Sometimes I wonder if Ford is trying to lose customers. This is my story (I wrote it to a local news station with the hopes of seeing a resolution to my case) Remember, I did not write this specifically to Ford management, so the wording may be off a bit. So, will anything get resolved this time?

You think thats great...just look at the 3.0 TD compared to the 4.7 V8 in the GC (all info taken from Trailer Boats magazine) This is the 3.0: Aren't those numbers great? Here is the 4.7: The fuel economy difference is amazing. If I were in the market for a SUV, this would be my only choice.

I am sure that Jeep could EASILY transplant the 3.0 turbo diesel from the Grand Cherokee (the USA Grand Cherokee) into the Wrangler. It pumps out 215 horsepower and 376 pound feet of torque. And in the GC, it makes a HUGE difference in fuel economy.

Yes, the SD has a dime store interior. I sat in a $56,000 SD at our auto show. The dash was nothing but a cold sea of hard plastic. And the door panels had the structural rigidity of a wet piece of spaghetti. You could push in the center of them and get a inch or two of deflection. Yeah, thats quality. Again, Ford has abandoned a 90% market share monopoly with the E-series Ambulance chassis. I don't think that our version of the Focus can do this...: Lifting the rear tire, in the rain. Its a better car. And I believe that America should get the best American cars...not the worst.

Uh...the F-150 has been down double digit percentages in sales compared to last year. Not to mention... The F-150 is stale compared to the GM twins. The Mustang has a dime-store interior. The Edge is the answer to the question nobody asked and it is hideous (why do we need the Escape and Edge?) The Taurus is a great start, but it needs something to make it stand out from the crowd. The new Superduty is ugly and has a dime-store interior. Ditto for the E-series (plus, Ford had abandoned a 90% market share monopoly with the E-series Ambulance chassis).

They had a car faster than that 18 years ago...with less power and a manual tranny. If Ford wants the Fusion to be a legit competitor, they had better give it a larger engine option. Hell, the '06 Malibu could be had with a 4-cylinder, 3.5 V6, or a 3.9 V6. And with the 3.5 V6 you were still getting 30-35 MPG on the highway. That being said, for the price, you get A LOT of stuff with that sport package.

That may be...but I think that for $56,000, vehicle (it does not matter what kind) should have interior materials that are better than that of a 1991 Ford Escort.

Yeah...but NONE of those models are sold on this continent. Why is it that Ford decides to do a terrible job of restyling the Focus while GM imports the fantastic Opel Astra and puts a Saturn sticker on it? Why can't Ford get the Mondeo over here or the immensely good Euro Focus. Why can't we have a Focus with a turbocharged inline-5 that performs great and is a quality car? Or instead of importing the whole car...take bits and pieces like interior materials, etc. Your right, Ford can build a quality car...but they are not sold here.

Agreed (scary huh?) The new SDs remind me of the son of the news reporter on Family Guy. The kid had an upside down face. And someone mentioned the interior. The interior is just like the Mustang. Extremely cheap and a sea of cold hard plastic. I sat in a SD at the auto show and could not believe how cheap the interior of a $56,000 truck is. I think that the "higher ups" at Ford walk on all fours and eat bananas.

And then, after you kill the Panthers, why not go for the E-series van. Another huge fleet model that rakes in gobs of money.
