  1. anybody know ,if you can sign up for postings,if you are on medical?

My understanding is Yes. Your Basic unit will let you go ,BUT, The receiving unit does not have to accept you. That's what I got out of our meeting in KCAP. You might want to verify, but this came up in our meeting.

  2. Dear Local 249 Brothers and Sisters,

For the past few weeks Jim Foster has been busy misleading you on his intentions if winning his Presidential Election. He has been promising you he will do everything but be President. Lets review what he has said and lets tell you the truth.

LIE # 1) " I will do everything I can to see your grievences are settled in a timely manner "

TRUTH - The President has NO PART in the grievence procedure. Grievences are handled by your Distric Committeeperson, Bargaining Committee, and Bargaining Chairman.

    LIE # 2) " I will fight agaist the 2-tie wage system"

TRUTH - All manners of pay and benifits are handled by The National Negotiating Team. The 2011 Team is already selected and he is not on it. In fact, he won't be asked his opinion and won't even be allowed in the room while meetings are taking place. This is a great campain line, who don't want the 2- tier wage system gone.

LIE # 3) "I will fight to get back all concessions"

TRUTH - Please refer to TRUTH section in LIE # 2

Lie # 4) " I will surround myself with the most qualified people I can to improve The Union"

TRUTH - The membership will elect the people Mr. Foster will work with. This Union is not a Dictatorship.

These are his key talking points that have been in all his fliers.

Let's ask Mr. Foster some questions :

#1 How many Union Meetings have you been to in the last 3 years

#2 How many elected positions have you held ?

    # 3 How many elections have you lost ?

    #4 Why did you use a NON-UNION flier ?

#5 Where was you when The Union was fighting to keep our plant open ?

#6 Why haven't you had time to see people on the line, but in the last 2 week had time to post 216 comments on Facebook ?

The truth is Mr. Foster has only stared showing up to Union meetings 4 months ago. He has held one term as Trustee for 3 years and had nothing accomplished for that. He has ran for President several times as " Duckie" but kept losing, so he lost the nickmane "Duckie" but it's the same old line you have voted NO to every time he has tried to mislead you in the past. He used a fake Union Bug on his last flier and has no defence for it. He chose to avoid the issue of President Jeff Wright keeping the plant open, and I wonder if he would be running if President Jeff Wright hadn't fought so hard and sucessifully to save our plant. He has found it easier to lie to you on Facebook than have you ask him real question in person, several people have told me he just walks away when the questions get tough.

KCAP Loacl 249 members deserve better than this. I'm offended that Mr. Foster thinks we are dumb enough to fall for this false campain tatics. He's not quailfied to be President and don't even know what the job consists of.

    RE-ELECT

    JEFF WRIGHT

    FOR PRESIDENT

    Spell check! It really works!

  3. I like how you generalize and put all people who have transferred into KCAP as whiners. Since I've been at KCAP almost 4 years now, I've used my seniority to move into a much better position. The higher seniority people who have transferred in have done so. Given that, there have been a lot of KCAP people who have "whined" about getting bumped to a different shift because of the people who have transferred in. I can understand the sentiment but apparently when the shoe is on the other foot, you and others can't.

Those of us who have gone through a plant closing appreciate the opportunity to keep working for Ford Motor Co. That's why we moved. I would have moved even with no special transfer incentive. If KCAP should happen to close in the future, I'm sure you and many other people who hail from KCAP would move to continue your employment.

Most don't need to read your comments as you state. Again, you may have run across a few who may have made comments and then you lump us all together. That's too bad.

Amen, brother!! I say to those with less time " Get your weight up", Hell, I did.

  4. Not sure about actual numbers, but at KCAP they posted another transfer to CAP. Chicago Stamping wasn't included this time. I think the number they are looking for is 931.

  5. But you enjoyed the benefit of working for Ford for some time, didn't you? Did you ever work SO hard, but be compensated so well? Where else could you have had what Ford and the CAW offered there?

Trust me, I came from a closed plant, and I was VERY upset when our closing was announced. But, I remember what I did before I worked for Ford. My family and I are much better, even today, because of it. I had to pack my family and move across the country to keep my job, only to be laid off again, UGH! But I'd rather be associated with Ford over ANY other auto manufacturer in the world, despite all else.

I just don't understand your sudden turn-coat attitude against the company you spent most of your days with.

And why do you think a former Ford employee, with parents actively or retired from Ford, would want to sell TOYotas, Hon-duhs, Kill-yas, Government Motors or Crap-slers.

Were you ever proud to help build the finest automobiles in the world?

Yes, it hurts to lose a job and see a "family" broken up, but I hope you find another career that provides for you and your family as well. Those jobs ARE RARE!

  6. According to the 07 ratification, welder repair is supposed to be red-lined at BSP with no re-population, no training of any kind, and no new work of any kind.

We just recently ILO'd or put back into production: 9 electricians, 7 machine repair, amongst the many in ER and MR already on TLO, and now I hear that the plant manager sent welder repair to "robot training" in Dearborn and training at the plant itself. I know alot of those guys, in MR and ER, and no one can believe this is happening.

I know of a welder repairman in metal assembly taking care of a line that has absolutely no welding equipment in it. How can he also go into a panel that I was told only ER can go into??? What happened to the lines of demarcation, or are there none?

I thought supervisors were to supervise, not do actual work....I see supervisors manipulating equipment...I am all for keeping the lines running, but when a line breaks down, I thought your are to call in a qualified tradesmen? Seems like everybody can do what the F*** they want, without regards to Health, Safety, or our Contract?

How can the union allow the displacement of uaw, card-carrying journeymen, over workers that have simply 8 years "experience"..with no journeymens card? I can see someone getting hurt. It just scares me to think that the equipment I have to work on is not being maintained by the people that are truly qualified to work on it. Hell, I cant even get gloves!

Look...I dont want to see anyone lose their job, but it is ridiculous what this place is doing. When ER and MR got put back into production, no one in production was to get ILO'd... one week later...now the plant is going one for one, with production out the door on ILO....one was a co-worker and good friend with 2 small kids...yeah, Merry F'n Christmas! What am I paying dues for? I still believe in the union, but do they believe in us...seems like we are on our own here.

Before anybody says anything... our local reps have been notified of these incidences, and as of yet, nothing has been done to correct this bullshit which has been going on for awhile.

Is this not a total violation of our contract? Health and Safety?? Is this commonplace amongst other plants? Or is it just here at BSP?

Thank you for letting me vent!!

Go ahead and vent, some of the things that OUR UNION lets the COMPANY get away with makes you wonder who's side they're really on!!

  7. No comment, :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: funny guy. lol lol lol

Remember the days before the turnstyles? I believe the cameras were there before that. Just my opinion. All I can say is ........................SMILE,,,,,, YOU'RE ON CANDID CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Just heard from a temp, that today is their last day! Report to LR on Fri. "C crew's last day is Sunday. Any info? We've been doin 10.7 and scheduled 2 Sundays b4 Christmas. Thoughts??

  9. why do retirees recieve christmas bonus and we active workers dont?

You have got to be kidding?? I stand by retirees 100%!! I would like to be one someday!! Without them there is no US. And without US there is no THEM!!! Let's stick together!!! Hell, they made close to a billion dollars in the third quarter! What did we get? I'll say it again, WHAT DID WE GET?? Anyone???

  10. I see that the big dogs are out trying to show there teeth

The Plant Manager was in trim at 6:15am telling people to put there safety glasses on and looking at the job that cost a good man lost part of his finger

do to a defective tool and managements insistance to catch it on the fly do not stop the line

It got real good when the line started and a raccoon ran out in front of them

Sheeze that raccoon has been around for a couple of years right along with the mice that run by us everyday the roaches in the break room

Two sinks in the tunnel locker room that have been plugged up for about a month

Restrooms are nasty and smell like outhouses No Soap No paper towels

Owe that was one of our consessesios outsorce clean up

Health and Safety is a Joke at KCAP

Safety is only inforced when management wants to burn someone

The Plant Manager was stepping up on a raised line that is about 18 inches high Safety Rules say 6 inches for a raised line hmmm if I catch you smoking with headphones on or talking on a cell phone or going into a robot cell thats not locked out or no safety glasses I can burn you while you management allowes and committes unsafe acts daily

Safety is second to production Its only a unsafe act if production is not stopped

A real OSHA inspection would shut down KCAP

    Amen, bro!!
  11. When Int. steps in it usually isn't good for the little guy, just my experience.

I doubt THE COMPANY really cares about an issue! It's an in house situation and management should deal with it! Once again we pass the buck!!

  12. I would consider those on C Crew fortunate.

There are over 1,000 members out on ILO right now some are ready to end SUB and start TAP.

Its a shame that there is anyone who would have the gall to complain about a work schdule when so many are out of work.

Your location is blessed with 2 great products and people are complaining??????

I hope that no one from Norfolk, Edison, Maumee, Monroe, Nashville, Tulsa, Wixom, TCAP read this!!!!!

    What a shame>>>>>>>>

I hope that you dont complain too loud.........Other locations are hiding in the weeds to steal your products.

    Good luck
