  1. Um no. It was either add a 3rd shift in 6R or start up the overflow 6R3 line. Yes, 6R3 is just an overflow line to build what 6R cant. So you can keep dreaming about 6R adding a third shift. Guess what, you have not refuted anything Ive said. Empty space out the ass, a decimated union, and no new work coming. You can talk about new work but until its in the plant and running its all rumor. Two years from now when 4R goes belly up, the place will be left with one line and less than 400 people working on it.

Heres an idea Mr. 182 why not transfer to another plant since your so down on Livonia. I'm sure someone would just love to have a positive person such as yourself bitchin about their place!! Viva Livonia!!!!

  2. Speak english, I havent a clue what the above means.

Ron Harbour has found that Quality and productivity are found together. Hence travel in pairs. Livonia has been one of the most profitable units in powertrain latley. Getting great numbers off 6R 1 2 and 3 And recently we addressed a vendor problem in a timely manner on good old 4R, all the parts measured within spec that were made in plant on 21 year old and older equipment!!!! So those my friend are undeniable facts.

  3. That's what I heard last night. He was fired personally by the plant manager. I guess he came over from the 4 spd trans job to the new 6 spd job, on the case line. The supervisors on the 4 spd are more interested in getting the number than making sure a good product comes off the assy line. As most of them say, we'll worry about the quality later. I guess yesterday, the case line wasn't producing cases for the main line fast enough or something, not sure what but, they've just installed new machinery to lighten the load but, it's just not quite ready yet to put out parts. Well this foreman, went over, started up it all up himself and ran cases through it and sent them to assy. They used them but, gee whiz, when they were scanned, they were rejected as not being ready for production. They were junk. Plant manager heard about it, came down and fired the foreman on the spot. Then he said, this stuff will not be tolerated and that if anyone else wants to do similar acts, they will be dealt with. I've also heard that this type of action by that foreman is beginning to spread throughout the 6 spd job area. That those supervisors from 4 spd who are used to doing things the old way, are coming in there and messing things up with their quantity over quality attitude and that the quality on the 6 spd is starting to suffer from it.

Need a name please. we here at the plant cant verify this story.

We have not been able to verify this story. No one knows any salaried person fired on afternoons. Who was this guy?

  6. We have a new controller,,,, over in our welding department,, we have a machine with a bad pnumatic valve,, to keep it running, we have to swap the valve off another machine to get it running,, this valve is being shared by three machines depending on which one they need to run at that time,,, all because the controller will not authorize the purchase of a $125 valve,,,,,,,

Save money by not buying parts,, but lose that money in downtime and premium shipping cost,,, just don't understand,,, somebody Dig the old man up and show him what these people are doing with his company...

Brand new machines are used for spare parts. Talk about waste. Kids would't run a lemonade stand that way.
