daveca250 Posted August 25 Share Posted August 25 (edited) Spark plug wire, #4 IIRC, was strapped to wiring bundle traversing fender/firewall to top of manifold. That HIGH VOLTAGE wire should NEVER be strapped to sensor/control wiring, a broken down insulation means serious damage to controls and computer systems. Automotive ignition transformer secondary voltages range from ~35Kv initial switching impulse to 5-8 Kv firing. This will DESTROY things it arcs over to. With high voltage, theres greatly increased chance for E field coupling and ignition noise to be coupled into other circuits. It was moved to being secured to #2 wire.
