  1. What the hell? Anybody else? I Work A crew Body.
  2. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25807263
  3. Because of the length of our layoff, you must continue to pay your premium on your own, or else may find yourself dropped. Phone # 1.800.742.8215 - Mutual of Omaha (optional life insurance). This information was not provided @ the plant as part of any handouts we were given.(At least, I never saw any)
  4. Never saw or heard this on A crew body shop, but why would we. This is great news, guess we'll start having to eat our pets.
  5. Any information on refresh and street date would be appreciated. Everything i've found online are just renderings and photoshops.
  6. I"d read a small blurb in the paper two weeks ago, that NAP had four potential bidders and when one was chosen that deciscion would be made public. The article did state that the property would remain industrial, so I figured it would only be a matter of time before the ridiculous rumours by the usual suspects would start. Lo and behold, yesterday I was told Toyota or Mazda would be buying the plant. Any takers?
  7. Just found out payroll has screwed up my w-2. H&R Block agent has pointed out to me the amounts stated in boxes 16 and 18 on your w-2 need to equal the amount stated in box 1.( Boxes 16 and 18 are state and local wages). Makes perfect sense so far right? Well, the good people in payroll have me earning $11,137.60 in Virginia, and I reported to work at DTP on January 8, 2007. It seems they also flip-flopped my wages on my sub w-2, stating in box 16 (Michigan) I earned 453.38 and in box 18 (Virginia) I earned $1,393.64. Now, As I said, I was laid off 1st week of 2007 in Norfolk and we were laid off a total of three weeks at DTP, so you can easily see those amounts have been switched. Has anyone from NAP also noticed this problem with there w-2's and if so do you have a contact #?
  8. My bad- I actually meant xmas vacation pay.
  9. Just checked my checking account balance, no direct deposit of xmas bonus.Should I be expecting it this week or next ( 12/27). Been on layoff at DTP past two weeks and not sure of timeline for deposit. Thanks and merry xmas! 11
  10. No smartass answers here, just the phone number. 1-866-472-7878.
  11. It's sad little men who find the anonymity of message boards empowering, the reason message boards can suck. Dude, you did nothing to contribute to the post, maybe, you made yourself chuckle or got your flacid penis to twitch a bit. My advice to you- just die.
  12. Does anyone have sound information on what transferees from other states need to do in order to secure their unemployment check? The information we've been given sucks and is very confusing. I'm under the impression the co. has filed for us, however, our base year for benefits will be based in the last state we worked in, and we've been told we need to contact them. After contacting Virginia, I've found my claim is closed there. So, do I go thru MARVIN now. I don't think so, because i've only worked in MI. since Jan. 8th, '07. If this post seems ignorant, it's only because in 15 years of employment with Ford in two other states, I've never had to deal with unemployment issues, the UAW local did everything for us. Thanks for any help!
  13. Are we getting holiday pay for last week, or is it gonna be Unemp/Sub?
  14. 782 production workers and 56 skilled trades workers allowed to go to DTP. Begins Jan. 8th. Number of transfers equals about a third of workforce at NAP. So, looks like whoever wants to go will be able to go. Signups started yesterday and as of the late afternoon was about 150 signed up. Also... as of yesterday, 1250 signed up for buyout packages.IMO, 300 - 400 might sign up at NAP(for DTP). Deadline to sign up is Nov. 30 and we go back to work Dec. 4th. So, I'm assuming at that time they will have departure dates( but this is NAP management, so you never know). 2200 hourly workforce - 1250 buyout/education pkgs. - 836 potential transfers = 114 left. Just a guess, but looks like the $100,000 buyout/ education pkg. people will be there till the doors shut. Transferees will be going in Jan. and the plant will officially be on 1 shift come Jan. I would think the guys with 30 years and above will be gone next. But, Ford logic...
  15. My supervisor called me with the info at home, around 6pm. And the holdup is our local trying to negotiate transfers for skilled trades, which there are no openings.Relax, January will be here soon enough, and so will a foot of snow.
  16. If you showed interest in the survey taken last week, you should be recieving info in the mail within the next few days. I'm sure it will also be in the Virginian Pilot. Three waves of NAPPERS to DTP in Jan.
  17. Our superindendant came around the body shop today surveying who might be interested in transfering.Told us Labor Relations will have signups this week. It will be seniority based on the # of spots at DTP. A rep from DTP will be sent to NAP for a question and answer meeting.Still, no definites on a report to work date. Talk around the campfire is mid January, but who knows.
  18. Can anyone contribute buyout interest at their hvc location?
  19. Should we have expected anything different? It really has become an "every man for himself" atmosphere.Karma will take care of them all.
  20. I'm totally assuming things will be as you say. When we relocated to NAP from Edison 4 years ago, alot of preferred jobs were posted before we got there, and we were placed according to where they needed us.We signed postings as they became available. Anyone from NAP reading this, please be aware of this potential situation. If you're hanging fenders in the body shop, don't think for a minute that's what you'll be doing at DTP.Consider yourself lucky to be in body at all.Hope this can inform your decision, whatever it may be.
  21. NAP=DTP. There's already a mob forming to find dtpm when we get there. Do you remember the hillbilly rape scene in "Deliverance"?
  22. I can't be certain,if it was 30 or 60 days, but your first installment is 10,000.Second, a year later 15,000, and final installment, 2 years later 20,000. My personal situation, after taxes 28,000.
  23. Sorry if my words were somewhat harsh. I hope you can understand, that, no matter what decision any of us are making, it still is stressful, and to have armchair experts on here, who essentially are telling you what they THINK, not KNOW to be facts, does not help anyone. DTP had set up a table very indiscretely on Wednesday(It seems our local didn't want them really advertising the fact that they were there- I guess to protect the feelings of those who a transfer was not an option?) My best to you and your family as well. Peace.
