akirby
Down 20k. Over half was Escape and Corsair. Nautilus has a sale hold waiting on a recall.
joseodiaga4
Nautilus is not replacing or mantaining the Corsair customers. I don’t know about that sale hold but nevertheless the situation at Lincoln doesn’t seem good. I hope they still bring the chinese Corsair. The Navi on its first full year (of the new model) and is already down.
joseodiaga4
July was a good sales month for a number of reasons. Our July results reflect a strategy that is working exactly as planned: we've intentionally been sunsetting select models and pulled back on low-margin rental fleet volume to make room for an onslaught of new-product introductions by the end of the decade," said Ford Director of U.S. Sales, Rob Kaffl. "While our total sales were down for the month, this decline is by design - this includes our planned sunsetting of Escape and Corsair and a 96 percent decline in our daily rental fleet business," he added. https://fordauthority.com/2026/08/ford-motor-company-sales-numbers-figures-results-july-2026-usa/ mmmm….what? 🙄 soo the plan is not to sell products now because new ones are coming in 2029, 2030? that is one hell of a strategy 😜👏🏻

They killed escape/corsair to make factory room for all the UEP products including the ones in 29 and 30. And cut out non profitable daily rental sales which was mostly Escape. The fact that profit is not falling with these cutbacks should tell you something.

It has been months of lower sales, this month almost all are in red.

That and to Ford’s credit, F Series 68,000 sales achieved with tight inventory (186,000) The only way the active that was with good forward inventory planning and not excess building of trims that subsequently had to be heavily discount…. twintornados
Well, the first excuse was, "we'll transition Escape buyers to Bronco Sport" (didn't happen), then the "we'll transition Corsair buyers to Nautilus" excuse also fell flat, you'dve though when Edge buyers did not transition to Explorer they would have come up with something different.

Sure the Aviator and Nautilus are not new models but it seems there is no strategy for the Corsair customers, also as I have said, first full year of the new Navigator and it is already down. But how many of those Escape sales where to fleet customers? The Explorer is seeing a 17% and the Bronco 4.8% sales increase so far this year and I know for a fact that Ford has targeted Escape buyers with Explorer deals. As for the Corsair, I guess Ford will say something by the end of the year if its going to be imported for the time being or not, so I'm not worrying about that this moment. BenKohnen
I feel like July is a good example of "you can't sell what you don't have". This month saw something unique to me - first time in 10 years with Ford sales that I didn't have a single new F-150 available to sell. And that lasted a couple weeks. We don't typically stock huge numbers of anything, but having 6-8 F-150's for a little store like ours is pretty normal. Zero? That sucked bad. We were totally gutted from the June Employee Pricing event, and then never got reloaded with inventory. We're still on the struggle bus trying to refill our lot.

Explorer is up because it is better than most every three row out there.
Schpark
My wife has a 2018 Escape. We would never consider an Explorer as a replacement. Edge or Bronco Sport maybe, Explorer nfw. I'll have some of what they are smoking.

The CE1 Truck will be a new segment for them that will pick up market share in other places when it comes. Why keep building the Escape when you have what is hopefully a revolutionary product that will spawn a replacement for the Escape in 2028 or so? The Escape was good product, but it also didn't really help Ford's bottom line either the past 13 years or so it appears.

The strategy is to import Corsair from China but that takes time. And there is a stop sale on Nautilus Quote A stop-delivery order affects 2024–2026 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid models due to a federal safety recall (Recall 26S51) regarding a software error that can stop the vehicle from emitting its required pedestrian warning sound at certain speeds. Dealers can still write deals, but cannot legally hand over keys until the software fix
7Mary3
Heavy truck sales are a bright spot, up almost 10% and nearly 1000 units/month! All kidding aside, I was expecting lower as it would seem U-Haul is switching to Peterbilt for their class 6 trucks.

But did Ford actually say that or was that just what we discussed? You don't need to transition buyers to other products. Some will naturally but especially with Escape and the high fleet sales they're better off financially just killing it. But we all know the replacement for Escape and Corsair are UEP products, just like Bronco Sport and Maverick replaced Fusuin.

This is also partially by design. There is a well known plan to keep reducing Lincoln dealers and removing Corsair (for the time being) is meant to “starve” some of the Lincoln dealers who rely on Corsair for volume. There are currently 430 Lincoln franchises and the goal is to get that down to 250-300 by the end of the decade. The plan was more about ending Escape than Corsair but the side effect is hoping to continue reducing Lincoln dealers who don’t want to build the standalone vitrine.
