I was wondering how other plants deal with the painful installation of doorboots,wirelooms,and weatherstrips?Are these jobs rotated where you are?What kind of tools?Anyone else sick of the bad design that makes using motrin or prescription drugs a must in order to do the job?Or the fact that the nature of the job takes away the enjoyment of outside activities?I know,I know, take a buyout,bitch to union(done and not any satisfaction)Again any idea what happens at your plant?

  2. Dude you need help. It's sad you had to move from Nap to Dtp but let it go. Your union brother and sisters on C crew didn't do anything but work for ford just like you.   3. the current plant can deny you, if they feel they cant let people go, for whatever reason, period.

    sure challenge away, but it wont do any good.

     

     

    we have seniority for jobs, in current plant, and for retirement, etc...

     

    Let's not go there... anyway friend, (why) your plant can deny a transfer based on needs (manpower)!! We have a few leaving with 94 & 2000 sen. Plus.. I'm sure the plant that is recieving people can deny for reasons that may apply such as, medical abuser, AWOLS,. Hope this helped and good luck !

  4. jerzy don't like that kind of launage but the warn act is a federal law that states that when a plant is going to be haveing a noumber of large lawoff they have to fill a docoument with that state and their is a process that the co. has to follow like notifeying the union and the people of for seen event you can go to your state web site and get the info about it their is a noumber of days before the mass layoff can take place it is all in the warn act info so just check it out now be nice

  5. JERZEY The only gravy job at DSP is team leader. You probably know how to get one of those jobs. Breaking welds is tough especially when you have to go back to the line.

    Why does everyone keep saying " go back on the line" ? Thats what we do ! the people before us, the people after us, we work production right? I can only imagine how many people would love to make $30 hr. Especially in today's economy. I'm grateful to be working and I'm sure many others are as well. I will agree with you that all the jobs are tough, however, not nearly as tough as they once were. Keep your head up and stay positive.

  6. exactly what was posted, It's a shit job with a big title. Last year they forced 10 low seniority to take position. welcome to DSP.

     

    What ten ? Are we talking about the same job? Same plant ? The inspector gets off line 90 minutes prior to end of shift to break a few welds, it takes under a half hour to do than they are finished.

  7. I find that hard to believe that new transfers got promotional bid jobs, i find it harder to believe it happened at DSP and not at DTP/body(same bargaining unit).

     

    DSP is the golden child for the unit rep's all came from DSP except 1 bargaining rep, and the unit contract clearly states no new transfers can receive a promotional bid for 90 days after entering the facility. The only way this could have happened is if

    1. they have been in the plant more than 90 days

    2. it was a job that no one that was already in DSP wanted.

     

    Inspector jobs make this story even harder to believe that 2003 seniority employee's are getting these jobs.

     

     

    Sorry just sounds like bullshit to me , but who knows maybe some of the old timers there don't mind busting there ass's Lol

     

    Although I hate to say it , you were right ! Rep told me today that these jobs were available work at DSP, and the fact that not enough people bid on these jobs the transfers were givien the AVAILABLE JOBS . The brothers and sisters brought in are Grateful to be off ILO and make 30 cents an hour more than the production folks here. The positions as stated earlier are great jobs that even a caveman can do. We had two more from woodhaven come in today so good luck to them as well. It looks like things are heading in the right direction for all of us, and hopefully we can get everybody back to work soon. Good luck to all.

  9. Finally, good luck to the new transfers from auto alliance to DSP. Bringing in these 10-15 individuals with 2003 seniority and above is a plus for the UAW and DSP. 8 of these new arrivals already hold inspector classifications (gravy) which were open bids this week. With the addition of the focus door lines this winter hopefully more brothers and sisters will have the same opportunity to return to work and be transferred to one of the best stamping plants in the country.

  15. My guess is it's Managment. Not a U.A.W. worker. FYI my paycheck stub says I make $28.48 an hour.

     

    $28.48 an hour, plus vac pay, plus per time, plus holiday pay, plus health benefits, plus 3 paid breaks daily, plus reading newspaper while working, plus ect...... . Wake the fuck up and be grateful!

  16. If they want to increase truck sales, give everyone a voucher let them go out and buy a FORD product.

     

    Better yet, lets start a vehicle pool for each plant. Everyone joins a pool for $500 and each month a new person on the list gets a new vehicle of their choice for the amount they put in.. This will sell vehicles without vouchers and the company will make money while people get a new car or truck.

     

    $500 car (20-25k) Teir 1

    $1000 Truck (20-35k) Tier 2

     

    Like a raffle u say? yes.. and apoint a couple people to handle the specifics.

  18. I agree I should not have went that way with it. The reason I did though is because he seems to have nothing good to ever say about the UAW. I think we should all be trying to stand together in these trying times. Just my opinion. General sorry if I offended you in any way. I just don't understand why you are so angry with the UAW. There have been a lot of good things done for the body. You cannot have all good and no bad. The economy sucks right now. Also I do not believe we will lose as much that has been speculated. None of us know though so we are all wondering. Everything else we hear are just rumors.
  19. There is a rumor going around KTP and I wanted to see if anyone knows how this would work. We had a couple hundred jobs go up for bid before Christmas. The rumor is that the company over bid jobs by about 40 people. So 40 people bid but theres not a job for them. They are saying that if any of the 40 people that they cut already have bid jobs that they will lose there old bid and go to work available. Can they really do this.

     

    I am a inspector that hasn't been called for my new bid job but many with less time have already started. The 40 extra people are for Fork Lift jobs.

     

    Can they say that I got a fork job and to report to MH but in a day they cut 40 people out and then I go back to the line?

    This doesn't sound right to me.
