  1. Can someone look up the status of my Expedition Max order? Same situation as back21. Ordered on Nov 30, priority 10.

    Dealer - CB7034

    Order - 0001

    Much appreciated.

    Hi Pioneer.

Yes - I am in Canada.

Dealer Name is Watkin Motors Ford. (Vernon, British Columbia)

    Thanks for looking into it.

OK. It wasn't the dealer code. It was the order number. It's P003 not 0001. They have 6 units on order. 1 has been delivered, 1 is in production. The other 4 are unscheduled, and the only one that was ordered on November 30th is on the top of the list.

  2. thats what I said. Production has to begin in the prior calendar year.

You can launch a 2019 model on December 31st 2019 if you wanted. But at 12:01am January 1st, the vehicles coming off the line VIN's better reflect it's a 2020 model.

If you're right and the Ranger is a 2019, and it's not on sale before the end of this year, then 2019 is going to be a short model run. Should just launch it as a 2020 then.

  3. I recently rented a well appointed Fusion Ecoboost - everyone who came near that car complimented it and the performance was outstanding. I find it extremely hard to believe that this Honda or a Camry is in any way a better car than the Fusion. Maybe a bit more room in the back seat, but "better" - I'm not buying that. I think that Honda and Toyota have the luxury of their customers not cross-shopping. They simply go to a Toyota or Honda Dealer on a Saturday and buy a car. They have no idea what else even exists.

I had the same experience. I was surprised to find a Fusion Titanium AWD available when we went to Florida in December. Only had 3k miles on it. Was a great car. Black exterior with tan interior. There were times we took that instead of my Dad's Explorer to keep miles off of it, and with 5 adults, nobody in the back seat complained about needing any more room. Would have considered buying one except the VIN started with a 3.

  4. It can also depend too on how the shipping company handles things too. For instance if you buy a Focus or C-Max, it might have close to 25 miles on it if they drove it to the holding yard at Flat Rock Assembly. The only reason I know its 25 miles because I live nearby and work at MAP where the Focus is built and I drive 50 miles round trip to and from work.

Why they do this, Im not sure, probably because theres way more loading ramps for trains at a FRAP (2 different sets of ramps, Im not sure how many exactly. I should try to count as I drive by one day) vs the 4 at MAP, and its access to a different railroad, CSX and Norfolk Southern both service tracks surrounding MAP (CSX owns a small yard right next door) and Canadian National owns the much bigger yard that borders FRAP.

They drive them to DTP too. They also load and unload behind the Marathon oil refinery. I've seen Focus, Flex and Edge at DTP, and every kind of vehicles behind Marathon.

  5. I ordered a 2018 Platinum Expy last August. It was built on 12-01-2017 and is shown on COTUS as awaiting shipment since then. We have plans to take it on an extended trip in a couple of weeks. Apparently my dealer is not able to get a delivery date. This is very frustrating since I have found other Expys (stock orders) showing up in dealerships around the state. Several have higher VIN numbers which is curious. Is there a Ford Customer Service number I could call to find out when my vehicle will be here? The window sticker shows it is a Special Order and will ship by Convoy.

They all show they are going to ship by convoy. VIN numbers are not built in sequence. Stock orders are built before special orders when a model first launches.

I don't know of a phone number you could call, but if you post the VIN I could look it up for you.
