  1. i did my unemployment today as well but i know alot of people got a letter that said call on or after aug.17th,2008. thats next sunday, after we have worked a week. thats another way labor relations fucks with people
  2. This is from the highlights.... "Three additional bonuses will be paid in the second, third and fourth years of the agreement. In October 2008, UAW Ford workers with seniority as of Sept. 15, 2008 will receive a lump-sum performance bonus equal to 3 percent of qualified earnings (including base wages, COLA, overtime, shift and seven-day operator premiums, call-in pay, vacation, holiday and other paid time off) ov the preceding 52 pay periods. Glad to be of help.
  3. if im not mistaken, its based on eligible wages for the past year
  4. well, i commend you for all your families military serive. i served my time as well. i dont know where vermillion is, but in louisville its not easy. the desire to be american is in my blood to.....so is the desire to support my family on my income. i have to do that by whatever means necessary.
  5. amen brother......i will take anything they give me. hell, we all know theyve taken enough away
  6. well....when you have been "held down" by the union while the company "dry fucks you in the ass" there tends to be a little bitterness. i apologize......
  7. no, but he is a friend that i went to school from 3rd grade until we graduated high school, enlisted in the military with, went to war with and got hired at ford 2 yrs prior to him. so, yes....i do know the situation very well. yes, im sure there is a little drama involved to it as well. what goes on at ford with no drama?
  8. i think the comparison he is making is that ford buys LOTS of thier parts from other countries....why? because they get them cheaper than if the parts were made in america. so, yes....in a sense fords business model is a little like wal-marts. you think ford is hurting for money as bad as they lead the union workforce and the american public to believe? if they were, mr. mullaly wouldnt be getting the millions a year he gets for the shitty job he is doing running the company. he is gonna millk every nickel out of us and jump ship.
  9. well, im not choosing to be a part of the problem. but, as a single father, that gets no child support and was stuck with exactly 83% of the bills i had while married......i dont have alot of choice. im not being greedy nor selfish, but im sacrificing on a daily basis. just as you and everyone else, the amount of money it takes to fill my tank has nearly doubled as has the grocery bill, all in the last 12 months. so at this point, it is ME for MYSELF and CHILDREN
  10. amen brother.....with $4 a gallon gas, im all about saving elsewhere
  11. well, it didnt happen all in a day. its been over a period of time, first ford put him off work and was paying him, then they said its unicares responsibility and it was a long drawn out process getting denied by them, now ford is saying they have no work even though farmer has approved his restrictions and jobs for him to do but labor relations is telling him that those jobs are not an option. he has the seniority to hold the jobs but ford wont let him have them. i think he has an appointment with an attorney wednesday.
  12. why are they wasting all that paper? the first page tells me all i need to know. it goes a little something like this....."ford motor company reserves the right to run its business the way it sees best fit" or something along those lines. that tells me the rest of the contract is a piece of shit because ford is gonna do what ford wants to do. just my thoughts
  13. thats possible for one of them, but the others, no way. i know they are legit.
  14. i understand about qualifing for unicare, but its a work related injury.....as in, hurt at FORD. so, now why is FORD not responsible?
  15. damn, kentucky has a hard enough time just cutting checks, i cant imagine if they tried to do debit cards. although that would create a few more jobs off welfare. maybe thats whats wrong with the place??
  16. well, i know 4 people thats in the same boat. workers comp is telling them they have reached MMI therefore, workers comp is no longer responsible. unemployment wont pay because its a work related injury, not a layoff, and unicare wont pay because its a work related injury, not an illness or a personal injury.
  17. they told him that kentucky has the right to "let someone go" for any reason at anytime, and it sounds to them like ford was trying to get rid of him
  18. i have a friend at KTP who has permanent restrictions from a work related injury and was put on a NWA leave. now, workers comp and unicare is refusing to pay him, nor will they let him return to work to do jobs that are within his restrictions and have been approved by the plant doctor. is this breaking a law of any kind??
  19. if you get sub pay a week after unemployment, you are damn lucky. try 2 to 3 weeks at KTP. its all a crock of horse shit.....ford should cut our sub pay immedaitely, its not like they dont know how much its gonna be. they say it has to be after they see how much unemployment benefits are. its just a way for ford to fuck with our money
  20. its approximately $1000 off every $7000 on the sticker price. if the car stickers for $28,000 the approx. A-plan price would be $24,000
  21. i took a few voluntary weeks off and i havent worked snce around memorial day weekend. i would call, but im sure thats what it means. i know labor will pick up full sub pay after the UI benefits run out
  22. it means if the unemployment office stops paying you that ford will pick up paying full sub pay. where do you work that youve only been off 5 weeks?
