  1. Nice! I couldn't wait so I ended up picking one up from a local dealer from their inventory. I'm very happy with it. Lariat, Screw EB, silver. Good luck work yours.

Art, Good choice. Mine was supposet to have been built Tuesday with an estimated delivery 4/25. After 7 weeks, I kinda wish I would have just bought one...... Enjoy. Bob

  2. I ordered the LT's on my FX4. Yes they are still the Wranglers. They are damn good looking tire in my opinion! I have never had them on a vehicle before so I can't speak for their durability but so far I really like them. I think it's worth the upgrade price personally. You will be spending a LOT more then the $275 on aftermarket tires. I know I will be upgrading wheels & tires next year and I think for the price it's worth it for the interim. Much better then the P tires for a truck in my opinion.

    BIGDKC,

Thats what I hoped to hear. Plus they are better for towing and off-road. Thank you.

  3. I test drove both an EB and a 5.0. Both test drives were in similar vehicles (XLT, SCrew, 4x4, 3.55 LS rear axle). The EB had impressive acceleration once the transmission downshifted and the turbos spooled up. Engine was quiet. The 5.0 also had impressive acceleration without the "thrust" feeling that turbo motors sometimes have. This is difficult to explain, but every turbocharged vehicle I've driven (1980 Mustang Turbo, mid-90s Eagle Talon TSi, 2005 VW GTI 1.8T) seems to accelerate faster than your mind expects it to. What sold me on the 5.0, though, was the sound. I walked back into the dealership with a big smile on my face and the salesman knew I was hooked. On a practical level, I think either engine is a good choice. The fuel economy ratings between the two engines are very close. If you plan to tow, the EB gives you horsepower and torque similar to the 6.2 without the fuel economy penalty. If you don't plan to tow, I think the 5.0 will be more fun to drive and $750 less expensive.

bb37 Well said and I second your reasining. Since I will be towing I went for the Eco.

  4. Someone has got to know the answer to this. Also I was looking at the payload specs for the 4x4 157" screw with the 3.5 eco and it stated 7350* gvw or 7700* gvw. Reading below it says *needs max tow package. So does that mean that even though I have a 7350 gvw truck, I have the same equipment as the 7700 gvw truck?

One other difference I never understood. the MAX TOW package includes an "upgraded bumper." Does anyonew know what the "upgraded bumper" is?? Thank you.

  5. I have bought two new f-150s and just order another in jan. Every truck i have gets the p rating tires and they fail around 25000 miles. Why won't ford let you order the LT tires without the off road package?

double chack and confirm with the dealer. I believe most models allow you to order the LT tires without the Offroad package (may require the towing package). Also some dealers with provide a credit on your P tires towards aftermarket tires. Good luck.

  6. my order still shows unscheduled clean. how about you have you heard anything on your truck?

I just check and my order (sent to Ford on Feb. 22) with Forsd Customer Service and they say it is now "in processing." I am not sure how this differs, if at all, from the "unscheduled clean" status I received from my delarer last week. Bob

  7. Greetings from Dana Point, CA. Ordered a 2011 F-150 SCREW 4x4 EB Lariat and can't wait. I owned a ranger in college and then fancy cars. Really looking forward to having a truck again. ....

  8. I already have the brochure and the coupon expired, that's my point. Yeah, I can keep requesting them but you don't get a coupon every time and once they send you one they probably will not send another.

If they are going back to the factory and then being re-released the weather has nothing to do with it.

OK, Please keep us all posted. this is VERY interesting and pertinent news. Thank you.

  9. Either rules have changed or something? It appears you can order with x-plan. I for some reason remember in the past you had to choose from what's on the lot

    ". PRODUCTS

    Eligible Products

Current Ford, Lincoln model year and prior model year vehicles sold in the United States. See your local dealer for vehicle eligibility.

Vehicles may be ordered from production or, if the dealer agrees, may be selected from the inventory of the dealership. Dealers are not required to participate, but if they do, they must be an authorized Ford Motor Company dealer for the product sold and agree to abide by the New Vehicle Purchase Program guidelines set forth in this document."

Both dealers I spoke to said I can order using X-plan. Go for it :)

  10. I still haven't heard anything from my dealer yet. Just wondering if you have. It seems like not too many people that are on this forum are from Cali ordering trucks. Very interesting.

Art, No word yet but it has only been a week. I will check with my dealer today to ensure my order was accepted and post as soon as I hear something. Also to others, you can order with the X-plan but ensure you check the Costco plan, which may be better...... Cheers from So. Cal.
