  1. Does Anybody know what the hold is about on some F150's?

. Dealer cant find out what the issue is. Guess whoever he's talking with don't tell him.

My truck was build Feb 2 and is still sitting at Dearborn Assy. Thats 4 Weeeeeks.

Would surely appreciate it, if somebody would tell me.!

  2. Factory ordered my 2012 F150 FX4 EB on Dec. 15, veh. was built on Jan. 19

Was released on Jan. 23, no rail car assigned

Checked with Ford Canada, showed ETA delivery date of Feb. 12-19'

Checked with dealer on Feb 17, status now shows re-released ??? but no rail car yet

Don't know if it was sent back to factory

would be nice to know whats going on with my truck

    Get your truck yet?

    Opps...missed your post from yesterday

    Are you having it tracked?

  3. Dearborn Assembly closed back in 2004.

Dearborn Truck, however, works 3 shifts, 7 days a week. The only time they are not producing trucks is Saturday night and Sunday morning.

So, that means they're running today, even though it's President's day.

    Thanks for the speedy answer.

  4. My 2010 does drip water, but not as much as my other vehicles and previous f150' i had.

Ore- 2010 f150's i had would freeze me out in no time at all. Certainly cant say that about the 2010. I'd hate to take it to Florida!

2010 AC is wimpy at best and from what i been reading, I'm not the only 2010 f150 owner that isn't to happy with the AC performance. Had it in to get checked out, the first summer i had it. Ford said, nothing wrong with it.

Only takes half as much gas as f150's used to. I believe it's 1.6 or 1.8lb, compared to 3.5. lb.

I am thinking of trading it in next year and will check the AC performance when i test drive and it better be freezing me out or there will be no sale.

  5. I do not smoke dope. I don't drink either. Not even occasionally. I don't need it, and that is my choice.

Somebody having a joint or a beer at lunch in any given parking lot, may it be at Chrysler/ Gm /Ford, does not bother me as long as it does not effect me. And it hasn't.

If those activities are a problem, the employer should be the one dealing with it.

Not a Rat and definitely Not the news media.

What effects us way worse then those, having a beer/joint ( I'm not to judge if that's a good or bad thing ) , is those , that have the need to feel important at the expense of a brother and make the call to the news.

    Shame on you!

  8. :do what: From Lincoln's Web site:

It does say this program ends on December 31st of this year, but if you buy a new Lincoln now it runs four years.

Yes, in the USA..not in Canada....here we go again. We don't have traffic/information service either.....

  9. I've always viewed the OEM tires as placeholders on a new vehicle. I've never owned a car which had good, let alone class-leading, tires equipped from the factory.

I agree, except for the firestone's that i used to get on my pickup's and the explorer i had.

Those firestones where awesome. Great ride/ quiet and just fantastic in snow and rain and just great wear.

As i said, i had firestone's on my explorer when the ford/firestone had the recall. Took it in and they replaced the FS with michellins. I can tell you honestly that i did not like the michellins at all.

Friend of mine and i bought escords at the same time. Both had michellins....they wore out within 30,000 km. On both our cars.

I had Pirelli/BFGoddrich /Goodyear/ And other brands of tires.

I go for firestones in a second. No idea if they are as goood as in the past, now that bridgestone owns firestone. I will find out next time i have to buy tires.

  10. the interface is too cluttered, there are too many things on the screen at the same time. Look at how other companies do it. Consumers don't want to deal with so much information at the same time.

i don't have a problem with the screen. I find it better then the small buttons on my 08 MKZ.

Now the tiny recessed button below the screen are another story. I don't even plan on using those.

We can do just about everything by voice too.....providing "she" responds to the commands, which she doesn't always do. Another software related quirk, i suspect.

  11. I think that many of the reported problems simply come from bringing to the masses technology that they don't necessarily know how to use.

In part, yes. The interface is rather simple to use, not arguing that it isn't.

Now if there where no black screens, lockup's, slow response issues/ sync and other frequent problems people have, and are experiencing with this new system....., one could say that this is beyond some peoples ability to manage it. Like my 76 year old neighbor for example.

Nobody can really enjoy all it has to offer on a dependable basis until the system's quirks have been corrected . Some had the updates done with good results but are still mentioning small issues.

Once it has been perfected, nobody will have reason to complain.

  12. There's as much proof his IS an employee as there is that he is NOT. Troll? Snitch? Naive public sniffing around?

All possible. But being respectful in advising him that he's like a snowball in hell in a tanning bed with the furnace on high, would be the courteous thing to do.

Nothing in his post is suggesting that he IS a employee. Therefore the heads-up.

  13. Question for STAP employes: Since you know your closing date, what options have you been given, if any? Transfers, Buyouts, Unemployment? I realize that you are in Canada so the options may be different than what we might get, but it is still one Ford company so I would assume that the options should be similar. Thanks for any info.

No transfers to speak of. Oakville has been canvassed , as far as i know ....(except for maintenance).

Apparently nobody wanted to take advantage of the package that was offered . Therefore no job opportunities for STAP workers.

There are 5 diff. category's for us. Depending on seniority.

I only know details of the one that apply s to me, 30 years and over going into pension plus gets 70 grand plus a car voucher worth 35k or 25k cash.

I hade a printout of all the 5 categories. I'll see if i can find it .

  14. Hi I recently graduated from High School barely going to turn 18 next week and I really wanted to know what it takes to get a job in the Assembly Plant? I live a few blocks away from the Chicago Assembly Plant since 2003 which might be a good thing, also my mom has a friend who wanted to apply for a job they're (Davis Staffing) but they told him he needed previous manufacturing experience and that put my hopes down because I really wanted to work there and I would work there my entire life If I had the chance because I have loved cars ever since I was a kid. I would really appreciate if anybody can give me some advice on getting a job at the Ford Assembly Plant.

Dont get cought by the admin's posting in this Employee forum only

  15. how to get a job at ford? if it were easy i have a bunch of people that would be working here. unfortunately its "who you know or who you blow". so unless you know someone in the union or in the office you're fighting an uphill battle thats not worth it, go to college or a trade school. i wish i had.

I find a lot of truth to that as well. In our plant, to the best of my knowledge, all new hires and summer help got in because of "who you know". Which is either saleried or hourly emploees. Not aware of any " who you blow" going on. At least i wasnt in the receiving linup. (not in the giving either!):shades:
