  1. I agree. Don't go unless job security is the MOST important issue.

Schools, Cost of Living, neighborhoods, traffic, taxes, political environment, the welcoming you will get from the others at CAP, the union leadership, .....

From what I have been told and what I know, OHAP is better. But, only you can decide.

Wishing you the best when you make a decision.

i was looking at 20 miles or so south of the plant and things seemed to be reasonable, the same with going into Indiana and looking...is this true? any help, advice?

I would say Chicago and the 'burbs are crazy expensive though...true that! any word on stamping plant jobs?

  2. how many ford employees left at indy and when do they want to close the plant .

I think there is about 700 or so Ford...a few temps still hanging around, not many though...plant is scheduled to close 12\2011 with lay offs starting in a month or so... we will be down to about 50% population by December probably...lines are going quickly, just dumped RV gear and let about 200 of the temps go 3 weeks ago...we had some big changes when that happened... for the record I 100% support what our Union is trying to accomplish here, I do believe they are doing all the necessary things to prepare us for our closing...oh yea, Louisville with be a sweet gig for me right now, just wishing out loud....Peace

  3. Thats what we were told captain.hope at least some of us visteon temps get a piece of that.....

Indy is winding down quickly as well...temps are going to be all gone by end of Feb and blue employees will begin to be ILO in March\April time frame...with more ILO's over the next 12\18 months...i'm certain there is interest from some there to go to Chicago...most here are banking on Louisville needing some bodies after their re tooling...getting interesting here!

  4. there's people here that would murder for that OT right now, it's just one Saturday, I'll take it if ya don't want it

better yet, i'll trade you jobs...i work in Indy and would like it very much to transfer there...what is senority like at Evansville? good luck with you D$#* for a boss, i know it sucks

  5. I wouldn't be surprised if they are waiting until after Jan 1st to pay everyone's sub pay. Possibly some kind of financial reporting scheme to make the 4th quarter of 2008 look a little better.

Indy is running at least a week behind as well...i would dip into my "nest egg" but i used it to make an omelet for my kids this morning...

  6. We'll see how many regret not taking the buyout after our union agress that we should work for 15 bucks an hour and the government forces us to build electric golf carts.

I'm afraid that is what is in store for us.

no way...i'm with Big Country...i'm all in baby...as a matter of fact, after reading a few "good reads" on the site i'm PROUD and i'm staying...i pray that Ford doesn't even touch any monies that may even be offered and we come out of this slump on our own...speaking of slumps, i think some of us know how Mark Grace, retired 1st baseman for the Chi Cubs would break a hitting slump... i'm going right now to find a "Slump Buster and take one for the team ;)"

    Peace to all....

  7. was the inverse offer in certain areas or any employee then by seniority? we are down to 4((people)) on days and 3 on nights...we had 7 on days and 5 on nights less that 2 years ago working 10-12hours...i cut t-bars by the way dept 292...probably ride the storm out...

We are running out the products we have till model changes. Who knows about future work? I'm so feed up with the bullshit and the way things are being ran that I might sign up for inverse senority layoff.... some time away might be good.
  8. This must be a WELL kept secret because I have been trying to find out how much senority it took to get the Arizona HVC bids !!!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

last spot was taken with mid '89 sen...i figure if Ford in Indy stays open until 2010((Maybe longer?)) or so, i may be able to get into a HVC when Indy closes, i bid on Phoinex but my 1-4-93 was not close...

  9. Guys if you only relized how lucky you really are you would not be complaining. I know for a fact that there are many in Nashville that would love the oppurtunity to go to Louisville. We had several hundred take buyouts because they didn't want to go to Kansas City. I would say that out of those that took buyouts more than 80% would have gone up the road 200 miles. Guys just be thankful you only have to go across town instead of 600 miles.

AMEN to that...i'm in Indy and would transfer yesterday if I could...missed my chance about 5 years ago...oh well, i'll be "riding the storm out"

  10. Ok, i've heard Thursday then Friday and i'm now hearing Monday...they gave us 3 days to decide our life changing bids and now they take 7 days to let us know...not tit for tat, eh...oh well, i guess i'm wanting to know if anyone can confirm that they will be posted on Monday...i'm trippin' out here and need meds for my anxiety...any info would be awsome...

    peace my brothers and sisters!

  11. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080404/ap_on_...millions_winner

Willy, do you know Dave Sneath? As long as he keeps buying Ford's---as he said he'll do in this article---let's congratulate him!

No Pump, I sure don't. I wish I was one of his friends he is giving a million to though. I just read the article yesterday morning and thought I would post it. Good to see a hard working blue collar man get it right. Anyway, i'm from Indy cuttin t bars...

  12. Dave Sneath works at the Parts Warehouse in Brownstown, MI...he hit for 136 million...this will slow down the flowback results again, because now we have to fill his spot with the guy that had that down as his first choice 2 flowbacks ago...go to yahoo to read his story...congrats to him...

  13. ACH"s that have the national contract will get the 45,000 if they flow back out of zone thats the key out of zone. we have the same contract, remember we are ford too.

left the plant at 5:15 ((Indy))...no info, no info, no info...sure nice to give us 3 days to decide then the get 10 days to tell...mmmmmm...i need to get on some meds for my anxiety...this is killen me...

  14. If anyone finds the senority it took to get the 7 jobs at the Phoenix HVC plant will you please post them ???

    Hey Hogman-

I've not heard yet about Phoenix but very curious. when are you being told it should be known? Did you bid there? I did, what is your sen.? As soon as i here something i'll post...

  15. That's a whole separate thing. They still needed 77 even after the wixom gen. For AAI:

    Milan - 38

    Monroe - 41

    Saline - 17

    Sheldon Rd. - 7

This is the breakdown of the people who signed as their first choice for AAI

How many plants were able to bid on Lima, Memphis and Phoenix? Our form has Chesterfield, Utica, Sandusky, Indy, Nashville, Tulsa...is there more? I didn't see any bids from your list from Chesterfield or Sandusky.

    Sorry if I missed something...

  16. 200 in Batavia and about the same in Sharonville I heard

Does anyone see a opportunity in Sharonville for gen or ach'ers? Is the bativia and sharonville agreement still good now that we have a new contract? I'm from Indy and would snatch up the opportunity to go to sharonville...

  17. We were told yesterday at our union meeting that temps wouldn't be allowed to vote on the national contract. They wouldn't be covered under the agreement either but the union will still gladly take union dues from them once a month. And if we strike, they have to stike with us. :finger:

in Indy we were told at our meeting as well, "temps will not vote on national contract", our union pres. seem to be against this and is trying to get this looked at...i have mixed feelings about it...

  18. Nice..................

How many times does it have to be said. A lot of ACH workers are STILL FORD employees!!!

I've personally been a Ford employee for over ten years now, many others have been here a lot longer than me. PLEASE stop acting like we are second class citizens.

And, as Wildosvt stated, don't assume that we will automatically vote yes either.

AMEN...15 year employee here, Ford worker, ach plant ((INDY plant aka, "Da country club")), willing to relocate at some point, will vote, not nescessarly voting yes either
