so I am assuming this made you want a new MKX even more lol
-
I hate to be that guy, but can I just take this opportunity to express my disappointment that this didn't get as much as just one " "
I laughed IRL
-
I keep seeing more and more around here. They really stick out no matter what color.
-
looks interesting, pretty good power numbers for the warrantied one.
-
After reading everything and reading your posts over the years. I dont think your going to be happy with anything but an MKX
-
I really wish the Ford GT had a new model, refresh that bitch with a blown BOSS
-
I am still convinced that something else has to be going on here. Ford knows the numbers these dealerships run. They either want Lincoln inside Ford dealerships or they want Lincoln only dealerships, and less of them. There is a plan, we just dont know it.
-
How about you just install it and be happy you sold a car?
-
I agree to a certain extent, but it is a part of the market i dont think should be ignored....after all, if the customer has a GOOD experience with their "cheap" Korean car, dont you think that when their next transaction takes place that the SAME brand will be in the back of their mind?.....something to be said about brand loyalty.....
I think Ford can compete in the lower price ranges just with different cars. The koreans might be able to provide a fiesta/fit sized car at say a "KA" price but I see no reason Ford shouldnt have a car in that price segment. It just has to be unique and profitable without huge volumes.
I agree, its a risk to give away the bottom of the market.

I was reading an article on Left Lane News today: "Lincoln Dealers fear for survival as Mercury dies" and happen to stumble across on reader's comments:
What do you think about the death of Mercury and the prospect of Lincoln?
I think Ford wants some of these dealers to close.

Fiesta has now taken the Focus pricing segment and then some, Focus will take over Fusion pricing and then some...etc etc....I predicted all this a few years back....by those thoughts, fusion will take over Taurus, and Taurus too will move upwards....
There is nowhere upward for the Taurus to go

There's money to be had in Nascar. ALMS?
Money for who?
-
What other luxury compacts follow anything other than a traditional 2- or 3-box design?
how many compact luxury cars are on the market the size of a fiesta?
-
A $28K starting price would still have it undercutting most of the entry-lux competition. And yeah, if it comes to market looking anything like that ugly Concept C it will be full of fail. The only way I see it succeeding at all is as a tradtional 3-box sedan.
I like the Concept C, it needs some love but I think in general a compact lux car should look a little different

Here's the thing.
1) Where would new Volvo product come from? Ford platforms.
2) Where would new Volvo product be built? Ford factories.
What would be the difference between Volvo and Lincoln at that point? The loyal following of Volvoistes? If their product is built on Ford platforms and assembled in Ford factories, Volvoistes will quit. They'll go elsewhere.
I think the fact that the costs of building each brand would be relatively close assuming they follow the guidelines your post. Volvo would be my choice simply because its already an international brand. Lincoln would have to be built from scratch, that may not be a bad thing but it will be expensive.

Well this is a lick, at least "put it in your mouth" senario wiould be at least nicer.
I thought we were talking about cars?
-
BTW, I think Ford should stay in motorsports--including NASCAR. NASCAR if for no other reason than Ford should stand for something besides selling cars and making money, and their longstanding relationships with the Wood Brothers, Yates, and Roush should be honored by helping those guys earn their living.
Why not push those names into other forms of more useful racing such as ALMS?
-
Is that the Ford version of the MKR....lol
-
-
thats pretty cool, I hope it works out. Should be a site to see
-
and you have to admit that color choice is awesome
-
It doesnt need to be RWD, they need a elite AWD chassis. If tuned right it would be fine.
-
I actually dont think its a bad idea. What Ford needs to get out of is Racing that isnt helping its development. Production based racing is someplace Ford should be.
-
The Lincoln C was almost spot on for what a compact Lincoln should be like.

It really doesnt bother me. Sport doesnt have to mean faster in a straight line. It just means its sportier which could be handling or just looks when it comes to Manufacturers.
