And remember, not so long ago.....
The 1956 Lincoln Continental was the most expensive car on the market that year. It cost more than a new Rolls Royce and double than a Cadillac
Not so long ago..? you're talking over 50 years ago.. that's almost half the lifetime of the auto industry itself. I agree with what someone else said, Lincoln was in a much different place image-wise back then. Not that they never should try, but one step at a time...

It was a small fridge... and fully stocked (which would require less energy to cool)?

There have been pics of the front end of the US Fiesta that were out weeks ago..that's probably what Borg and others are referring to. Cant recall where the pics were posted. The upper grill is slightly bigger, with three thin horizontal bars. As a result of the bigger upper grill, the lower intake is smaller. In my opinion, i don't think it changes the look that significantly, and should still do well.

maybe "Eco-Force" then?

I'm thinking when the article says "french doors" that perhaps the rear seat door will open in two halves like french doors while the front door remains standard? since its confirmed thats its not truly suicide doors...could that be what the writer meant? i guess we'll soon find out..
