  1. We've got some good guys on this forum, offering up their time to check on cars for folks they don't even know.

:hi5: To you Pioneer (and Fuzzy and others who do it as well) for your offers for assistance. Kudos to you guys!

Now, if only I could have gotten Pioneer to track my truck for me when I was waiting instead of ignoring my PM for months... :hysterical: (I kid, I kid)

I still feel bad about that. The mobile version doesn't open a window like the desktop version does. You have to actually look for messages.

  2.

Ya, it was TBD in Mexico the whole time. Once it finally shipped it moved pretty quickly. When mine reached Agincourt, it was at the dealer 11 days later.

This one has been sitting for 10 days, so I mean it could still be any day I guess.

If you could check it occasionally over the next couple of days, I would actually really appreciate that!

This one had an original dealer ETA of November 23rd and now it's pending a manual update. It could be there awhile but I'll look at it around Thursday.

  3.

Trust me, I grew up with someone working as a Ford Employee...coming across as a disgruntled employee doesn't win anyone any favors, no matter who you work for.

And no the grass isn't greener on the other side either...

I'm not disgruntled. Ford makes some great vehicles. I just don't think Lincoln lives up to what they should be.

Edit: And I think the time, money and resources wasted on Lincoln would be better spent being used on the core Ford products.

  4. The VIN you sent, is that for the vehicle you've been waiting on in this thread, or a different one you've selected to buy?

If it's a different one, you don't have very good luck with vehicles. That car was built on October 24th, shipped on October 27th and arrived at the rail yard in Agincourt, ON on November 24th and has a TBD date to be delivered to the dealer.

  5. which one is closer so I dont have to go out of my way?

Thats the one I go to, I dont care about all of that extra stuff I probably wont use anyway.

That's what I don't understand. I buy a car to drive and be reliable. Lincoln is planning on you coming back to the dealership and how they will treat you when it breaks down? Doesn't that scream "unreliable"?

  6.

So lets do the math here:

Lincoln differs from Ford in sheetmetal, share or have slightly different engines, improved interiors, (supposedly) different dealership experience. In the grand scheme of things, that really doesn't add much in the costs of developing car.

    At the low end-

    Escape S-roughly 24K

    MKC Premier-$32

A MKC can top out at around $43K an Escape Ti around 33K

So your saying Lincoln is a parasite if you can bring in an average of 8-10K more per unit then a Ford?

If any buyer is paying sticker price for a Lincoln, they are fools and deserve it.

  7. You obviously don’t understand the luxury market. Plenty of people are buying Lincolns and paying a lot for them.

I guess I don't. I would have thought the perfect vehicle experience would have been driving it, not looking forward to something going wrong with it so the dealer can pamper me with Grey Poupon and little cups of coffee you have to stick your pinkie out to drink,.

  8.

2012 Focus. Power shift transmission with original clutch pack and seals. 76,000 miles and it drives fine (really, it does). Disclaimer: 90% of our driving is on the highway. Once the tranny is in 6th gear, it stays there for an extended period (we live in rural northern Michigan), I doubt Id be saying the same thing if I lived in the city.

Yeah. My friends was fine until he hit 75k, then he lost his TCM. At 96k he needed replacement clutches. He drives from Toledo to Dearborn every day. Stranded him twice on the expressway.

Good luck to you, but I'd dump it first chance you get. Everybody I know of with a DCT has had problems, and working for Ford I know a lot.

  9. I ordered a 2015 MKC in the spring of 2014 after my MKX was written off when I was rear ended on I-15 going through Las Vegas. I have been pleased with the vehicle particularly the 2.3 Echoboost but the rear seat leg room leaves a lot to be desired. I had decided to buy a 2018 MIX until I saw the specs with no change from 2017. Have recently had 2 test rides in a Volvo SUV and was close to purchasing when info arrived on the 2019 Nautilus. I have seen a number of the features listed but nothing about Heads up Display. I was really taken with this feature on the Volvo and would think with the price being asked for the top of the line Lincoln SUV this would be available

I don't think HUD is an option, but a periscope isn't out of the question.

  10. DDMP(Dearborn Diversified Manufacturing Plant)

Ahhh. The Dump. They just put a lot of money into that plant. I was in there about a year ago about when they were installing the latest hydroform line. Heard things on the production side were good since the lady LL6 went back to Woodhaven.

Good luck. Parts plants are gravy compared to assembly, and DDMP is tough to get out of since they are always adding work.

  11. Thank you for replying....So theres no way I cant find out about openings? or do I have to wait on them to post? Im at dearborn rouge and the rumor here is once your here your here.

It's hard to leave the Rouge, but not impossible. Because all the separate plants are the same local, usually when one plant has too many people, other plants are adding. You also have to deal with the fact that most of the people on site are from other plants with recall rights.

What plant are you at, exactly?
