  1. You can always go in front of the bankruptcy judge and see if he takes everything away all retires heath-care half your pensions/jobs/ you won't have to worry about sub pay you won't be getting any!!!!!!!!! Remember what happened to LTV they lost everything just cause they played hardball. Then you have US STEEL they gave up some perks they are still around. The workers at US STEEL prospered over the last 10 years. You guys all forget that company is losing 2 BILLION DOLLARS A MONTH! THE CASH THEY BORROWED WILL EVENTUALLY RUN OUT PROBABLY BY THE END OF THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know who this guy is, but he's right. This company is pretty much finished, do the math. I encourage everybody to get "plan B" in order. I'll take the 39 and 39 at 1/2 and thank my lucky stars. Good Luck to us all in our new endeavors, it's been a good ride, no regrets

  2. I own a 2003 Explorer and I have 60,000 miles and NOT ONE warranty concern. The 4 wheel drive/low has saved me from being stranded on the freeway one time after I spun off the road because of Black Ice.At my family Christmas Party I am hearing about my young professional neice`s new car a Toyota Prius.UAW workers must have a sign on their backs that say 'KICK ME'.Anyways after trying to ignore them I say "Okay, you own a Prius. How many miles on it?What am I suppose to do,genuflect?"IT is a car.I have seen lots of cars.Any car you have to drive for more than 800 miles before you can brag about it.That and drive it through 4 seasons of weather. They are all great right out the gate.LAP did me right. Thanks!

02 that had 72, 000 miles. Out went the tranny ($3000). Wonderful vehicle though

  3. there a lot of reasons to look at this as good news.

the final details will be worked out by a new administration

we are already close to the jap plants on wages. a new round of buyouts, and new hires at lower wages would average the cost in at an acceptable level with no major cuts.

ford is not in the picture yet and has already said they will not ask bond holders for concessions, if they don't do that, then they can't ask for federal money

gm still has a lot of archaic work rules, we got rid of most of those in the last few years.

we get to vote on it, just say no.

pattern bargaining does not apply when one company is healthier than the others, chrysler took pay cuts in the 80's bail out and no one else did.

there will be pattern bargaining. Ford already said they expect to get what GM and Chrysler get

  4. Level, if this program is being used by less than 10% of the employees and/or their children, then how could it cost $8 million a year? You stated that this is money that is not initially set aside therefore it is coming directly out of Ford's pocket. Therefore, I would assume that the only moeny spent is when employees are using the program. $8 million a year would seem to equate to more than 10% of employees, particularly when the yearly cap for each employee is around $4500. Just wondering.

The subcouncil letter says that 5% use it and it cost 15 million.

  5. OK, Mr. Know-it All, show me one of the thousands of news articles written on this issue that references the attendance policy. If you can't, STFU and quit posting your bullshit here. Put up, or shut up.

You need to get the big picture and realize that most everyone here thinks and knows you don't know shit.

I thought I was the only one who thought this guy was an idiot. Everything he says begins with "I told you so". What a moron.

  6. Vote has failed, once bankruptcy is filed the US Government/Treasury Dept will require UAW to take paycuts, then............we either accept and go to work or.......walk and get locked out. Fact is we had enough GOP votes just didnt get all the Dems to the table. Last hope is George W using the TARP funding, who would have thought all our futures will depend on this cowboy. Goodluck all

Giddy Up! Bush will save the day. I can't believe I just said that

  7. Jobs bank suspended.... What does this mean? do we get unemployment and sub pay or are we out on the street and no money or insurance. when do you think we will get answers and when could things take effect? and if we are let go for good would we get called if job openings come up?

A letter from our union, received yesterday, says that sub pay is independent from the "job bank".

  8. Now that only 28 of us are coming down from Michigan Truck, along with a shitload of launch related salaried folk, can someone recommend any reasonable areas to search for housing? By reasonable I mean where an hourly person can live with their means and still have an acre or two for dogs and kids to have room to play.

If you are wanting land, stay away from Jefferson County. Mt. Washington would probably be best. Oldham County has the best schools. You shouldn't have a problem finding what you need. Most of us live in Jefferson County. Hope this helps. Any other questions, would be glad to try and help.

  9. I think as we look at Romans 13 we see we are commanded to submit to authority. Most Christians believe this to mean that we are to obey our leaders in everything unless they tell us to sin or forbid us to do something we are required to do. But this is not so, for when we look at Acts 16, we see something very out of place with this thinking. We see magistrates commanding Paul and Silas to leave quietly because the leaders found out they had had them beaten as Roman citizens. Now, the command to leave, was that commanding them to sin? No. Forbidding them to do something required? Not on the surface. So we must rethink what Romans 13 means...when told to submit to authority, does it mean to obey the physical men who hold office OR something bigger, the law of the land? Well, the text in Acts 13 leads us to believe that indeed when submitting we are submitting to the law of the land, NOT necessarily those in office. When those in public office follow the law of the land, they are to be obeyed. When they fall from that ideal, we are to hold them to such law of the land.

What is our "law of the land" but the US Constitution of course? In light of this, which candidate reflects most consistently abiding by that constitution and thus following the command from God to submit to the authority God has put over us? The only honest answer, my friend, is ________ ?

Compare the candidates with the Constitution and you will have your answer.

Note: This quote may or may not be the opinion of the sender.

    Now you decide.

Seems like all the christian leaders are anti-democratic and it usually comes down to abortion rights. As a christian myself, I really can't answer your question. What I mean is I have no clue. I know scripture says to obey government but look at the politicians these days. Can I put my trust in them? No. The world has been overcome with evil and greed just as God said it would. Obama is my vote, but with alot of uncertainty. God Bless .
  10. if they open the contract, what's everyones thoughts, Will they open the buyout window back up. There are some in jsp that havent taken the buyout because they can ride it out but if you cant sit home and draw 85% mabye they will leave? How about going to a national senority list?

Nothing is going to happen. They're either going to sell some vehicles in the next 18 mths or go bankrupt. That simple, what you see is what you get.

  11. union told us last night the plant is 180 people still to many as of right now 59 going to vandyke and 34 taking the buyout that leaves 87 more to go buyouts go intill oct 31 and then they will know how many more will go in jsp the thing is those that went to vandyke knew how to run the job now there is knowone to take over and they dont care its all about the number so it does not look like people will be coming out of jsp anytime soon

    what did he say?

  12. When did the sign up period Start/End? We at KCAP are still waiting our turn. Any idea when we might get a shot at signing up?

Sign up began around beginning of August and ended Sept. 26. I don't believe KCAP is being offered buyouts. Don't ask me why, I have no clue.
