  1. I'm guessing that they took a generic picture of an American neighborhood and superimposed the Kangoo in the driveway. There can't be any '70's Chrysler T & C's running around France can there? It is a very odd choice for a backround car.

You'd be surprised what cars some Europeans are into...there's a site, www.imperialclub.com that has alot of European members.

I had an offer from some French dude who wanted to buy the '73 Chrysler New Yorker I had a few years ago.

  2. It comes in 4 long pieces. With a decline with arrows and caution on both ends. It is a temporary ramp with a styrofoam center covered with black covering. The made both myself and my partner on the opposite of me new ramps that took months to make. It has plastic plugs with attach to keep the entire ramp from moving. I have been coming in and setting up in the morning because I am there early, but the forman just told me today that I also have to break it down before I leave on my own time. I was willing to compromise, but now it looks like I will have to do my job without the ramps at all. I work on the door line and install the inside door/window moldings. I am 5' tall, and it will be difficult but not impossible to do my job without the ramp.

Can't they find a job that is more suitable to your height or other physical issues? Or, is this a cake job that you don't want to give up?

I'm 6'2...if they put me on a short person's job, I just say I can't do it. I don't ask that the plant be altered to suit me.

  3. Yes they do....Ford is a little more diverse!! Maybe they will all learn a lesson from this. They squeeze their vendors until they have to file bankruptcy!! Sad for all those emplyees. Julie Brown doesn't give 2 shits about any of they!! I heard that chrysler was at the doors wanting their equipment and the cops wouldn't let them in!! Has anyone heard this?

Haven't heard that...but what I'm wondering is if the plastech thing will impact Ford at all. I know Ford buys alot of parts from them.

  4. And how many people buy the low option XL work truck? I agree, the F150 does look similar to the old one, but not the same. The truth is though, the Ram looks very much like the last model as well. People will buy the truck. There have been many useful changes made.

I wasn't referring to bottom of the line work trucks...more middle level XLT, like most people buy. The trucks without all the shiny side cladding.

  5. Well, it is all new: every body panel has been changed, the engines have received updates (and will be followed by new engines), the frame has been upgraded and is all new, the interior is all new. How could this truck not be considered all new. While it may look similar to it's current bretheren, it is truly different, in every, way shape, form, etc.

Have you seen it, up close? Have you driven it? I have...and it looks far too much like the current model to be called "all new".

Those same arguments were made for the Freestar..it's all new, every part was changed, etc. Still, it looked like the vehicle it replaced.

If you want to see just HOW similar the '09 is to the '04..look at a lower optioned truck, not the chrome festooned "platinum" edition..it looks like the same truck, with the Super Duty style front fascia and a different tailgate.

  6. Yes but the difference is, the F150 is a refresh, the Freestar was supposed to be a "new" vehicle. Joe public took one look and said, no, that's just a refresh! Now if the had kept the Windstar name, I don't think it would have done any worse but, they would have saved a shitload of money it costed them to change the name.

Sorry, but I don't see the difference. Ford is NOT calling the '09 F150, "refreshed", or "restyled". They are calling it the "all new" 2009 F150, something it clearly is NOT. They called the Freestar "all new", something it, clearly, was NOT.

Again, the "all new" Freestar, that looked like a Windstar, flopped, so why would the "all new" F150, that looks like a 2004 with an upside down Super Duty fascia and JC Whitney shiny bits, do any better?

  7. That Ram is a sharp looking truck....the F150 refresh looks cobbled together, tacked on new front fascia on the '04 body.

Glad I have enough seniority to hang on after DTP loses a shift.

Before anyone flames me....remember how people said the Freestar was all new, pointed out all the individual changes, yet the thing looked like a Windstar? What happened to it?

    The F150 looks like a facelifted '04.

  8. Wow----Phil didn't have much hair even THEN! Makes me feel 1/10th better!

IMHO, one of Phil's best drum performances was on the Robert Plant song, "Im in the Mood."

As rabid of a Genesis fan as I am (and, BTW, I don't mind hijacking this thread because it's so stupid), it's hard to nail down my favorite Phil drum performance...I know I thoroughly enjoyed his drum solo, actually, his and Chester's, at their show at the Palace in September.

    Prog rules!

You have to go back pretty far to find Phil with alot of hair...oddly, he did have hair when that pic was taken, had to be '74.

Here's a pic from '76..look at all his hair:

  10. Thats pretty odd my direct deposit hit my account last friday as it should have ,but i have yet to recieve the pay stub since i have been off the last few weeks .

Just got my unenjoyment check today and and anticipating my sub my tues or wed.

Have also heard rumor from an uncomfirmed source alot of downtime this year at DTP i would assume before the launch of the 09 ,just a heads up.

I'm confused...how did you get sub pay before your unemployment check? Is this something to do with VA unemployment? I didn't call for unemployment until this past Monday, so I won't get sub at least for another week...if everything goes as it should.

  11. It is DTP!!! I'm not worry about unemployment because Va is paying me for now, I've received my first check from VEC 12/21. I'm talking about how they continue to mess up employees that transferred from other plants sub pay.

It IS DTP. These idiots act like running 3 shifts is rocket science...they can't handle a bump, they can't handle sub pay..they can barely pay people properly on a weekly basis. KTP ran 3 shifts for years, MTP ran 3 shifts for years..it isn't something new. Ask anyone in the union or labor relations WHY they can't do their jobs, and they give you a laundry list of excuses, or Joe Windbag flat out lies to you.
