  1. So you are saying I can get the 3.73 without getting the track package? The build site shows it only if you get the track package.

The 3.73 rear axle option is most certainly available on the 2013 Mustang GT's. I have (2) 2013 GT's built and in transit to our dealership now. The 3.55 & 3.73 ratios were restricted to retail orders only for some time during the 2012 MY due to CAFE requirements.

  2. That was his point - they should have been left optional.

I think Tuxedo Black should be an option as well. I've notice thay have started to paint other vehicle Tuxedo Black again. And why would thay take the 3.73:1 option down for the 2013 GT's? The 302 Boss' are still getting them and they run down the very same production line.

  3. My 2012 GT came with the 18" polished wheels. I would like them chromed and have read about exchange chrome wheels. My question is will chroming wheels like mine with a lot of radius curves last very long ? I like the wheels but I can already see up keep on polising will be a pain. Chrome looks better and will be easier to clean. Anyone try chroming these wheels yet ?

    Thanks...

I have done a chrome exchange for my '06 Lariat with 20" wheels. They were done very well and I had no problems with them. And yes you are so right, they are easier to clean and nothing looks better than chrome. hope this helps..........

  4. Thanks Ice. By the way, do you work at Flat Rock? I found an article saying the company in Japan started shipping the paint back in June. If you are at Flat Rock, are there any plans to start the Lava Red back up? Thanks again for any info.

The 2012 Mustang USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) opened on 11/08/2010, scheduling started on 12/02/2010 and the Job #1 date was 02/03/2011. Ford has not yet started posting any timetables for 2013 MY ordering or production. By law the 2013 Mustang cannot be available for sale prior to January 1, 2012. I'd expect to see a 2013 MY Job #1 Date in February 2012.

  5. The 2012 model year started Oct of 2010 which I thought was kind of early. My question is: Does anyone working at Flat Rock know when the 2012's stop and the 2013's orders start? Thanks for any info you can provide. I missed the 2012 Lava Red and was wondering how long I might have to wait to see what's offered for 2013.

  6. Glad to improve you're day Tim. Hopefully you will get yours soon. With that article saying they will resume shipping in June, I would have thought they would have added Lava Red back. As of last week thay had not, and it's July already. Was hoping someone at the Mustang plant would see this and reply. Again, hope you get yours soon!

Looks to be valid, quick google search of Merck and reopen throws up a bunch of links. Great find!

Also, this means we might not lose Kona Blue either!

You've improved my day as I have a Kona Blue order in right now myself!

    Thanks,

    Tim

  7. Thanks for the input. I take it the salesman that told me they found a new vendor for the Tux black was misinformed, and then passed it on to me.

Technically it isn't a "pigment" that's an issue it's the "Xirallic" additive that they use to make the metallic effect that Kona Blue, Tuxedo Black and Lava Red has. It's only made by one company (Merck) and it's only made at one plant, the one in Japan. Merck plans to make a second plant to make the additive but until then even Tuxedo Black won't be available. The replacement black is not Tuxedo black.

  8. Anyone know if they have found a new vendor for the Lava Red pigment they need? My salesman said they found one for the Tuxedo Black. Waiting to order........................
