  1. I have an 08 Escape with a dealer option remote starter, 1 button with the Ford Logo on the fob. Today, I tried to use it , the engine gave half a crank, the quit. this happened twice.

So I tried to "valet" it from inside the car, when I held down the button, it locked the doors, turned on the accessories, chirped about 6 or 8 times, and did nothing else. This is all it

does now. How can I reprogram it....Ideas anyone????

    Thanks !!!!!!!!!!

  2. Hi otaku. :D Assuming all other variables are equal (i.e. octane rating, fuel quality etc.), yes, you will definitely get better fuel mileage with "traditional gas".

As to running better and lasting longer without repairs. Well, conventional wisdom says that over the long run "traditional gas" will be better. But it is less clear cut and quantifiable than the mileage question.

    Good luck. :beerchug:

I am not 100% sure, but I've heard that the alcohol additive in the E10 will break down any rubber components add clog the fuel filter tha is IN th fuel tank...the repair shops will want to drop the tan, but an easy way is to just pull the back seat,,still expensive either way though to save a few cents on gas.. :stop:

  3. Perhaps it's me and I'm missing something but why should you have to pay anything for this issue when I expect that the vehicle is still under warranty? I'm going to have to ask my Service Manager about this tomorrow.

Ypu should have recieved a letter of recall on the heater core by now...mine came in mid December... It is an official recall , check the edge site

  4. Hello all;

I took the buyout in 03-08, and thanks to the economy tanking, and me not being as ready as I should have, I am in deep doo doo, and

find that I am in need of a decent paying job.If the opportunity occurs, can retiree's return to the MAP / Wayne ISA to work? I can't

find a job around here, it's either my age, 55, or because I'm a union man ?? I go to plenty of interviews, but no callbacks.....

    Thanks

    Don

  5. Someone at Sterling needs to tell Pannebacker that he can only vote for himself!!! If he doesnt go a day without his name in the paper he starts a petition!!! Quit acting like the peoples savior Pannebacker!!!!!! This company is ruthless and even if Sterling voted for it they would still opt for $14 an hour people to do the job!! Like Ford ever intended on honoring their commitments!!! Stop going to the scab paper with your union groveling they dont care about us!!! They print these stories with smiles on their faces!!! Fear mongering fuck!!! Let your leadership do their job and call Ford on their bullshit!!! :banghead:

So,is the report on Fox correct or not? Will Sterling keep their product, or more misrepresented reporting as always on

    Detroits great news stations ??????

  6. On Fox 2 Detroit news this morning, at 6:50 a.m., I heard that Ford was sending production from Sterling Hts to Germany due to the contract

being voted down. What kind of Bovine Scatology is this? The Union at Sterling asked International for another vote, for whatever good

that will do.....I guess when you own the ball and you get mad, you take it and go home and pout???

    Retiree, Local 900, 03-08

  7. I appreciate each and every one of your comments and suggesions; but I think my point is being missed. The company is doing what every they want and the union is showing no resistance. This is just one particular instance of soooo many. Please correct me if I'm wrong; doesnt the contract state that we are only reguired to work have to work two consecutive saturdays then one off ?

I am very thankful to be able to work for KCAP where are products our in such demand and i feel for bros and sisters who r out of work , but I still feel the contract should be followed.

If I am not mistaken, I do believe that you are entitled to an "op-off" card, if you work the full week prior to the 3rd Sat, you are then allowed the day off

without pay.....It has been many moons since I was entitled to one of those. ( Wayne ISA retiree 03-08)

  8. Can anyone explain the LOW trailering rating....other than that, I'd buy one in a heartbeat !!!!

I would need the 9k for my tt, even though it only weighs in at 5600 lbs, it is only the sane thing

to do once you load every thing up, you can't be to sure.....

    Thanks

  9. I was wondering if a retiree return to an open job at the MAP when it opens? Of course it would be a "non

union", entry level type of position. The recession really hit me hard, and I can't find a job anywhere, just a thought...

    Thanks !!!!

  10. There is now an official recall....see your dealers service rep....

MY APOLOGIES PEOPLE.... I was misled,, and did not follow up myself on this issue....

Just heard from our car salesman. The transmission is in and I can bring the car on Monday.

It was not a recall as I thought, it is a known problem and particles in the transmission.

    Sandy

Again, I'm sorry for the confusion... :chairshot:

  11. I checked yesterday and again today, no recall on my VIN! If you have a account setup at the Ford Owner's website, check for any recalls on your VIN.

My sisters check engine light came on ( with the wrench ) , took it in to Taylor Ford , Taylor Michigan, Service rep told her that tranny was being recalled, go and drive it until the new trans came in, this was Mar 02,09. Hope this helps ......
