  1. Under 400 Mkt's last month....what a freaking disaster. The whole Lincoln brand is slowly withering away. The only thing keeping MKZ's going is that they are a decent AWD near-luxury car and women love them. Quiet, classy looking, and not a huge, high riding boat like the MKS is. The rebates of course are helping....my dealer right now is offering over $3,500 in rebates, plus 2,250 in additional rebates if you're a returning lessee. My dad loves his 2010, and will be getting another one in August when his lease is up. For the lease deals out there, you can't beat it.

  2. The Lincoln (and Volvo) dealership where my dad bought his MKZ just redid their dealership finally. All new lighting, signs, and they finally ripped up all the old blacktop and redid the whole lot. It was much needed and hopefully it will be a sign that they are sticking around. The next Ford/Lincoln place is 35 minutes away, although that one was totally brand new top to bottom back in 2006-2007.

  3. Love the MKZ too!

Thanks! I just don't get why people trash them. Granted the handling sucks, you really can't find a car like it for the money (we ended up getting over $8,000 off by the time it was all said and done). We've had it a year now and so far 10,000 trouble free miles! My dad says he's never had a car before that has gotten as many compliments as it has. Thanks again!

  4. Ford would be stupid to not keep the E going after all these years. I'm assuming they make a boat load off of each sale and fleets and companies continue to buy them. Invest in powertrain updates (eco, 5.0, 6.2) 6 speed tranny, and other small updates and it will sell for another 5-10 years. My parents bought one because my sister's in a wheelchair and since they abandoned the minivan market it was our only choice. Sorry, a Transit Connect with it's tin can construction and wimpy engine, is no match for wheel chair bound adults. It couldn't even get out of it's own way loaded up. I'll take the $100 fill-ups and 13 MPG and be able to stand up inside, load it up with suitcases, hook up a trailer and drive to Florida in the fall like we do.

  5. Well, today ended on a good note....I bought myself a little college graduation present in the form of a 2011 Escape Limited. Sangria Red, black interior, every option but nav. My mother is taking over my 06 Mariner, my dad has his 2010 MKZ, and we have our 2010 E-150 high-top conversion van with the wheelchair lift in it for my sister. We are finally getting rid of our 97 Jeep Cherokee that gave us a great 14 years of use, it is finding a new home with my grandfather to use to run to home depot and stuff when he does his little projects on the house. I'll post a picture of all the cars together this weekend on here....it will be nice having all Fords in the driveway for a while!

  6. I called today and sure enough you are right. I can order and get D-plan. Man I cannot thank you enough, but kind of ticked at my uncle for not telling me (or my parents) this years ago. There have been so many times that we bought Fords that didn't have exactly what we wanted but sucked it up because we thought it had to be from the lot. Oh well, you learn something every day haha. Thanks again!! I'm going away next week but when i get back i'm heading down and if all goes well, in a couple months i'll have my perfect Fusion. Keep you posted!!

  7. From what I was told yes, however I did not know you could order one AND get D-plan!? I thought it was only what was on dealer lots!? If that is true though then i'm placing an order when I get back from vacation next week!!! ....I'll have to call tomorrow and find out. Thanks for the info.... :happy feet:

  8. I would, if I didn't qualify for D plan. I'm not passing up that deal and a $500 recent grad rebate on top of that. I found ONE with that color combo but it doesn't have nav or even heated seats and I live in northeast PA.....not happening haha. I have my dealer on lookout for a 2012....i tried to get him to have the dealership order one for the "lot" but no such luck lol.

  9. There are still 2011s in my area (Northeast PA), although not that color combo. The Sport Appearance Pack. is extremely popular so I guarantee you they are out there somewhere. My dealer had 24+ SE's with Sync and Sport Appearance and they have one left in white. And that was less than two months ago when my friend bought hers. If you are dead serious about finding one, go to the dealer and tell them to swap with another dealer. My dad did this when he got his MKZ. He wanted the candy red with black interior and the aluminum trim versus the standard wood trim and all they had was the pearl white with the tan and wood. They found one in Delaware and swapped so that we could still use our D-Plan pin.

  10. Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to get to the lots after Job #1 starts. Will I be seeing the 12's on lots in the end of June, beginning of July??? Or am I totally off....I am planning on getting a Fusion Sport then on D-plan. It would be great to get an early 2012! Thanks....

  11. I think that there needs to be more standard content in the Z than has been. There is no reason why you should be able to get push button start on a $18K Fiesta and not on a MKZ, or having BLIS, xenon's, rain sensing wipers, and ambient lighting as part of a $5k package.....it should be standard on the MKZ. I never understood that with Ford. An Expedition should not have the same stuff as a Navigator, or a Fusion and an MKZ. At least with they tried to separate the MKS by offering more stuff than can be had standard on a Taurus. The only extra's you get standard on a Z are leather, heated and cooled seats, projector style lights, LED tails, a V6, and upgraded speakers. Doesn't really make sense

  12. I'm thinking about buying a new 2011 Fusion. But I'm leery about doing so because of the horror stories that I've been reading about on this forum regarding problems that folks are having with the 6F35 automatic transmission (in the Fusion).

I don't want to spend good money on a new car that has a transmission whose long-term reliability is in question. I've been burned before with other problems on Ford vehicles that I have owned in the past, specifically the 3.8L V-6 engine head gasket problem on the old Taurus/Sable. From personal experience... that was a bad one!

I did read that Ford has taken steps to fix the transmission "flare" as they call it, (I call it slippage) problem during the 2-3 and 3-4 upshifts. But I also read that some folks are still having a problem with hard shifting after Ford tweaked thier transmissions. So this leads me to question if the problem has been fixed.

So, what I'd like to know is: Has Ford fixed the slippage and hard shifting problems with the 6F35 auto. transmission, or should I wait until there is evidence that a good permanent solution is in place before I buy a new car?

Here is how I look at it. You obviously like the Fusion, enough so that you are considering buying it. You are aware of the 'flare' issue on the 6F35 tranny. My guess is that even though Ford has tried to fix the issue it still exists and Fords attempts up until this point have failed. Now I am buying a Fusion/MKZ in July (or so that is my plan) and want to avoid this issue as well. This is what i'm doing: (and depending on how much you want/can spend this may not work for you but) ....AVOID the 2.5 and 3.0 and get a Sport with the 3.5 and totally different tranny. My dad has a 2010 MKZ and has not had a single hiccup so far. With all the rebates they have on the Z's now, so long as you don't need all the "stuff", you can get a MKZ for just a couple more bucks than a SPORT, at least here where I live. For me, the Fusion SPORT appeals to me more because i'm 23, but if I get a better lease deal with the Z then i'll have no problem taking it (so long as it's Red Candy :) )

    Good luck with your decision!

  13. I guess I should have taken a pic with my cell like I did with my friends '11. I didn't realize that not everyone got their shipments yet! I'm about 30-45 minutes from the place though so it's not an easy drive to just go down and take pics! -Sorry
