  1. I bet you knew somebody to get hired at Ford,

that's just how it works bud !

yes i did i knew uncle sam i was in the army and ford was hiring people from the military-------and there was no contractual language about a prefered hiring list that there is in this great contract from our union---the temps and ach should have first choice=preferential

  2. The rumor that MAP is hiring people off the street is, to my knowledge, completely false. I was one of those new hires at MAP and I have been a temp since January of 2007. Everybody in the group I hired in with had previously been a temp as well. So as far as I can tell, they haven’t hired anybody off the street. At least not yet anyway.

The only thing questionable about the MAP hirings is that is appears they didn’t do it by seniority. We were told last year that Ford would hire based on seniority ( but only counting seniority as far back as November of 07), yet from what I can tell, many of the new hires in the first couple groups were MAP temps that were brought in only last year. That means that the guy I work next to has 3 weeks more seniority than me, yet has only been a temp for Ford for less than a year. According to what we were told by the Union, that wasn’t supposed to happen. That being said, it’s hard for me to be upset about it since I now have a full time job.

During my time as a temp I’ve been to several plants and my experience with the union in those plants has been less than pleasant. I hear Local 900 is one of the good locals in the Ford system and the fact that they were able to force the company to hire full time workers rather than use temps for the upcoming C-Crew tells me that what I‘m being told about Local 900 is probably true.

not what ive been told by an elected official at that plant-----there are people probably with internation ties who started in the last month with no previous ford work background --temp or ach! which is bullshit because these previous temps and ach workers had the rights to those job placements first.

  3. does any body know if a person took a buyout when my plant closed. Is it possibly to get back in a ford.how or who I can talk to.I heard I have seven years to do so.

Yep i heard you could. Its called the " Having your cake and eating it to" program contact your uaw international rep. They are hiring people right off the street at michigan assembly plant in wayne.

  4. Map has new people walking in off the street for those new low tier jobs. What happened to the PREFERENTIAL HIRING LIST that was stated in our latest nation agreement?Has any of the ach employees or temps from other facilities been offered these in zone jobs?Sounds like the international uaw is getting their people in first.I believe we should hire the temps and the ach people before people off the street get in ,they have put the careers on hold for these temp jobs and unsure futures. If you are a temp or ach employee call you union rep at your plant and have him follow up with answers asap!!!!!!!

  5. If you're talking about Team Leaders at DTP /Body Shop there was meeting last Jan with Management telling the team leaders to call out people on the line that seem to be a problem. It include people wanting bathroom and passes to medical. The union attended this meeting and my friend recorded on his phone what was said in there which was that management needs to know who the people are so they can disapline/write them up for being a disruption in the plant. The Union sat in the meeting not saying anything because the team leaders loved it and agreed to do it.

The sad part is, now you have employees that need relief, and team leaders are ratting those people out to make it sound like those people have problems and are misusing the system. The Union and local is full well aware of the issue that of team leaders and how they divide the workers and cause problems. Problems meaning (Time off, terminations), when I say terminations, 3 people were setup by supervision to be terminated and the union went along with it backing up the company.

Ask yourself will you be next?

    My Guess is YES.

the team leaders in the body shop building give their girlfriends and buddies bathroom(smoking) breaks all the time, then you need one and you cant find a leader anywhere?-------as far as im concerned they might as well be management positions because in body they are all pro company and have their heads up managements ass = top priority-----been told paint has the same shit going on =boss ass kissers

  6. Come to DTP and you will.

at dtp we have nick the used car salesman--- at our plant weve been fords top seller and we dont get shit ,shitty jobs shitty local contract and shitty reps--------next contract we need to vote out these clowns not reward them

  7. I have waited over 3 years to return to my tools. I can wait a month or two for these brave retirees leave. Thanks for the encouraging words, I can do the math.

Do I detect some sort of ill will towards the trades because the IUAW negotiated this $100,000 to get 500 of us back to our tools?

Better get out your fat pants from the basement now that your leaving production!

  8. I think some of you should drive pass raws and sterling they both have BIG BLUE FORD signs on them, yes they would like to make them low pay workers that's nothing new.

news flash captain obvious--- sterling and raws are both wall to wall low tier plants as of 2007 just read your old 2007 contract highlight book-----they been gutting rawsonville ever since more to come in following months----new work slow coming in if ever and old work leaving means assy plant here they come never to return to raws unless to stop in and thank joel for great contracts-----im embarassed i voted for him

  9. Believe what you want...but if you are offered a job in zone as a surplus employee (meaning ILO'd from ACH, RAWS, STERLING)...and you don't take it...you are out on strikes at this stage of the game.

surplus can also mean working employees from ach raws and sterling because when they dont have ilo'd from these places they wil take working surplus to fill assy plant holes and fill with low tier at the wall to wall low tier plant facilities.---- and pressgirl keep dreaming because by summer youll be building cars or trucks ----ha ha thanks again joel
  10. I dont know what planet your from but ACH plants have been closing for the past 10 years. If you dont go back to Ford Motor Company then just stay with the new company and watch the doors close permanetly.

Nobody is forcing anyone. You can voluntarily stay with the new company or voluntarily return to Ford.

The plant is saline and the special dark blue premaddonnas think they are to good for assembly plant work. Let them chew up their sub credits. But by not signing up just means when they are puy in ilo that the company can force them to any plant in the zone.Which means that when map puts on the third shift may 1st if they dont have enough people they will force low senoirty from the premaddona dark blue bunch.Or the company can send them to dtp to replace for medical or firing losses.Good luck with that dark blue.

  11. Heard Bill Ford was at the pole barn last night

meeting with the French company and he told

Them sorry but we are not going to sell to you cause

the union has allowed them to turn the plant

    into a 2nd Tier plant.

But tom kanitz cut a special 2tier deal that would keep all the existing employees at traditional wages! And thats sweet so they can keep there premium jobs instead of having to be forced to map to take all those trim and final and chassis jobs.Rawsonville has that same similar deal for their membership.Seems to be working out good for them! I wish i was there.

  12. The saline people have dodged the bullet again! Ive heard from my union connection at international that the sale to the french company isnt gonna happen. He also said it looks like they might get pulled back under the blue oval again.Looks like the ford workers that stayed there were smarter than most thought for holding out and not bidding on wayne or dearborn jobs.Qudos to you!

  13. I'm looking for some advice and direction from my union brothers and sisters so that I can get some resolution to constant harrassment and threats made toward me since I transferred from Michigan out west in 2007. I'm a 22 yr. employee and come from a plant of 1900 that was closed. I understand the workings of the union, the representatives responsibilities, the politics and Ford policy. I have entered a facility that follows no coherent rule or policy when it comes to the shop floor or cutting back room deals with management. I'm frustrated with HR and their lack of support when I bring them legitimate complaints. The latest confrontation has pushed me over the edge and I am determined to find a resolution, so I am turning to those who I think can help, my union brothers and sisters back in the zone of union rules and accountability. Here's my issue:

Myself and a fellow transfer asked for a particular DAY OFF (personal time) a month in advance. We were both denied by mngmnt. because it was a MANDATORY 9 hr. work day. The union Chairman was asked to intervene. He came back and said the day was blocked for EVERYONE so the time would NOT be granted. Case closed in my opinion. When the day came, our union Chairman personally worked on the floor to help a "friend" finish his work in 2 hrs. They both left the building at 7pm while myself and the other employee who had asked for the time off were forced to stay till 10:30pm , the FULL 9 hrs. This was a deal worked out with the supervisor. Everyone involved, from the supervisor to the Chairman were well aware that we had asked and been denied the time off. Both myself and the other employee have MORE SENIORITY than the employee who left with the Chairman. In addition to this, another "friend" of the Chairman was AWOL on this day. Discussions the following day with the plant mngr. about WHY an employee was allowed to leave when we were told it was MANDATORY resulted in "it never should have happened and my supervisors have been talked to" along with the assurance that ANYONE who missed the mandatory work day would not be granted personal time after the fact. They would be marked AWOL. As you have probably already guessed, the AWOL for the "friend" who never showed for work was changed to E-time on the DROT the following week. So the day was mandatory and unavailable for myself and another employee a month in advance yet given to another employee who is a "friend" of the Chairman after not bothering to even show up! The Chairman also cut a deal with mngmnt. to work on the floor and leave early with another "friend" and union member. I hope everyone can see my frustration and understand my anger.

The other employee reported this to HR the following week. This resulted in the UAW Chairman confronting ME on the floor, in front of other union members just minutes into my shift. I won't go into all the details but I will say that he was threatening, hostile and aggressive. He was yelling at me about him getting in some type of trouble and said (among other things) "I'm just sayin - you'd better shut your f***ing mouth!" I immediately told him not to threaten me. Yes, this is MY union Chairman!

My question after this incident is how exactly do I handle this? I spoke with HR about the threat and they have yet to even follow up with statements from the people who were standing there when it happened. Are there any other avenues that I can pursue? I have NEVER been threatened by a union official in my entire time as a UAW member. I refuse to accept this treatment from anyone. Let me just say that this is NOT the first incident of harrassment in this facility, nor will it be the last I'm sure, but I'm determined to bring some accountability when I can. I would appreciate any and all comments and guidance in regards to what direction I should take.

The UAW code of Ethics clearly states that any and all union members have the right to freely criticize the policies and personalities of union officials.

    Thanks to all...

Wow a another chairman who thinks he gods gift to the plant! Good luck brother .

  14. It's a shame all the "Light Blue" were forced to go to Saline and be able to work overtime and most avoid layoff. It's terrible they forced you to sign a paper staying it would be a temporary assignment. It's ashame the International Union made up the Light Blue BS. So I say to all of you who understand this good luck in all of your future endeavors. To the few of you crybaby fucks who think the world owes you a favor eat shit especially you jerrymaker, usedtobe898 and the number 1 dumbest fuck of all....drum roll... dtpnick.

see you at mtp trim and final ball sack and you will be tired of it cause you are fixin to be the light blue all the descent shitty jobs were taken by low senoirity who were forced out allready and all they have left for your fat ass is puttin in headliners------ fat fuck and little car good combo

  15. Hey Jerrymaker, why don't you just do your fucking job and quit hating on everyone else. You're obviously just jealous. Stop being a pussy and shut the fuck up. Saline will be at assembly plants soon enough, fucko, then they'll deal with your stupid mouth. Hahahahaha

hey jerry maker quit hatin on the saline dark blue cause they are special and still swingin from tom kanitzs ball sack----the dark blue think the sale might once again fall thru and then they will get the last laugh again haha---- or maybe tom will call ahead to there new plants when forced out and get them some good jobs in trim and final and chassis ----- and also get them some c-crew action so they can make some money on their new cushy jobs climbing in to install headliners or maybe puttin in seats or droppin in the motors in the frame ect...----------no mater where they go there will be a bucket full of shit sandwiches waiting for them because all the decent shitty jobs were allready taken by the lowly light blue workers who got there first

  16. You know sweetlid it is terrible that so many trades have been forced to leave their tools throughout the company. It is also terrible to see Union Brothers and Sisters spew such hatred towards one another in an open forum or anywhere else for that matter. I've seen the post you jerrymaker and usedtobe898 have put on here and it is a shame you have all become exacltly what the company wants. Do you believe for one second the workers at Saline had anything to do with the Dark Blue, Light Blue, Orange bullshit or the local Union for that matter? Those are decisions that had to be made at the International level. Also do you think for one second any of the Trades at Saline or any other facility accept overtime to keep other laid off or Trades working production from coming back to their tools? Not a chance, if they don't do it the company will simply hire contractors to do the work instead. If you were told that by a Union official shame on him for even suggesting that. If placed in the same situation what would you do and don't say you would turn it down because that is BS and we all know it. Chivalry is dead my friend as noted in all of the negative post on this site. It is Dog eat Dog just the way the company likes it. This whole scappenario of pitting one local against another has been what the Unions fought to prevent for years but with our Governments help along with some free thinking Union officials it has finally become a reality and nothing I say here will change that and I know it. Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing the IUAW although I may not agree with all decisions they make it is certainly difficult times and they have a tough road ahead. That being said we've seen this for years in 3rd world countries, cut the food supply and friends and neighbors will rape and pilfer from each other to survive. I by no means meant to offend anyone with my comment but as history of this forum has it let the attack begin.

apparently here whats good for the goose isnt good for the gander!-------dk blue was protected and alot of them acted like their 5 year senoirty shit didnt stink ------ these times are a changin just sayin!!!!!

  17. i sure hope the sale to the french company falls thru---i would hate for the dk blue workers to have to come to dtp ,that wouldnt be fair! they are so used to their super senoirity there.---wouldnt be fair for them to go to c-crew after all that time workin whatever shift they please! and workin trim and final wouldnt be fair either after having just about any job they bid on with their super senoirtiy!----- well goodluck dk blue i hope everything works out for you, and that the sale to the french company falls thru so you can remain special!
