  1. Has anyone tried the hood struts to replace the prop rod, such as those offered by American Muscle ? Seems like a good idea....

I have used the MRT struts on both my 05 and the 11. Easy to install, no drilling/rivetting, work very well.

  2. Just thought I would throw in my .02 here-

I had the problem with the clutch pedal sticking when shifting at high rpms (around 6200 to 6400). There was a TSB

and the pedal assembly was replaced- problem solved in my case. I have had no other problems with this transmission-

no notchy, no grinding, not hard to get into gear. I am happy with this car/tranny and feel I will be able to enjoy it for years

to come. The car has not been tracked, and doubt it ever will, but it has been run through the gears many times...

hard not too, it's soooo much fun, even for a senior citizen as myself.

There are always problems with new vehicles, but that is why we have warrantys. If you do not want to have potential problems then your best bet is to wait a few years to make sure all the bugs (big and small) are worked out. I bought a new 05 when they came out

and loved it, but the 11 is just so much more.

  3. I drove a base GT a couple weeks ago, and then picked up mine yesterday, and I have yet to have

the "skip shift" kick in, and I was not pushing the car hard all of the time. I don't see that it will be a

    big issue...

  4. Don't have the current produciton numbers but as of April 1 Ford had over 17,700 new Mustangs on the lots of dealers. With a 79 day supply.

Somehow I find this number to be very difficult to believe. Therre are wayyyy too many of us still waiting for cars that were ordered, and wayyyy too few on dealer lots- there are NONE in any dealer possession within 50 miles of me, and I bought from one of the biggest Mustang dealers in the Northeast !

  5. :sos:

:ohsnap: What was your estimated Delivery Date?

I wonder if it is a Rail issue. Mine will travel by Truck. :stats:

    ETA was (still is!) 5/2

Yes, mine will go by rail when it ever gets released.

Got call from dealer yesterday saying his Rep told him there were a "lot" of '11s on quality checks for

transmission issue, trying to get more info on this- does anyone know anything about this issue? and what

    the current status is ?

At least today when I called CS, it is no longer showing in production, it has been produced (was told this 3 weeks ago!)

Maybe that means it has been QC'd and will potentially be released soon for shipping ??? I hope so...

  6. Even though the 2011 Mustang shipping release was issued weeks ago, we've still got a 2011 Mustang GT Convertible that was produced on April 7th and still sitting at the plant!

Agreed- my GT coupe was built 4/8, and still there ?? What's the story ????

  7. I have the window sticker, which from the info my dealer has, and the response from the CR, is incorrect. The vehicle was built on the 8th. I had been told this by CR prior to calling last week, when it showed up as "in production". My dealer is trying to contact his Rep to find out what is going on.

I am merely trying to see if someone here can add any assistance............

I had a problem when I ordered my 05, it was built 4/26/05, and then disappeared into a black hole for 9 weeks

before it was "found" and then shipped, arr 8/9/05. I just don't want to go thru the same probem again..........

If anyone can add or help in any way, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thx

    Dale

  8. Can anyone give me an update on my vehicle please ? vin 1ZVBP8CF6B5108256 I was told it was produced 4/8 two weeks

ago when I inquired. I called today and they told me it shows " in production with scheduled ETA of 4/2" which was

yesterday?? I'm confused to say the least. I had a problem when I ordered my '05, was built, and then got

"lost for almost 2 months before shipping to dealer.

    Any help will be appreciated...

  9. Anyone in the Colorado area planning on attending this? I went in 04 and 05 when I first got my Bullitt and it's a blast! I am going this year with my son and my Bullitt. A friend of mine is bringing up his 03 Cobra convert. Check out www.rmmr.org. The years I went there were about 800 to 900 cars there. It runs from June 17th - 20th and registration ends May 15th. Hope to see you there!

Darn, just went thru there 2 weeks ago to deliver my 05 to my daughter in CA, would have liked to stop

for a couple days if this was going on, just my luck...............

  10. I have never been a fan of Car and Driver so I don't really read any of their articles. It looks like MotorTrend used a Glass Roof option Mustang, so doesn't that mean that this mustang is heavier then a Mustang with out that option? The whole roof has to be strengthened to have the glass installed right? Which would make a regular Mustang 5.0 lighter or in another words faster right. Am I right or could I just be blowing smoke?

I saw somewhere that the glass roof only adds about 28 lbs...

  11. The Mustang GT runs fine on regular, and it is the recommended fuel. The only reason to run premium fuel would be if you had a tuner and upgraded parts (intake, exhaust, etc) for increased performance. My 05 GT

runs well and performs great, but is completely stock . It's a great car for performance, ride and handling. You can't go wrong in my opinion.

  12. I would rather see them make an option for the actual "vents" that were usable, but still gave

visibility. This would be more "practical" as you could really get a flow thru ventilation without having

the noise of the windows being down- could also leave vents open as means to keep interior heat down

during summer months (or all year in South/Southwest).
