  1. Yes, that is correct. And the vehicle will get scheduled per the dealers allocation. Once it gets scheduled, it gets its VIN, and because it's a F150 & we have two F150 plants, it will be assigned the plant that it will be built in. Right now, the order does not show where it is to be built.

  2. Woodhaven Stamping is still running. KCAP is still making the steel F-150, so we are still supplying them. We also stamp parts for the Focus, Super Duty and Expedition/Navigator. Besides getting work from WHSP (some which was ours to begin with), BSP and CSP has sent some jobs to us. Some of this work from BSP and CSP is short term; balance out, press issues at their plant, etc. When KCAP stops making the steel F-150, Woodhaven's manpower will shrink. Many Woodhaven people are waiting to move on to Dearborn (DSP, DDMP, DTP), or are already there. Some people have already gone to FRAP, while others are waiting to go to MAP.

As far as Woodhaven Stamping closing, no one will know until after the September 2015 contract.

  3. Other than a new outer for the Navigator, we have no new work coming. Besides the F150 work, we also stamp many parts for the Mustang, Focus/Escape/C-Max, and Expedition/Navigator. There has been talk of the Focus work going to MAP. Also, I think the Expedition/Navigator gets a redo in MY 17. If that happens, I'm sure they will move the jobs that we do now down to KTP.

  4. I would not be suprised to see Woodhaven be another stamper for Flat Rock and Avon Lake stamping parts for the Mustang and the next gen Taurus/MKZ. I did hear a while back that Chrysler was looking at perhaps purchasing Woodhaven, but I have my doubts.

The Mustang parts have all be assigned, with Flat Rock stamping most of them, and other Ford plants stamping the rest. Flat Rock will also stamp Fusion parts. Not sure about the next Taurus/MKZ , but I'd bet Chicago would keep stamping them.

  5. We really don't know what is going to happen here at WSP, but I'm sure we will find out after the next contract. I don't see it staying open on a smaller scale, it makes no sense financially with a building this size.

As far as Dearborn Stamping doing all the F150 work, that is incorrect. Besides DSP stamping parts, Buffalo Stamping, Michigan Stamping, Chicago Stamping, and DDMP will be making parts for the F150.

  6. Got that right.

Word is Dearborn Engine is going to go to an AWS. Wonder where they are going to get the tradespeople to do it. We are short in the Truck Plant now.

Look on page 197C of the National Agreement, under "Skilled Trades Competitiveness". I expect the company to use less trades, doing more work. These "Teams" are coming at every plant very soon! And not just for trades, production too!

  7. Ford already only pays time and a half after

    40 Hours to production workers....

If Ford is not doing that for skilled trades they need

    to start......

Ford pays double time if Sunday is your 7th day worked. You must work Saturday to get the double time on Sunday. It has nothing to do with skilled trades! I'm getting real tired of your anti-skilled trades shit! Read the contract before you open your mouth!

  8. Exactly. There is 40 minutes of "relief" per straight-8-hour shift - this is per contract (technically 44, but the mods in 2009 reduced it to 40)... I was adding lunch into the relief time as well. I guess I consider lunch "relief" because it is relief from the crappy ass overloaded jobs at DTP.

There is no lunch on a straight 8 shift.

  9. Well most of the hilo's at dtp have very week batteries and right now it takes an hour on a large machine to get around a 20% boost. I keep hearing abut new equiptment coming but nothing yet. I do know that the hilo repair guys are keeping busy with all of the breakdowns and over heated units. Quite often the batteries will not charge when they get to low ( the unit produces an error code) because of their high battery temps and faulty battery fans. If the 3 shift thing is going to happen Ford is going to have to make a large investment in this area.

All of our hilos are leased. They get changed out every 2 or 3 years. We just got new hilos at shutdown. The chargers look new also.

  10. dtp has many issues to include parking... hilo's... they do not have a battery changing area they are all plug in and there is no way they can do 5- 8's without a battery area to change they when they go down.

We don't change hilo batteries anymore. About 3 years ago, they installed quick charging stations throughout the plant, full charge in about 10 minutes or so.
