I have an 07 EL and on windy days it sounds like I have the drivers window cracked. I noticed this in another EL I drove and a co-worker has the same problem with hers. Has anyone else noticed this? Have you talked to your dealer about the problem?

Thanks for your opinion. I think you all have pushed me off the fence. I will get the 5.4 just to be sure I have enough power. I would be sick if I purchased the 4.6 and was not satisfied.

Thanks for the replies. I thought that I should go with the 5.4 but with the literature about the 4.6 and the salesman, it sounded like I was looking at something that was not needed.

I am looking to get an F150 Crewcab pickup and they have a 4.6L and 5.4L engine. I have a boat that weighs about 4000 lbs. The literature says that the 4.6L will pull up to 6900 lbs. Is there any reason to get the 5.4L over the 4.6L?
Thanks.

When I had it in for another issue I asked the service tech about it and he was not sure. I was able to reproduce the problem for them but they had no idea. I guess I should take it back and see what they can do.
Thanks for the responses.

If I have not noticed a problem with the transmission should I still take it in for the TSB?

I have an 07 EL and I have an issue with the radio and wanted to know if anyone else has seen the same problem. The following steps explain the issue.
- I am listening to Sirius radio and the kids have a DVD playing listening on the head phones
- Turn off engine and open door so radio goes off
- Start engine and the radio shows that it is on Sirius, but there is no volume
- I can change channels and volume but hear nothing
- I then must select AM, FM or CD to get volume
- I then can switch to Sirius and it works
Expedition EL rear end noise
in Expedition Forum
Posted
I have a 07 Expedition EL with about 10,000 miles and it has started making a noise in the rear end. I can not hear the noise until it is warm and get louder the longer it is driven after hearing it. It is more obvious at a speed less than 5 miles an hour but I can hear it at higher speeds at times. If you walk beside the vehicle while it is in motion, it seems to be from the center, between the rear wheels. I had it at the dealer last week and they could hear the noise but have not found the cause.
They are guessing that it may be a lubrication issue with the split drive shaft and plan on taking it apart next week.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?
Any suggestions on what this may be.
