  1. Any chance that you'd have pictures of the sub opened up? How much stuffing did you use?

No Sorry, I didn't take any pics.. Not sure on how much, just "enough". I would estimate about a pound and a half or so.

Why did you fill the box?

There is a thread about "how to make your factory sub sound better" or something along those lines on the f150forum.com site. I read through it and decided to give it a try. It makes a noticeable difference!

  2. Does anyone have a 2011 with the LT tire. Are they still the Wranglers?? Do you tihink it is worth it to select this oprtion or simply get the P rateds and go for aftermarket LT tires? Thank you.

I ordered the LT's on my FX4. Yes they are still the Wranglers. They are damn good looking tire in my opinion! I have never had them on a vehicle before so I can't speak for their durability but so far I really like them. I think it's worth the upgrade price personally. You will be spending a LOT more then the $275 on aftermarket tires. I know I will be upgrading wheels & tires next year and I think for the price it's worth it for the interim. Much better then the P tires for a truck in my opinion.

  3. I am actually really impressed with the upgraded sony system. I go the 10 speaker, 6-disc system option in mine (no nav).

After reading up, I pulled the sub out and opened the box and filled it with poly-fill as others have suggested and it did in fact make a pretty noticeable difference. I think for the price paid it sounds really well. I would have liked to have had a mid level control or maybe a separate sub woofer control along side the treble & bass controls to be able to finely tune it a bit better, but overall I am happy.

I like the fact that I won't be pulling apart my dash and truck to run wires etc to install all the aftermarket crap I normally would. I pretty much always install upgraded audio equipment in my vehicles but find no need on this one.

  4. CyberDMan, prepare to be shocked!! :D

My truck magically did appear over the weekend!! I picked it up on Saturday!!

I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to keep me up to date with it when you could! I know I can speak for a lot of people here when I say what you do here really helps make this process easier for those of us waiting on the wire!

And I leave you with a pic of my new ride!

    I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!

  5. Can anyone explain what all equipment is installed by "upfitters" and not at the Dearborn plant?

In the tracking threads it is not uncommon for someone's vehicle to be shipped to and from an "upfitter" to have additional equipment installed prior to it being final shipped to the dealership. I am just curious what all the equipment might be??

    Thanks in advance

  6. In Transit - Shipped Convoy - Convoy # 111075016 (Jack Cooper Transport Co Inc ) Ramp 59, Dearborn Truck, MI Mar-17-2011, 11:25 ET.

I believe however that this shipping is probably only to and from the upfitter ramp for additional equipment. Your vehicle will be shipped to you via rail.

That is kind of why I hate supplying ETAs. They are in many cases way off and a lot of folks get their hopes up. You never know though.

Thank you for the update and information!

My dealer is under the impression it will be to him next week. He's obviously putting stock into the ETA as supplied by Ford. Personally from what I have seen on your tracking threads I am with you, I imagine it's just getting other equipment. I am curious what that upfitter equipment might be, but I will post that question on the F-series sub-forum.

I will check back with you next week and see what if anything has happened!

Thanks again for what you do for us!!

  7. My window sticker says "Convoy" in the "Method of Shipment" box. Dumb question I know, but that does mean my truck will be shipped from the plant to my dealer on a truck rather then by rail car correct??

Is one faster then the other? Truck VS Rail?

  8. Should the LT tires come standard on an FX4? I have an new 2011 SCREW FX4 on order and am expecting the LT tires on them. But I've read on other posts that people are getting the p rating tires on them. Hopefully it will come with the LT tires. If not, I am assuming the dealer will swap the tires on arrival.

No. The standard tires on the FX4 are the P rated tires. The LT tires are an upgrade, option code: T8C and if I remember correctly $275.

  9. That VIN is invalid

    1FTFW1ETEBFB10328 --> Incorrect CHECK digit

Here is the same VIN with a corrected CHECK digit (#9)

    1FTFW1ETXBFB10328

    http://www.inventory.ford.com/services/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=1FTFW1ETXBFB10328

Does that look like the truck you ordered?

F-150 FX4 Super Crew, Sterling Gray Metalic, 3.5 Liter Ecoboost, FX Luxury Package. Integrated Trailer Brake Controller.

Build date on window sticker is 2011/03/08

Yep, thats it!! Awesome thank you for catching that!

That was the VIN I was given by the dealer, and appearently they ford customer service rep could pull it up also. Strange, because yes that is my truck!! Thanks a bunch!!

  10. I called the customer service number that has been posted here on the forums to check status on my ordered truck. The gentleman looked up my VIN and then told me that my order is currently "in production and being built".

However my VIN number (1FTFW1ETEBFB10328) does not pull up the window sticker on the online VIN deal that has also been posted here on the forums.

According to my dealer the build week for my VIN was actually next week, the week of 3/7/11.

Sooo they are ahead of schedule??

I dunno, I'm confused. I was hoping to see the window sticker PDF!

The link I have with my VIN included is:

    http://www.inventory.ford.com/services/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=1FTFW1ETEBFB10328

Does that look correct to those in the know?

  11. From what I've read the factory spray-in liner is only done on trucks sourced from KC. If you happen to build a truck that has no way in blazes of being built at KC you don't get the option for a spray in. As far as how good it is, I've heard a mixed bag. The biggest complaint I've heard is that it is only covered under warranty for 3 years or 36k miles.

My dealer told me the same thing, could only be added on trucks sourced to KC. At the time I ordered EB F150's were not being built out of KC yet, so I left it off and decided to go the line-x route. From what I am hearing of the quality sounds like it might have been for the best!

  12. Thank you for the info! That is great news!

Can you tell me what the criteria would be that designates where a retail ordered truck is built if it could be built in more then one location?

As you can see I am local here in the KC metro area. I just ordered an EB F150 FX4 on 2/5/11. According to my dealer it is currently "previewing today for a 3/7/11 build week" whatever that means exactly..?

I would love to find out my truck is being built at the plant here by the local guys & gals! I'm guessing that would surely shorten up the transit/delivery times as well!!
