I do like the updated slimmer headlights but not really a fan of that "black eye" around the grill.  My worry is it looking chipped and sun faded after a few years

Shouldn't be any different than the black B pillars.

Right....since it's painted, fading shouldn't be as much of an issue as if it was a black plastic.  Rock chips are a different story, but really no different than any other chips you'd get on the front of your vehicle/paint.

Might be a good case for PPF

That's not a good thing actually.  There have been a lot of issues with modern Lincolns that I have seen in a lot of groups of the B-Pillars developing these bubbles and they are expensive to replace.  I had to do it on both my MKZs 2013 and 2017.  And it's not just MKZs but I have seen it affect a lot of other Lincoln and Ford models so I hope it's NOT like the black B pillars

Ford taking its usual "higher price, fewer features" approach.....this one isn't crazy in the grand scheme of things, but still annoying.

2027 Lincoln Nautilus Drops Standard EasyFold Seats

The 2027 Lincoln Nautilus Premiere loses its 60/40 EasyFold second-row seats, which were formerly standard on the base 100A Premiere I equipment group. Instead, the entry level Nautilus gets the manual folding bench and reclining seats. The EasyFold seats are not gone for good, though; they are still available on the 2027 Nautilus Premiere II, included as part of the 101A equipment group. They're also standard on the Nautilus Reserve and Black Label, regardless of equipment group.

where they powered or something? I think in the past 4.5 years I've used my bronco, my back seats have been down maybe 2-3 times...so IMO not a huge deal.

I think it's an auto release from the cargo area (push a button, it drops), vs. having to release it from the 2nd row......don't think they're power up.

Correct.  Push button release from the cargo area.  Manual raise.

I'm always skeptical of things like Consumer Reports based on surveys, as it's all in how you ask the question.

An example I'll use is when I was helping my mom fill one out years ago when she had a 2007 BMW 3-series convertible.  One of the questions was in regard to the cupholders.  For reference, this is before BMW "Americanized" the interior with built-in cupholders, and it had ones that popped in and out of the dash.  She wanted to put a low rating on them, not because they were broken and didn't function properly (though they were prone to breaking over time), but rather because she didn't like how they worked.  They worked as designed, but weren't convenient (they also blocked both passenger air vents if you had cups in both of them) and only fit certain size items.

It'd be similar for if someone finds a bluetooth connection confusing.....not because it's "broken" or won't connect but rather "I had to push one too many buttons vs. what I thought".

Obviously there's a line there of something should be user-friendly but often the results can look worse than they actually are in these surveys.

FWIW, Borg info.....

I've been sitting on some interesting retail product news for the early 30's at Ford, but it's too early to share. But I now know what Farley means when he's promising a major redesign of Nautilus, and it's not the UEV as a replacement as I speculated. Much more to come, but it's all too far out now and nothing is on the ground yet as far as I know, so I'd have to see photos of the prototypes you saw to determine what they are. I also have some regrettable news about a certain Lincoln which is getting pushed back in favor of Ford (but it's also a broken record at this point).

Anyway, It does look like Ford is healing and growing with their future portfolio, which seems impossible since Farley has done everything in his power to shrink the portfolio. So I remain skeptical until it all ships...something Farley just hasn't done yet either.

My guess on Nautilus is that it'll become CD6 twin of the Mustang Mach-E/Edge ICE crossover.

We were told that CD6 would be expanded by ExplorerDude.

No-brainer

Yup, and with the data point of the Mustang ICE crossover, along with Farley's comments of "big" changes for Nautilus, it only makes sense that it'd pair with that vehicle.

It'd also give Lincoln the opportunity to give it a more performance angle, should they choose...

This current gen Nautilus should’ve always have been on CD6. Not sure why it wasn’t.

Funny, I had suggested a while ago they try to build more things on CD6 to try to get what they can out of that platform but was told over and over that "no CD6 is dead" "there's no business case" "they are better off using C2"

My biggest issue with the Nautilus is that it directly competes with the Lexus RX, yet its pricing can reach very nice BMW X5 money.  Potentially going on the CD6 platform can help justify the pricing if they of course invest in better powertrains, etc.

I think we've all been on board that train of it'd be better to use CD6.  But until recently, the CD6 approach for Edge/Nautilus was canned in favor of the version we got, which as sales have shown works for a lot of customers (and would've for Edge too).  For whatever reason, that approach has seemingly changed back to trying something RWD, and CD6 is the only platform they have to meet that.  There has to be some reason behind it, unless it just broadly fits under the "passion/no boring products" umbrella?

FWIW, Borg's response was:

I'm not aware of additional vehicles on CD6 tbh, is that a thing? I don't know the state of the off-roading Mustang either now that the 4-Door Mustang is just a RWD Hybrid. I have good reason to believe CD6 won't survive the next-gen Explorer/Aviator at least.

It does sound like Lincoln has a new slogan, "Elegant Force" instead of "Quiet Flight". I guess they are focusing on more performance powertrains for Lincoln....kinda like they use to.

But ExplorerDude has been more reliable, so I'd trust his info over Borg's info.

Where do you guys make up this stuff?

RX is $53k - $73k.   Nautilus is $53k - $77k.
