  1. I guess we all can figure out why joel had to election moved up now!!!! i would have never have voted for him knowing i was going to dtp on april25th. And ill bet 72 of my fellow old 898 members are feeling the same way. A REAL POLITICIAN AT WORK . screw over his people, get no new real work.and to make sure he takes care of the joelites only AGAIN!!!!!!!!

so wtf went on? did they figure a way to shut us transfers out from going back to raws some how? so they can just terminate home plant rights now if they feel that it best suits them? if that is the case wtf did two generations of ford workers in my family sacrifice stuff for? it sure wasn't so these elected officials not to do right by there entire membership and not for a select few. WHEN IS THE NEXT UNION METTING AT RAWSONVILLE? I THINK THAT ALL TRANSFER MEMBERS PLUS THEIR RETIRED FAMILY AND FRIENDS SHOULD GIVE THEM SOME HELL. i"m on dtp transfer from saline list. why is the posting in west warehouse down? heard rumor that 60 from aai going to dtp. is that on top of 77 minus those on hold or did something change.

  2. 77 more people being forced to dtp starting 4/25/11. senority going back to dec of 99. do they really need these people? gotta do what i gotta do but damn what am i to expect when i get there. is it really time to start going back to school on the company bill and look for something else. or are all the bitch moaning and groaning i here about that place just way over stated?

  3. We are hearing the same here at Saline, it was announced at our Local Union meeting Saturday, from the rumble on the floor it sounds like Joel Goddard is in trouble so agreements ( none in writing so far) have been made to get him re-elected, it was said that anyone on loan here can run and vote in their Local elections at their home plant. Unfortunately it's too late for anyone to sign up to run at Rawsonville, seems that they moved their election which was regularly scheduled for this May to next Wednesday March 9th, hmmm! another plus for old Joel perhaps!. Our Local commitee ( Tom and his boys) are already going around the plant campaigning to us to go vote for Joel. Sounds like Tom will be bringing him through our plant soon. I have never heard of anyone being able to vote or run in any local union's election unless they were dues paying members in good standing at that local!

has anybody got the reasoning that the union at saline has for getting this "light blue cannot vote" policy thru. i know that the real reason is they are afraid that they were probably going to be voted out. but i would like to know what was said to international to have this change made. i remember that my vote was good enough for those guys a year and a half ago. i just don't get it i work at saline and pay dues to saline local but have to vote at raws local. how can i vote on matters, at this point do not concern me? i know that they indirectly affect me but i work at saline shouldn't i have a voice what goes on at the plant that i have to go into every day. how can i feel like my union guys will have my best interests at hand...but i guess they are not my union guys at all. and what else does not having voting rights at saline concist of? is there any point in going to a local 892 meeting? does this mean that my union membership card is worthless? seems to me that maybe my dues hould go to 898.

  4. Have any of you ever seen how they touch up the skins at Saline on the lines when they put the doors together??

    I have....

They use a can of spray paint from home depot and these idiots just over spray the door. Don't believe me, just ask the idiots on the Taurus line how they do it. lol it's funny to watch.

2nd, it's not only the paint spray machine that screws up the skins, the molding department has a lot of scrap when they change over colors. Did you know that when they change over colors going from Black to tan, or grey, they have to run about 15 parts (that they scrap) in order to make sure the colors are not bleeding into the part from the last change over? lol that's also funny to watch!.

No these people really don't work a full day, this is why it's a country club!. There is more waiting around then actual work.

As for the company as a whole not making the vehicles, the less they can make a day the more the actual demand is for them. Ford is reporting that they already made 2 billion in profit for the months of DEC-FEB already, and this means for the first quarter they will report about a 4 billion in sales profit. The company just writes off the losses and they also write off the overtime as well. So really the company is not hurting here, if anything they are keeping the demand high on it's most sought after vehicle line, which is a good thing.

GM is also reporting profits again as of today, ask yourself why Ford stock is 1/3 lower then GM stock, and GM took bailout money that they haven't fully paid back yet? You would think Ford would have more market share but it doesn't and it never will for some reason or another. I think someone on Wall Street is manipulating Ford stock. Maybe Ford could be doing it. The question is why would they want to keep it low? so they don't have to pay dividends on their earning maybe? hmmm..

I wish someone could explain why Ford continues to have such a low market share compared to the failing companies.

i have seen the spray paint deal...but it is when there are small scratches on a solid plastic door panel. like the F150 door panel. molding is not really the issue either. yes they kick out some scrap that can be reground, but that area is not running lines out of parts. the problems that the focus line is having are in the foam area. it is equipment problems not hourly workers screwing off.

  5. As far as having a stronger committee....Tom has been doing nothing but bashing Pete since he was booted out of office (why did that happen again :headscratch: ). Then he got elected as bargainer and since has done nothing to help the committee, but :stirpot: .

As for Bargainers doing District work....maybe you should be looking at the District's not the Chairman or maybe with everything going on they wanted to split up the work load a little!!

As far as new work....this new work could have easily went into the assembly plants.....so the claim that IUAW gave the plant anything is BS. Again, one must ask why did Tom get thrown out as chairman :headscratch: Loyalty :headscratch: Hey Ypsi, give a call back to your plant and ask your Chairman what he thinks and who he thinks is the best candidate....Ed is neutral and he has been in Sub with both candidates!!!

I never really talked to ed at all. never had them kinda problems that I needed him. All I know is I didn't vote for taylor. I just want to know who will be the best for the job. It is a new plant for me and I don't owe anybody anything, nobody there got me my job. but I would like to keep my job and add more work at the plant if possible. Who can and will do that for us at saline. I just think that if this guy tom was doing that great of a job why the change to pete 3 years ago?

  6. First, What line/area do you work in and what shift?

This is simple, Yet extremely important! This election has two contract's for our elected official's to deal with. Our local contract and the national in '11. Tom Kanitz is thee candidate with more experience with negotiating contract's (an undisputable fact). He's held a position on the national negotiating team. He was also our Chairman for 9 years.

Our local was much stronger with Tom in office. Speaking of which, Why are our bargaining rep's doing district's work?????

The new work came in on Pete's watch yes. But, You need to ask him " how much of the current work in the plant was bid on by Saline vs. How much was given to us from International"

One thing to keep in mind, A couple supplier's went belly up last year with no where else for the work to go. International and Ford knew Saline would of been able to get the product in and out of the door quickly with little to no disruption to assy.

    Name's to remember,

    #20-Tom Kanitz for Chairman

    #24-Jason Schiffman for Bargaining

    #22 Brandon Keatts for Bargaining

    #26-Brian Brandvold for District

    #30-Jason Heath for District

    #29-Eric "ET" Triplett for District

    #32-Dennis Debreczeny for District

    #25-Travis A. Zietlow for District

    #1- Mark Caruso for President

#5- Jeff Grimm for Vice President

    #7-April Bau for Recording Secretary

    #14- Antwuan "BIG DOG" Riley

There are more, I will add later.

But thus far. If your going to go to vote on May 20th and want to know that your selecting people (or a team) that can commmunicate from the bottom to the top, And have the knowledge, dedication, loyalty and experience to get the job done. Remember the name's above, Write them down.

i work on days in zone one on the towncar door line. If tom was chairman for 9 years and he did such a great job why do we have pete right now? this is the most important position we need someone who will do us right. how long has pete been chairman?

  7. Just got a phone call related to unemployment. It said letters have been mailed out also. I'm in Michigan.

    JSP is now on ILO.

Phone message said: Do not call unemployment office to file a claim or go to Michigan Works office. Call MARVIN begining week of 3-30-09 based on MARVIN reporting schedule.

Sounds like it will be handled as in the past.

Skilled trades bumping back to production will be notified.

To hear the message dial: 877-565-8456

my question now is why the two phone calls. I got one last week staying that we had to call or go online and file for unemployment and then today we don't. I think that it is great that we have this bs done for us.

  8. first you suck on my thick head.

i'm not going to bow down to the ypsi people for doing their job any more then i'm going to bow to sandusky people for the carbon can or any other plant for the jobs we have in here, i thank the uaw. and they should thank the uaw instead of acting like they are the plant savior.

if not for the uaw and do you honestly think the company would've even done a market test on those lines or just outsourced it like they are going to do anyway? the union is the only reason that work is in rawsonville not the people on the line who have the attitude that they are.

    you must have 30 +
