Although the price increases haven't been outrageous, Dollar said they could still lead her family to buy a more fuel-efficient vehicle. Currently she drives a coupe, and her husband drives a large sedan."It definitely makes you think about, what can I get — maybe a hybrid or something smaller," she said. "We definitely wouldn’t buy a truck because gas is so much more."

What a waste of money and resources.

In Ford's defense, did the actual lay out of Dearborn change or was it completely gutted with new equipment going into the same place?
Completely gutted. We disconnected electric and air and bulldozers literally pushed the robots and machines out the back door. Never seen anything like it and I wished that I had taken pictures of the piles sitting in the back yard. If I were to describe to you how high they were you'd never believe me.
When it wad all said and done the building was down to bare steel.

Party like its 1999
I wish. Made less per hour back then but still managed to bring more profit sharing home.

At the Detroit Auto Show Ford announced the 2019 Edge and the Edge ST. They also announced that th 2019Edge will have an 8 speed trans. Why would anyone buy an ‘18 if the ‘19will have better fuel economy and performance via the 8speed?
I learned a lesson with my wifes 2017 Escape. Don't buy the first year anything.
Good luck being the guinea pig with that 8-speed.

But, here's the interesting thing. Ford had a Rep monitoring that thread on that site. For a long time is was a woman, and she was great about helping folks with "problems or issues" with
their orders OR with their cars after receiving them. She would write something about an issue, etc, then ask the person to PM her with ALL their info. and she would do the research and
come back with an answer...IF she could get a viable answer for them. So, Ford at least then had a "connection" to what was going on with COTUS...through the special thread on that
web site. So, they were taking interest in COTUS.
Now, I don't know if there is a Ford Rep. monitoring that same COTUS thread. But, that was at least one example of Ford "having a hand" in the operation of COTUS.
Ford used to have representatives on a lot of online forums. Most would help escalate warranty claims and help with special order tracking. Seems about a year or so ago funding for that program got cut and the accounts went dark.

I have to agree with Phil here. I live on the border of Michigan and Ohio, and buy from a dealer in Ohio. Ohio requires a front plate, Michigan does not.
I've told my salesperson before that if my vehicle has the front plate installed that I won't take delivery of it. I usually find them in the trunk or hatch wrapped in plastic.

Same time the ambient lighting was cut from the doors from the Focus.
Ambient lighting was only cut from the doors of the Focus this year (MY2018). From a job standpoint I was glad to see it go, those stupid connectors were a thorn in my side.
It was cut from the Escape too. It was the first thing my wife noticed when she opened the door to her new 2018 the day we traded her 2017 in.
Sorry you didn't like them Fuzzy. One of the neat little touches I like about my car.

.
It was donated to and sold for charity. Seems Ford knows and authorized it.
To sweeten the pot, Ford is also including a Ford Performance Racing School GT Experience with the sale of the Ford GT. This world-class program will give the winning bidder the chance to improve their driving skills behind the wheel of one of the world’s most celebrated supercars. -
Thanks for the replies. If i cant get my deadbeat dealer to actually look at the order before the window sticker comes is there time to get it added to the order at that point? I also noticed that 4x4 wasnt listed on the model information portion.
It's defiantly a 4x4. If you look at the thumbnail I posted, I believe the second row is correct too.
-
Can anyone tell me whether COTUS shows all the features for an order, or only a select few at the bottom? Now that I have a VIN I noticed that the second row bucket seats, which are the only feature we absolutely need, were not mentioned anywhere. I called my dealer and he said it says heated second row seats, which Im pretty sure is not the same thing. This is the first time Ive ordered a vehicle so Im just worried it wasnt ordered correctly. Thanks for helping out a newbie.
VIN: 1FMJK2AT9JEA21724
Dug through the order and I think the bucket seats were ordered. Best way to know is to probably look at the DORA.

It was the smart move....please don't tell me we are witnessing the second coming of Jac the Knife....
He's known around the plants as Jim Hatchet. Seems he wants all budgets cut by a certain percentage this year by any means possible.

Yes, they would also be popular in San Francisco.
This is the best Subaru commercial of all time:
It can't be the best without a dog.
If you want to be mushy and have your commercial all packed with feels, this one is the best.
-
You have to admit, they have the best commercials no matter how you feel about their vehicles.

When my car is in the garage, I have strong wifi but it will NOT automatically update like it should. When I have it scan for updates, the little circle just spins and nothing happens. I know there is an update available.
Jcartwright, I only have 2.0 and the music titles show just fine whether using radio or recorded music on a flashdrive. Under what circumstances are you NOT seeing song titles, artist, etc?
Everything from phone to voice commands seem to work perfectly with 2.0 but I know my system is not fully up-to-date. I guess I could do the manual update but I am not sure what would be gained.
Mine took about a month to update from 1.0 to 2.0 on my Focus over WiFi. I wish it would have stayed at 1.0. It worked better. Then a month or so when 2.3 wad released. Still wish it was at 1.0.
Be careful for what you wish for. You just might get it.

Per Wikipedia, it says the current t6 ranger has a weight of 4114 to 4339 lbs. doesnt say what engine was used in those numbers though and I have no idea what ROW ranger has any aluminum or not, but that should at least give you an idea of what we should expect.
Now add in all the stuff you have to include to meet US crash ratings, all the new standards features and the beefed up frame. You're in F150 territory.
-
And the truck we are talking about today will likely approach 5000 lbs for an unladen crew cab 4x4.
The lightest SC F-150 4x2 is about 4500lbs with the 2.7, 4600 for the Crew with the same engine. If the Ranger is heavier than that, while using the smaller engine, then Ford is doing this truck half-assed by not going full aluminum.

Not sure what the official name of this is but I assume it is a dealer talking points list for customers who inquire about the 2019 Ranger:
http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175224
Duh, I guess the title of the thread says what it is.
Here's a graphic. States Ranger will not be in showrooms until next February. They should have revealed it next year.

only 4? Lol
5 if you want to take it directly to the dealer afterwards.
33,000 miles on my Focus last year
33k / 12 months = 2750 miles a month
4 months = 11k miles
5 months = 13.3k miles
I bought my Focus on November 4th 2016. I currently have 38,620 miles on it.
Here's a snapshot of my fuelly log. Doing it since day 1.
-
oh its going to take probably 2 coast to coast trips to come close to hitting the 36k, Im at 23k(ish) right now. This is what our sales rep told us when we looked into it a month ago. We were hoping to get in on the 2017 Fusion fire sale going on, but thats not going to happen.
Let's trade cars for 4 months. I'll get it to 36k.

Read the last statement in my previous post and then read the following link which gives the net worth of Jimmy Settles:
I personally think everybody in that article is crooked, but nobodies personal net worth is mentioned in that article. It mentions amounts held by nonprofit "charities" and training centers.
Now, prove that they hid assets and bribes in that charity, and you have another story.

Per the contract, the week of Christmas will not exceed 40 hours of holiday pay
He's talking about the week after. If you don't work the day preceding and after a holiday and aren't excused for them, you lose your holiday pay. By working on January 3rd instead of the 2nd they lost their holiday pay for the 1st.
Somebody dropped the ball. Either the union for not realizing what they were agreeing to or the people in labor for not excusing everybody on the 2nd.

Thanks Pioneer! That was quick.
Luck of the draw.

For what they paid for a Focus, if their engine fails the pressure test, they deserve new cars, not new engines.
