I'm starting to get a little worried that t3 is gonna get canceled all together and Ford will just allocate that plant capacity to CE1 products. This is like the 4th or 5th delay, so that, combined with the lackluster reception of large, expensive EVs, it's not looking good. If t3 does ever release, it better be a knockout in every single category.
Yeah, when I said sales tank I meant relative to projections from a few years ago when near-term product plans were being made, and where ICE and even hybrids were expected to play much smaller role. GM assumed BrightDrop electric vans would sell much better, just like Ford assumed (projected or estimated) Transit EV would also sell much better, which would lead to Express becoming obsolete in GM’s case. That’s no longer the case, yet I can’t see Express remaining a low-roof full-size van when competition all provide stand-up headroom. That’s a big deal in a van other than in cutaway configuration.
Anyway, thanks for info, and glad to hear GM will design another generation of ICE or hybrid Express. IMO if they don’t offer a tall roof option it will limit sales significantly. My though was that if they work with Hyundai on new van for NA, maybe they will offer the planned e-van as ICE and or hybrid also.
Well, that chart contradicts itself and/or your argument doesn't make sense.
Let's look at the truck section, though the same point applies to all 3 segments......The chart is saying 93% own a home, and 7% don't own/rent? Is that supposed to say 93% own/rent? or is it' 93/7 own/don't own. where to renters fall if it's the former.
Not a chance that such a little percentage of apartment renters don't buy cars - that's ridiculously low.
Ford dominates the van market, so not sure what you're talking about lol.
And rumor is there's a TC replacement as part of this CE1 program.
Actually no. That’s incorrect because I don’t want a truck. 😀
At personal level I couldn’t care less about what Ford come up with unless it’s a van, and only if one I’d be interested in buying. However, I do care about Ford as a company and business. My opinions are based solely on that; except for “right” vans which apparently they are not pursuing.
