  1. I too was a team member before the plant closing, and we had a few that would say the same shit, you guys don't know anything, just doin it to get outa work, etc, etc, etc. NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM WOULD STEP UP OR EVEN TAKE A SIMPLE FIRST AID OR CPR CLASS. Just talk ,talk,talk..... I learned to tune these people out and do my business.....Proud to be an ERT!!!!

  2. At Monroe our union and some (very few) of our management supported us...The management that did support us also had the utmost respect for what we did, and we truly appreciated it. Our team is down to about 3 guys now with the plant going in the shitter, all our equipment is being sold at auction. Its sad, cause I really took alotta pride in what our guys did in the plant and at comp. Hopefully I can get on the team at the rouge complex, if they still have one....If you guys go to comp this year good luck and keep doing what you do best, you guys are still appreciated and needed, good luck....

  3. thanks guys, a month or two would be ok with me as long as I know I have a place to go to when its all said and done, give me a chance to get the boat ready for WALLEYE fishin, ya gotta love this system.... if you guys here any different let me know will ya ......thanks

  5. anyboby heard anything about the postings for trades to go to the rouge just wondering about the T & D guys. Are we going before we get tossed on unemployment?, are they letting the guys inside move around first and we take whats left? whats up????

  6. I agree with leftski 100% we at monroe are in the same boat we won the work but somebody up north had other plans for it and shipped it elsewhere now we sit in JSP due to sourcing issues. all we want is a fair shot at any jobs that are available, instead of this good ole boy shit thats goin on lately.

  7. Sho Nuff, ain't gonna affect us for a while but it will!!! Maybe now the company will realize that cheaper parts and labor ain't always as good as it looks!!!! what goes around comes around....Gee did'nt ford have three plastics plants that they shut down ?? sure could use them about now.....

Heard they shut the plant down friday nite so the state police and sheriff had nobody to serve papers on... chrysler showed up with cops and trucks to get their dies.....nobody home.....

  8. there is not a deer back there worth shooting. no big bucks. heard some asshole got caught shooting two big 8s out of state park. the DNR cuaght him while he was dragging them out. boy did you guys ever see the size of the bucks that were back there a couple of years ago????

there are still a couple nice ones back there all you gotta do is know where to look and at what time....theres been over 60 deer counted at one time. meats, meat ain't gotta have horns to eat it. how long you gotta boil the rack before its edible?? :hysterical: need to geta price sheet from the city offices..

  9. My buddy has just returned to work from long term medical. He happens to have Hepatitis C and advanced liver disease. All but one of this guys co-workers is okay with his disease. The problem is that one person that happens to be a utility worker is freaked out and is causing my buddy a great deal of trouble. He has gone to the union and started a bunch of crap and is trying to have my friend moved from his job because he is afraid that he will catch Hep C. He is also badmouthing and starting other rumors throughout my buddy's work area. Does anybody have any ideas for my buddy? I've done some research and found that Hepatitis C is pretty hard to catch and that basically the only way to catch it is infected blood in a open wound.

Tell your friend to go to labor relations and make them enforce the zero tolerance policy! its their job to put a stop to shit like this, if the company is ok with him in there then it is there duty to protect him.....

  10. ??? :headscratch: Hills....I thought your plant was on the water??

It is, but back when they did the cleanup here they dug up all the toxic shit and emtombed it under these really neat grassy hills. Walking trails and one of the largest deer heards in monroe county...THATS IT !!, the city of monre is going to have what Henry Ford had back in the day, their own private hunting club. Hell I shoulda thought of this before.....

  11. first off EVERYONE @ monroe is UAW, its just that some are orange people and the rest are BLUE. Captain said it right,we are ford ee's in ach plants, we are not ACHers. WE are FORD please give us that, we still have some dignity left. now back to what this post is about, would'nt the hills out back look great with some battlefield bull shit on em....

  12. what about this guypost-30144-1200039280_thumb.jpgpost-30144-1200039330_thumb.jpg this guy is great. never heard a bad thing about him

he's okay, stuck his foot in his mouth more than once, but managed to come back with a save.....dosen't know much but he's learning, got good teachers. he's still kind of an optimist but he'll get over that soon...neat clothes though guy hides in a crowd don't he..goofy hat.

  13. I haven't been here in awhile but it looks like the same old crap, lets bash anybody we can. Thats not the answer we all need to work together to ,well, if nothing else, better our outcome. I still have not heard a definite date yet. always the end of 2008. regardless of who gets the property after the fact we need to beleive that our local guys did the best they could. We came out of this with a decent contract and the gen/jsp still intact, all we can donow is ride out the storm still its over...

  14. when all the new work was brought into the plant a few years ago, the city of monroe gave this facility a huge tax abatement in exchange for keeping the work here in monroe, and keeping a certain amount of people working. now the place is supposidly closing and the city just sits on their friggin thumbs and says OK, we'll just eat our tax break. BULLSHIT, their up to something, and it ain't gonna be good for the citizens of monroe. who's gonna make up all the lost revenue in this city, you think turning this place into a park is going to pay the bulldog!!!good luck people of monroe.....a couple years from now the city will wonder why more and more people are moving to the burbs...

  15. I hope I am wrong, but this guy needs to get involved instead of listen to the bullshit on the floor. Go to a union meeting! I give Jeff credit for having balls. He could have waited for the ship to sink before making change. A good leader uses his crystal ball and can see that sht coming. Nice job for doing whats right for the membership and the local. Hope that didn't hurt him. His committee should understand...everyone needs to start trimming the fat. Tough decision but thats what leaders get paid to do. Other Locals should learn by this!!!
