Akirby......first, do I need it, no. I am an older retired guy that is used to having the rear tires do the work. Where I am, 3 - 4 times a year in a little snow front wheel drive would be fine. I guess it's just a peace of mind thing. Besides the hit in mileage and initial costs, what are the down sides?

So Akirby.....is this a worthy AWD system and is it the same one as used on the Fusion?

I am interested in a 2015 Taurus Limited AWD. That said, and knowing nothing about AWD I have asked a couple of dealership sales people how it works. One said 4 wheels all the time, another said one front wheel drives and another one kicks in when the front one slips.
Is there someone on here that knows for sure and can set my mind to rest? Why don't they know?

After almost 6 months of waiting, my candy apple red metallic GT arrived. Great car ! HUGE improvement over the last new one I bought, 1994 Cobra.
Only one complaint, a small paint blemish on the left fender, spot looks more frosted, than metalic. The folks at Borla installed a cat back Attack system, and next week I am adding 3M clear bra on the front bumper and leading edges. Very happy with the way the car drives and handles, now just have to get up to speed on all the NAV and electronic dodahs !
Thanks to all here who offered information during the (painful) ordering process. Oh yes, the $1500 rebate did not hurt either ![/font]
WOW!!!!! My favorite color too. Are you near a Borla outlet or something??

Okay will some one please explain to me why the BREMBO brakes are not available with the automatic. 
I for one would love to get a 5.0, auto, vert, with brembo brakes.

The explaination is simple and can be said in one word...."FORD"! You are not the only one that would PONY up for this option....get it...pony!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I pressed the wrong button yesterday.
I was trying to find out when the Taurus would be getting the upgraded 3.5Ti-VCT V6? I think the 2011 has the older 3.5 with variable valve timing only on the intake cams.
If anyone knows, I would appreciate a response.

I have about 3500 miles on my 5.0. I changed the oil at 3000 miles, as I have always done with new cars. I refilled with Mobil 1, 5W-20 and used the Motorcraft filter. So far no ticking noise. I have been using Mobil 1 since 1978, and never had an engine problem.
SDCALSPCL....How often will you change your oil, using Mobil 1?

Just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that the Yellow Blaze paint is the same color as seen on the Mustang in the
Continental Tire Series Mustang and in the 2011 Mustang brochure with the number 15 on the side?

Has anyone else been able to get a new 2010 Mustang GT with the factory installed stripe package???
Ordered my new Mustang GT May 30th, received on August 18th with out the stripes. Dealer was told that the factory supplier had "issues" with production volumes. I have the "kit" on order with the dealer, but no ETA. Very concerned about washing/waxing car prior to stripe installation. Furthermore, not all dealers are experienced with installing stripes.
Any comments, thoughts....
If it were me, I would have them painted on. I don't like the tape. You always have issues with waxing the car and if you ever take them off...the paint is now a different color. If you have to have stripes...paint is the only way, for me. I don't know why the $48,000 GT500 has tape stripes!

I was about to pull the trigger on a new Ranger Sport 4X4 when I ran across the article on Ford.com about the upcoming Sport Trac Adrenalin. I did look at the Sport Track earlier but did not like the front end or the fact that it had roof rails. Both problems are solved with the Adrenalin. I know its not a real pick up truck but it would meet my needs.
I was just wondering what everybodys thoughts were about this vehicle? I have been reading about the transmission problems. Hopefully they will be resolved.

Well I am new here, but i have reading your posts for about 3 weeks.
I have a 07 Sports Track - Bought 4-17-08. I now have 15040 miles. After two weeks I felt a problem.
Many items you guys wrote sound like I wrote them. I got my track back Friday morning after this "NEW Fix" My truck can now spin tires like my 05 GT! But if you punch the gas to pass or get on the interstate to merge it stays in a low gear. The shift points are way too long. Like 5500 to 6000 rpm!
Friday I got on the gas to go up the ramp and merge in and i was hitting 6000 rpm and doing 57-60 miles an hour. When I let off the gas the truck sounds like it goes into neutral. I was told it would take several days for the tranny to adjust?
My wife could feel the truck pulse while doing 45 on our home road and every once in awhile if feels as though it can't find the right gear.
Guess monday I will be talking my "My freindly" Ford Cust. rep (whole nother story) I will let you know what I find out.
Any body know when the recall will be listed? I had a hard time finding out I really was not nutts about my sports trac. They kept telling me that was just the way it was for the first few months.
I am hoping for a buy back (cross fingers) I would get a 07 f150 if they will help> Other wise I will lose almost 8000$.
Any other info would be of great help.

Well.....I for one will not be buying the next F150. I don't care what kind of engine it has, gas or diesel, 200 horsepower or 5000. It is to friggin big! When will they listen. In 2009 if the all new and much waited for Ranger is here, it will be mine. If not I will most likely jump ship and get a Frontier. Yes I said Frontier. In my opinion its the next best choice. But I would rather have the Ranger....can you hear me FORD????????????????? I am not alone here.

The truck only needs a V8 and the 300 horse 4.6 will do nicely!!!!!!!!!! Ford could not make enough of them.

I have a question. The manual transmission on my 1986 V6 Ranger is failing. I have access to a 1987 Bronco ll manual transmission. Are comparable? Will the Bronco tranny work in the Ranger?

Dead Battery (again)

Well...I have a 2014 STX Sport reg. cab 5.0. My battery went dead the first time about a month ago. Its happened three times now. Thank you road side service...garage side service in my case. Ford changed the battery after the second time. After the third time they kept it for three days doing tests and found nothing. Sorry.
Until it first went dead, when I would shut off the truck, I could never continue to listen to the radio until I opened a door. The instrument panel would show a battery and say it was conserving the battery...or some words like that. After Ford changed the battery that has not happened. But still after it sits for four days the battery goes dead.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
