Texasota
Recent press articles say the Excursion will be an EREV. We know that Super Duty is getting an EREV and is being built in Oakville. It could make sense to have an Excursion EREV built side by side with the SD. Edited August 26 by Texasota

It would be relatively low volume. Can they turn a profit on 2k units a month? $100k+ price

I'd imagine they'll try not to stray too far from the current successful look, but they also have to change it enough to convince buyers to upgrade... I could see them taking the 911 approach to it. Just mild tweaks here and there. A redesign grille and lights, slightly different proportions. But keeping most the lines and design elements as they are.

I like the headlights we see with the Chinese bronco. Still kinda circular, but ever so slightly more modern and squared off. It fits the boxy lines of the bronco well. Just nice styling tweaks and improvements like that are all that's needed imo.

The Baja Mustang doesn't have a good ring to it IMO, then again Raptor doesn't either. Wonder what else they can use.

Porsche owns Dakar I think so Baja is probably the next best for that kind of name.

Well Porsche also legitimately raced there also with the 959. I guess that is why Ford was going with Baja with its Bronco History.

No I understand....this is where that 911 got its name from:
akirby
The point has nothing to do with who competed in which race. I'm saying Porsche owns the Dakar name as a vehicle model/trim so Ford can't use it. I don't think anyone has registered Baja.

Motorpsychology
Maybe "Ruidoso?" As in Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico. Nah. Can't have a horse-oriented name for a Mustang.
rmc523
Ford CEO Jim Farley Gushes About Vehicles In Development In a recent post on Instagram, Farley gushed about the current state of the company's vehicle development process and some of the products that will stem from that. "Just wrapped one of the most ambitious Product Days in my time at Ford," Farley wrote. "We worked on the future of …. Super Duty. Explorer. Raptor. Our next-gen Universal EV portfolio. The Ford digital experience. I’ve never seen a product plan like the one baking in Ford’s oven right now. And this is just the start." While I don't want time to go any faster than it already is (and seemingly going faster), it'd be nice to finally see some of these products instead of the redesign/product drought we've had for a while now...

Government contracts? There's been talk of several prototypes for the govt, and I don't think GM produces the 3/4 ton suburban anymore, so this could be a way to take that market.
