Efficient use of space with a midgate, like the Skunk Truck, and a footprint about the size of a Mini. You can carry up to 8 passengers with available options (late) or 4x8 plywood with the rear gate up. And I think they're neat lookin'. How much money is spent on engineering a mid gate, and how much extra does the manufacturing and parts for the mid gate cost? I think customers of these compact EV trucks would rather save a few thousand on price instead of including this feature that will rarely be used. I actually like the solution Ford used for the Maverick. The two-position tailgate works and cost very little to implement. They must have data that says X number of people won't consider it if they can't carry something x-feet long, so they come up with a workaround like the midgate.
