as far as giving anything back i say no way. but maybe because we are already closing. which is why when the boss said clean up we have big wigs coming i said "why will they close us for being messy?"

 

they want give backs and reductions. it was their mistakes that got us where we are. they were pocketing the profits from trucks and not looking to the future. they got so rich and so comlacent they have no clue how to fix the company they run. they keep having to hire specialists at outrageous costs to see what hourly workers have been saying for years. for what ford is paying its turnaround team they could put that into improving current products to raise sales. everyone knew gas was going to go up. ford doesnt even have a sub compact car. (granted it would be a import pos if they did).

 

and how is it a ranger gets the same gas milage as a f-150. why havent the v-6 engines been refined like the v-8s. ford didnt want to invest in its self thats why.

 

gas is at an average of 3 bucks a gallon. yet no 4cyl 4X4 option on a ranger. no manual trans for v-8 f-150. these are only a few things that wouldnt require a lot of work or money to make them available. or how about a smaller optional engine for the focus.

 

its because these options dont have the high profit margins of powerful engines and auto trannys. and thats where executive pockets get filled. they cant see that smaller profits from more volume of sales would make money also.

 

and MY OPINION as far as uaw labor costs in the us its an issue but not all that severe. and looked at all wrong by corporate america. we are compensated fairly for what we do. for 15 an hr i dont know if i would want to work in a plant and if i did i sure wouldnt care about the company. soon no one in america will be able to afford the products that companies are moving over seas to make cheaper because we will all be unemployed. as jobs leave this country more people are looking for work which is supply and demand. it drives wages down. so products need to get cheaper which sends them over seas etc. its a spiral to the bottom. while executives get rich america dies. and the government is all for it. after all they get paid like executives too.

 

after reading this over i realize its a scattered post from an overly tired autoworker but im going to post it anyway sorry.
