  1. This could apply to Ford too, we'll see what the plan details are in January...
  2. For those of you wondering where your Union dollars go, follow the link below to pull up the Department of Labor filings for your Local Union. Then, after reading into them, start to ask questions at your Union meetings. Be involved. Union Reports at the Department of Labor Website
  3. Would the moderator post this for me. I could not get this response to post. Doing something wrong. Thank you. Allen Nielsen.
  4. Click here for information on getting a railcar number.
  5. 48-32=16...See, they told you that you'd use math someday. But really, back then there were a lot of people who took jobs at a younger age.
  6. coconut - Make sure you keep us informed of what gets said to the media. I am sure we'll all hear it in some fashion a while later, but would be great to have a plant source to tell the real story. Thanks for the update.
  7. According to the Feds, you are not obligated to be in a Union even in a State that is not Right to Work. You can opt out of it at any time. There are a few consequences however, and must be considered before doing so. All that is really required is a basic drafted letter sent return request signature required to the Union and the Company. Details are here: LINK: How to Resign From the Union There is a link to a sample letter
  8. So, if everyone is through slinging mud and arguing, it seems to me that one way or another you will all be neighbors soon. Those lucky enough to keep jobs that is. So, having said that, does anyone have any information to share about what is actually going on, what will be going on, or anything related to the consolidation at all that would be helpful to get out to the general memberships (plural)? Seems there is always something to fight about, but this thread was originally posted BC (Before Crash) to spread news that people needed and wanted to hear. Seems to me that anyone who wants to debate has that right, but the majority of this thread has turned into nothing more than taunts and profanity, and has made any information exchange very difficult.
  9. Just be careful this Christmas not to go deep in debt. Best advice I could give to any UAW person right now is get your finances in line with a maximum 40 hour work week. If you can't make it on that, you need to get there fast.
  10. Says it was gate released 11/7... Found a bunch of vehicles were pushed into side lots because of a big railcar shortage. Will see if yours is one of those that was sitting. If so, I have been seeing these shipped out as of last week and week before. 11. Email from Mark Fields this afternoon to all Ford Employees: Speculation is just that, speculation. When the plan is announced, we'll all know then. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Confirmed so far that dayshift is working 8, and night shift will be off.
  13. I see them once in a while, they are around. They just sometimes don't want to see me...
  14. Just one simple thing that needs to be changed: Get rid of all Appointed Positionsat all levels, period. How can you trust someone who has politicked enough to get people to appoint them to a position? To quote David Broder: "Anyone that wants the presidency so much that he'll spend two years organizing and campaigning for it is not to be trusted with the office." P.S. - Want to say a big hello to all you National and Regional boys who have been calling the plant all interested about me. Hi!

They put the call out tonight for tomorrow to cancel the shifts. Heard rumblings of picking up afternoon shift on Friday...
  16. CSX says your railcar is in my backyard, and was moved from the mixing center to the railyard about noon today. Should be leaving Kansas City late tonight or early tomorrow. Please post for future checks up in the thread up top of this section. Thanks!
