The Mustang Coupe won't be able to survive with a V8 if CAFE goes the way its supposed to go an the sales numbers aren't exactly setting the world on fire either. A Sedan would help with both things and would be "affordable" and not boring at the same time. Maybe it is just the way this MT rendering was done, but the Mustang roofline and Mustang front / rear end don't adapt well to a sedan. The Mach E is pretty well done for a CUV Mustang. The main point of this is two-fold: to keep development costs low by pairing/re-using as much as they can of Mustang coupe/vert and to build something under the Mustang sub-brand umbrella. I've often said if we're gonna get a mustang sedan and keep a mustang utility, both of which have much better rear seat practicality than the coupe and will, in theory, appeal to mustang buyers who want a usable backseat far more than the coupe does. I wouldn't mind a future where that meant the coupe becomes a 2 seater and they used that new packaging flexibility to give the coupe more seductive proportions. IMO, removing what little practicality it has by taking out the rear seat will shrink already low sales even further. You're also making it something it's never been.
