Did you claim 99 or "Exempt" ?
I've claimed 99 since february. I was expecting them to take the taxes out as people on this board were saying it was inevitable.
-
I SPECIFICALLY asked a Certified VA Public Accountant about this and he told me "It doesn't make any difference if you claim 1 million; they are still going to tax it the same way as claiming 1. It's considered a bonus and the amount of exemptions has no bearing on the tax being withheld” So did the laws change for 2007 or something???
Yeah I'm not sure. I was damn sure shocked when i opened the check. Just got off the phone with a buddy who took the buyout. His check was also expempt from the Fed taxes.

I went to NAP today & picked up my check too! Did anybody else notice that your YTD FEDERAL W2 GROSS was greater than $100,000? I figured that it equalled 40 hours plus cost of living ($1.99). If you look next to EXC ABS PAID, that too equals 40. The only money I got from Ford this year is $100,000. The way I see it, I should have a 40 hour check somewhere...agree???
When I got my check , i got my due vacation time also. My YTD was over $100,000 also, but I picked up 2 checks today. Seems like they didnt give u your vacation check. Call or go and pick that up.

"TexasBound .... So when are the fed's gonna get their money ? And how do you plan on keeping that much ? "
I'll have to pay the Fed a nice chuck of change next tax season. I put $15,000 into a seperate account to gain a little interest to pay off the taxes next year.

I claimed 99 on they didnt take any federal out! I was shocked. I heard that it wouldnt make a difference. I was floored when I opened my check and it was for $88,605.00
Here 's the breakdown.
100000 payment
$0 Federal!
$6045 FICA
$1450 Medicare
$3900 State
$11395 total deductions.
$88,605 check. I'm on the way to the bank now to cash it . Leaving for Texas Feb 1st :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:

I turned down the buy-out, due to the fact it was stated, very clearly, I might add, "once you break service with FOMOCO, you cannot return to the company!!!!!!!!"
Seemed prety clear to me, so I stayed with the Titanic :titanic:
Who are you quoting? Because your info is dead wrong. based on the buyout papers I signed it's stated that you can get hired back into Ford. But for 5 years you cannot take another buyout. What are the odds of another one coming?
Here's what it says under the step program.
"If an eligible employee has recieved a STEP payment and is subsequently rehired by the Company, the employee will not be eligible for any future STEP payments until the employee has 5 or more years of seniority following such rehire. No seniority used to determine the amount of a previous STEP payment shall be used in determining a subsequent STEP payment."
There it is in black and white from Ford Motor. So I think you should stop listening to bob at the vending machine and research a little before spewing out fake quotes.

. Can/do trades move around from plant to plant within the Rouge complex or do you stay in whichever building you are placed?
Any help clarifying how the trades shifts will look with the addition of a third shift would be helpful and appreciated.
Thanx.
Trades move from plant to plant. As a tool and diemaker, I got moved from Tool and Die plant, to Engine, to Frame, to Stamping. it all depends on man power and such.

I took the buyout from DTP, and I leave on Jan 1st. Enjoy my job, I'm packing the family up and moving to Texas. Ford has done alot for my family for the past 29 years. Time to move on.
Death to the BCS!!!

Yes, I am a Tool and Diemaker at the Rouge. They have too many. They hoping people take the buyout. ut i dont know one Diemaker that is going to take it.
-
At the rouge complex they want to get rid of 200 die makers.
-
Yeah stop blaming DTP for the COA.
The whole Rouge complex voted on it.
The buildings that are closing (engine and frame) voted almost unanimously FOR the COA.
DTP and Tool and Die voted against it.
So everyone blaming the DTP for it passing is mislead. DTP didnt want this s***

No they dont, think before you make statements, they cannot take out what you owe on ford credit, dip shit you signed a contract for either five yrs or six, to make payments. FACT.
OWNED!!! :happy feet:

100 g's... such a letdown.
Oh well. I'll take it regardless. That extra 40g's would have came in handy. lol
-

-

I just don't understand how this is possible. $5 pay cut. If you work 40 hours a week for a whole year. This saves the company $10,400/yr/employee.
How does it benefit Ford to pay 100k off the top when youd have to work 10 years before they start reaping the benefits.
-
The Money is the main issue now.
13,000 sounds like a good number if it's only 100k. 100k just don't make sense with a younger work force, % of GEN pool, and guys with 30 yrs that GM has and they got offered 140. They want 39,000 they better up that offer.
100k = 15-18000
140k = 31000
200k = 44000
those are my guesses.

Well we should hear something any day now. The UAW and Ford negotiating buyouts in a "secret" meeting as we speak. Then if Ford gets what they want, the board will vote on it Thursday.
But you know there will be a "mole" that discloses this to the media.
Hopefully right after todays meeting we will hear "SOMETHING"
-
That's all I want. Just enough to get started on doing something different. 70k would be a insult. that's less than one year slary and benefits.
-
Ford had better step up and offer people with over ten years something better. There is NO WAY I am taking something that a person with one year can get. GM only offered people with less than 10 years 70k...over 10 years the 140k. Come on Ford step up and make that offer to us 10 year plus guy's!!!
You sound like another one of those morons. Why should you care how much everyone else gets. as long as your happy with your amount; then worry about that. Everyone in this union thinks they are better than each other because they been there longer. UNITY brother. We all deserve the same peice of the pie. this decision affects us all. Just because you been there longer means your financial future is different than younger senority? Isn't everyone giving up the same $30/hour job?
I just don't understand the logic in some people. Greedy to the very end. Buyouts across the board should e equal because we are all in the same union. We pay the same union dues. We sweat the same from the hard work. It just doesn't make sense to wish the company gives younger senority half of what you get.

When you get a 5 day quit. You have 5 business days to turn your paper work in to medical.
You say he got it on sat. That means he has until Friday 11:59pm to turn his paperwork. Not 48 hours. Not right away.
His appointment is wed. So as long as he turns in the paperwork by Friday midnight. he'll be covered.
