  1. Spent my recent DTP dwn wk in Virginia Beach area (weather was atrocious btw!) and just

wanted to report that the amount of new yodas, hondas, kias, hyundais etc on rd was

discouraging to say the least! Lots of Amer trucks (some tundras and titans too) overall...

but TONS of all kinds of very new and shiney japanese, korean AND german vehicles.

Not good. DC was awash in foreign cars as well. God help us!

  2. That piece of work Shelby does not give a fuck what people think. I wonder how many of those " Alabamians"

drive those Mercedes they build down there. Fuck Shelby and Alabama.

Exactly. Forget Shelby and that worthless state of alabama! They have forgotten bout us, we dont

need them anyhow. They have enough to do bout havin 60% trailer parks and crazy ppl shootin

places up i think. God bless those unfortunate victims but Shelby is an evil scoundral!

  3. I believe there is 400 ILO and I heard they need a total of a 1000? Give or take on these numbers but its close. More importantly, they say truck sales are up but I've been in five different states since we have been on x-mas break and I haven't seen one new truck on the road!

Besides, the barage of new imports aplently on my recent travels along east coast for holidays....

ive seen a quite a few new F-150s and many more new super dutys for some reason!?

Had a nice holiday in VA Bch but glad to be bk in the upper midwest....can we get rid of

    this crazy wind though?? LoL

  4. Shut the hell up! And have a good Holiday!

while i certainly DONT condone violence or defamation of ones property

in ANY WAY..i do think its kinda nuts ppl in midwest would buy as many

foreign cars as they seem to?... i come from VA as many of u know and

proud to work 4 Ford and be a permanent MI resident.... i see lotsa

foreign cars on east coast BUT they have no plants there anymore....

TONS of plants in midwest...how the F**K can somebody buy a toyhonda

rice burner there?...and especially now while this crisis is unfolding w/in

    Big 3/US economy?? :reading:

  5. Man, fuck Corker, fuck Toyota and as far as public relations, we could work for free and some people will still

talk shit about us, so fuck the PR battle.

Maybe you should move to Tennessee if you're agreeing with Sen. Porker.

Dont let some fools on here rattle ya...i agree on the F**K toyota,F**K

southern republicans and those certain southern states involved as

well!..lets kill em w/awesome quality and unity brothers!

  6. Bill ford is scheduled to be on Larry King taking calls on CNN at 9:00pm. I'm sure callers will probably beat us up when they call to talk to him. I hope he sets the record straight on the efforts of the UAW. Let people know its not the workers that are the problem, but the horrible economy that's killing the american and global automotive industry. I saw a report saying Ford of europe was down 21% last month or this month.

Thnkyou for the info. I too hope it goes well in interview! Maybe some of us UAW

ppl can call and commend Mr. Ford for the good job he did in hiring Mr. Mulally..

minus the huge compensation pak..lol. Such was the price i guess for luring a

pro from a successful co to a problematic co (bk then i mean) etc.

  7. I know alot of us go down there occasionally and spend our hard earned money, please join me in boycotting that state and town. With one NO vote and the other senator not even bothering to vote I have spent my last dime down there, if only I could figure out a way not to spend any money in Ky because of our 2 asshole senators I would. We were so close to voting Mitch out this year I just wonder if all our members and their familys had hit the polls if we could have put him out of business, we will never know but hopefully the silver lining behind all this will be a strong showing at the polls in future years. Good Luck all

Great idea! This is complete anit americanism from the southern senators standpt...

they even have big 3 auotmaker plants in there states! This is soooo bad. Complete

boycott by every UAW member at minimum. Im from VA and i will NEVER enter

these states again im so disgusted..............write letters brother nd sisters!

  8. What this Democratic Congress has Accomplished

Republicans 2004: We need more troops in Iraq.

Democrats (Harry Reid): The war is lost.

Democrats (Barrack Obama): The Surge will not work. And Iran is no threat. It's just a small country.

Republicans 2004: We need to drill for oil.

Democrats: No. It'll force the caribou to move over 10 feet from their mating grounds.

Republicans 2004: We need more oversight over these bad mortgages of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Democrats: No way. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are fine, and if you disagree, you are a racist.

However, there is a problem out there bigger than terrorists, oil, and mortgage issues. Some baseball players are taking HGH. It's a national emergency...

Of course, we can all celebrate the one accomplishment of this Democratic Congress. Thanks to them, there are very few steroids in baseball today.

    We can all sleep easier!

    [/quote

Whats wrong w/ steroids/HGH/Insulin for professional athletes? lol Certainly

makes for better games and these are the elite players and grown adults right???

  9. that's totally untrue, your either not looking hard enough, or only looking in a certain area....

oh yeah next two weeks, i got two interviews in ALABAMA, guess who they are...

if you are willing to work, and show up, they dont care.....

Alabama?? Tell senator Shelby dwn there to get F**KED! Better stay near

the city areas cause the rest is trailor park after trailor park...better learn

southern slang cause the uneducated (70% of state) cant speak proper

english....anyways, good luck and dont tell them ur pro-UAW cause they

will not call ya bk, i promise ya that.

  10. You may be right. Now may be the time to rise against the government. Wealthy politicians dont like us because we are middle class. They hate the middle class. Any one making $14 an hour is low class in their eyes because at $14 an hour its nearly impossible to own anything of value. At $14 an hour its hard to make the trailer payment. Hell you have to wreck the truck to get the insurance money to make the truck payment. Dont even think about sending your kids to college.

Of all the people who hate us, the non union worker (non- auto worker) who is under paid are shooting theirselves in the foot. If you dont organize for collective bargaining you will be under paid. Your company will think you are happy making pennies while they are making millions from your labor. Execs negotiate their pay. Why shouldnt we?

I believe the whole mess we are in lies on the shoulders of the government. For the last eight years economists have said "are we heading towards a recession" while the ass holes in charge (bush administration) stare into the camera with a blank face. A stagnant economy hurts every one even the wealthy, but the wealthy will always pull through it and remain wealthy. The middle class however will become virtually extinct and the lower class not only down on the ground, but they get trampled to death like a store employee opening the doors on black friday. The point is, maybe it is time to revolt.

A true revolt has been long overdue...as we wouldnt be in this current piss poor state of things if

the greed, evil and general lack of concern hadnt grown so large...........other big societies thruout

history went thru same upheval eventually................

  11. I am so pissed off at my neighbors buying brand new foreign cars. it really pisses me off. i want to ask if your father/grandfather fought in ww1 or ww2 and if so are they rolling in there grave because you are driving a jap car???? i want to put a sign in my yard by there kitchen window that says ....

BUY AMERICAN! I hate them i don't even want to wave or say hi anymore because of this. Don't they understand!!!!

If ur a midwesterner u may be surprised at this fairly new phenomena

but any of us from east coast plants knows its more UNCOMMON to see

households w/all amer vehicles than the other way around...i must say

though, @ least w/ pickup trucks its usually always a Ford or chevy or

dodge but w/ cars...................hardly amer generally! Ive enjoyed seein

mostly amer cars in driveways since movin to MI 2yrs ago....but some

of my neighbors to prefer jap cars in neighborhood. I live in Farmington

    Hills btw.

  12. Auto workers make a fair wage. I say this because educated people in the South or out West are making much more than an autoworker. I will not accept a pay cut or benefit cut, I would rather live like the rest of the country and let the big 3 go bankrupt. This would be hard on most union workers but they have tuition assistance and they could have gone to college. I would probably go for my master's degree if Ford closed its doors. But the only way I can see the big 3 surviving is with all of its workers including white collar taking cuts or our government providing national health care. Now the question is would you bust your butt on the assembly line for $14 an hour with no pension and little health care benefits? Its about time for workers to revolt against the government and demand fair trade agreements! It can be done but it is not going to be done by accepting give backs.

90% of us on here (current Ford employees) would NOT hump our butts on line for

$14. per/hr but new hires (i.e. former walmarters, students, young ppl, the

disenfranchised etc) certainly would!..for a lil while anyway, till they found out

how hard the work is! Pay would probably go dwn to more less than !18-22 per/hr

for assembly type work @ full pay. I too would go for my masters but this is the

exception not the rule here. NO PAY CUTS for BIG 3 Gettlefinger!!!!

  13. That's right, cap. Here's another take: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../811250312/1148

Great work by all the engineers and good folks at CAP, KCAP, DTP, OAC, and let's be honest---even Hermosillo.

We're #1 in safety, on par w/ the Asians in quality, doing better in MPG's.

Now--- we gotta get the economy turned around, get folks into good jobs so we'll have buyers!

    THIS IS AWESOME NEWS~! PROMOTE,PROMOTE,PROMOTE!

  14. HEY TRUCK LOVER , I'M WITH YOU A MARCH WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO GET LAWMAKERS ATTENTION , I WISH GETTELFINGER WOULD GROW A PAIR OF BALLS AND START GETTING ALL THE UNIONS BEHINED US AND ON THE WAY WE SHOULD STOP IN ALABAMA AND TAKE A SHIT ON MR. SHELBYS FRONT LAWN.

Ur so right, nobody marches or mass pickets anymore like the 60's for example,

they figure we are just bunch of drones that go along w/whatever or simply dont

    care i figure...so sad!

  15. Heres my take........get everyone back to work, get the bailout money (JSP given up), come May or June....OH, wait a minute we don't need all of ya'll! Low people are bumped out, no JSP to fall back on yer finished, done, no more! Ford makes out! They get the money and JSP! We're screwed!

Thats a scarey scenario Country, and could very well come to pass..i certainly

hope internatl inst stupid enuff to completely do away w/JSP or the companies

will certainly exploit this....and our NAP asses will be on our way bk to VA/NC

(lol) I bought a home here i really like and aint about to lose shit on it...im

all the invested in MI for long term..........................

  16. You are right on truck lover. they say we make too much money, what do they want us to make, wal-mart wages? now they are going to bail out citigroup, no questions asked, they never talk about all the tax breaks given to all the OTHER car companies. they just don't like unions and our living wage....

Yes, i believe they do want us to make walmart wages, not just the automakers but

the current administration and other naysayers etc I guess they dont understand

that constant turnover and low wages would equal low quality IMO. I understand

the seriousness of our current situatuion fully and we are all vested in the future

success but CEO's dont need 40mil per/yr w/bonuses..do they?? It was a setup

from the start when our guys went b4 committee..it was to get public outcry

against us i believe and just make fun of us in general cause we voted in a

democrat..these fuckers need to do there jobs and stop playin games or we

all need to march on Wash DC and get em ALL out.

  17. Those hippocrit senators/congressman kissing the asses of their FOREIGN

corporate consituents...what is this country coming to?..i understand

that alot of these southern states have pathetic average wage standard

cause ive lived there but givin 100mil plus in tax subsidies to attract hyundai,

nissan or toyota should be agaist the law! I wont even travel EVER to some

of the places where these senators came out in droves to put us dwn!..

support ourselves and our local midwest made products.

  18. What's amazing to me is that LITTLE BUSH has refused to even speak to our industry in 8 years. The GOP is anti-union. Period. The southern states are showing their asses. Right to work states mean only one thing to me. Pissed off people that lost the civil war. If they had it their way we would still be a 2 class society. Upper class(land and business owners) and lower class(workers being shit on daily with no way to acquire wealth). If it wasn't for unionism their wages would be garbage. They have to give them a decent wage to keep unions out! I know I'm all over the place here but my eyes are being opened this week to what this country is becoming. I never would've guessed the hatred coming from all 50 states. I thought just the non auto workers in michigan felt this way about us. Show's what I know...

Forget the republicans, Bush family, southern right to work states and there worthless corporate welfare approving asses and hipocrit lifestyles! Dwn w/transplant automakers! GO BIG 3 and UAW! Another 100yrs!

  19. no arguments on any points above.

    there has definitely been mismanagement.

on the bright side, the B-compact is coming. Fusion hybrid coming too.

I don't think the Flex was necessarily a bad idea. But like the 500/Freestyle, hasn't been marketed properly. Anyone that has driven one will tell you you is a class leader.

As far as further concessions, I don't think it is needed at this time. Further cost savings are needed where there is true fat in the system (too many layers of management that get in the way of things happening)

Yea, heard bout Mazda engineered b-compact (hope Ford doesnt difest itself of them),

Fusion hybrid is overdue and F-150 hybrid is needed and so on.......

  20. Did anyone see mad money tonight? Cramer took up for the autoworkers. He said wall street guys making more in a day than an autoworker makes in a year are complaining about the uaw causing the big 3 to go broke. He refered to people making 70 million a year that are capable of moving paper from one desk to another but can they make a fender or put in a transmission. Good to hear somebody take up for us.

If this is Bob A. from NAP and former union rep... heard u carried ur arse

bk to VA from Dearborn...couldnt hang w/ goin bk to line work or was it ur

    ex wife? :reading:

  21. IF UR NOT AN EMPLOYEE why oh why do you feel free to add ur opinions/remarks

most of which is hearsay as you casually admitted to AN EMPLOYEE FORUM??.....

IF you live in midwest you had better hope US auto industry thrives or will drag

all dwn economically especially in those areas as we've started to already see...

Full disclosure: I am not an autoworker, or in an auto-related profession, so my info is limited to what I can read in the news.

Now, I am not in favor of CEO bonuses for poor performance anymore than I am for paying someone to sit in a room (with benefits).

You say the problem has been resolved. Here is what I see:

GM to cut up to 700 local jobs (Lansing State Journal)

    Here's another:

Fenton, Mo., plant rolls out its last minivan (Chicago Tribune)

I've got a LOT more if you want. Is a 2-year limit resolving the problem? So we want Joe Taxpayer paying someone (anyone?) to sit? I'm finding that just as hard to swallow as paying a CEO millions.

Should We Really Bail Out $73.20 Per Hour Labor?

    wages.bmp2008115815small.jpg

Whether you bailout the Big 3, and pay one man $25,000,000 or you pay 1,000 workers $25,000, the money is exactly the same to me, Joe Taxpayer.

The only difference is one is "spreading the wealth" (MY wealth) to a different number of people for not doing anything.

I'm not trying to beat up on the guys doing the work, but unfortunately it's reality that's weighing them down, not me.
