  1. I agree! Between the TFTs and outsourcing, the real Ford worker will be difficult to find. These people that think the COA is a good thing should tell us what they think in a couple of months, down to one shift, outsourced jobs, and TFTs constantly changing so they don't get more than 89 days. Good going Ford Motor Company. Your products are really going to be top quality. Oh, what a minute. That's right, nobody has promised us a product.

With the COA there is no more 89 day workers, the workers will now sign a paper that says they can work as long as FORD needs them but they understand they will gain no senority...The temporary workers at DTP are now called Temporary Full Time....No more hiring full time workers when you can hire Temporary Full time workers with less pay and no benefits! THANKS TO THE COA!!!

  2. Engine line's not going anywhere, Tire hole is.

Your right the engine line is not going anywhere,it will stay in the plant but will be run by a another company with non-ford workers..Once the engine line gets outsourced at DTP,which that process is happening now,the same company will most likely take over all the engine lines in FORD assembly plants....That new COA is nothing but a job eliminating contract...You think what you want to but just remember DTP is the model for all plants so what happens at DTP will eventually happen at all FORD plants!

  3. engine line utility went to see the 09 -2010 expy's with flex fuel motors and diesels about 8 months ago. was told the engine line was getting a total makeover to accomodate.

Engine line will get a makeover alright..It will be outsourced just like they doing at DTP! Thanks to the COA!

  4. Yes, of course they will vote yes. Like someone in Material Handling mentioned, maybe that was the big reason the union delayed the vote. They wanted to get the TFTs in place so they could vote. That is so unfair. So what if they get union representation, I don't have a problem with that. But why should they get to vote on the future of MTP. That should have been excluded from their contracts. The union really knows what they are doing. When I voted at 8:00 last night ( we went home after 4 hours due to parts shortage) there really was not a lot of people there. But moved the voting time up to 7:00 instead of 11:00 so we could vote. If and when it does get voted in, we will have to see if it really does any good. And if it doesn't, all the people that voted yes can just kick themselves in the butt.

When MTP looses a shift will anyone actually be laid off or will the buyout numbers even itself out and people will go to Wayne?

  5. Trust me,I hate rumors as much as anyone, and rarely do I help prolong one. But after talking to the former nightshift PM ,and talking to a few supervisors, we are hearing the POSSIBILITY of being around until as late as April of 08'. Some people over at Johnson Control started this ,which is no surprise since suppliers need to know first.

Now keep in mind, that same former PM said a couple weeks ago that August 07 was a best case scenario.

Now,Im not trying to spawn bullshit here, but I would like to hear some possible reasons on why or why not this could happen. I said reasons, not brain farts.

Now I say no ,because we are essentially DTP's 3rd shift right now. We are building a lot of regular cabs and working shorter days. So if you add our numbers to DTP's ,you effectively have one plant on 3 shifts. So in my mind, when DTP gets their 3rd shift running at full speed,NAP will be no longer needed.

BTW,when is DTP set to go full blast on 3 shifts ? :reading:

It won't happen,ALL buyouts must be complete by Sept.2007,so FORD would not keep NAP open longer than August!! Plus with sales like they are NORFOLK will no longer be needed when DTP's 3rd shift starts..

  6. I was told today that MTP will be voting on the COA on Wed. and Thurs. next week. Also was told by the union that PFTs' (permanent full time employees) will be able to vote on the COA. Also, hourly employees that are taking the buyout and have paid union dues for this month also will be able to vote on the future of MTP. I feel that the union is manipulating the COA vote, even though we know that it will be "approved" anyway. :banghead:

So when MTP looses a shift will the ones from the shift lost go to Wayne? Is it true that the buyout numbers evened out so no one actually looses their job and gets laid off....I hope it all works out for everyone!

Question,If the COA is voted in does MTP still loose a shift? Or will they keep it?

  8. Werent we supposed to be informed about the last 2 assembly plant closures late 2006? In the first way backwards plan

Jan 23,2006 they said all plants would be named later that year didnt they?

And they named the other 2 plants,NORFOLK and TWIN CITIES! But there are others which won't be revealed til after contract time.

  9. I moved to Alaska to start a new career,so far it's working out good..Lots of good hunting and fishing here..I enjoyed building trucks but I think I like my new job better.I work as a aircraft mechanic for a private charter plane service who does hunting and fishing trips and sightseeing trips..I live in a remote area with about 225 people living there...The peace and quite is nice...To all my fellow NAP'ers I wish you well..GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE!

  10. Things are running good here, alot of people have left and gone to work for Stanely at Blackwater making $15 an hr. Fuuuck that

You talking about Stanely Wilson? If so what is his job at Blackwater?

I took buyout.....and moved to Alaska...I'm working for a private charter plane service doing mechanic work...Money is good cause no one wants to move to Alaska..

  11. I've said it all along and I firmly believe that now is the perfect time for Ktp to go to 2 shifts, 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. Once the 1300 or so who signed up for the buyouts are gone, it would not take much to get down to two shifts and ship out the Tpt's. Then they get 100 hours per week to the 120 they are getting now and if the orders pick up, they just go back to relieving and throw in Sats and they accomplish the same thing as the 3 crew. I hope it doesn't come to it, but if it's ever gonna happen, it's now.

Your right, give the people who want a buyout NOW,why wait!

  12. I really miss everyone, but I have to say it sure is nice not to have to come in there anymore. I thought about all of you last night and prayed you would have a good day today.......I bet there a a lot of changes taking place. But just hang on. No matter how tough it gets, remember there's $100,000.00 at the end of the rainbow for you or whatever deal you may have chosen.........And I fear the end of the rainbow will be here before you know it.........See you guys sometime...

    John Shepherd

    Norfolk Assembly Plant(ret)

I bet Norfolk ran like shit today with lots of people put on jobs they don't even know!!! I would have loved to have been there to see all the confusion going on!

  13. That has nothing to do with anything. FOMOCO offered an opportunity for people to make a decision and they did. Their paper work/buyouts getting fucked up has nothing to do with their decision to quit. That was just a stupid thing to suggest. :finger:

Whether they quit now or wait it out,the plant is gone. Many people needed the go ahead from Ford in order to move on . Ford dropped the ball here, and its fucked up.

YOU RUSH INTO THINGS this is what you get....Happy Holidays!!

  14. I am in the same situation, insurance canceled etc..............

Those who are still at the plant I would appreciate you keeping us updated on this screw up.

    Thanks!!!!!

I can't say on this forum what I truly would like to say about "HER".

Now why would us people at the plant know anything about this screw up with yall folks...How can we keep you update when that topic is not even mentioned on the floor, plus we are about to be off til Jan.2nd and some forever...You people should have thought the situation thru a little more before you just up and QUIT!!!

You rush into a room filled with lots of people running around and Labor saying go here go there sign here sign there, what do you expect,A SCREW UP,and thats what you got...Labor did not know what the hell was going on on that day no more than you people that quit did,so now you can sort the mess out on your own with the help of Cracked Out Labor!
