  1. Cyberdman,

It appears I may have ran into another problem concerning my car and I am wondering if you would mind checking on it if possible? Accourding to a section of the Ford commodity letter it states:

MUSTANG – SIMS - Commodities will vary by dealer

On July 21 - Scheduling Unscheduled Allocation in Week 29

    Paint Update

At this time estimates show that Kona Blue (L6) is available for Scheduling.

Final Yellow Blaze (NQ) orders are due on Thursday, July 21.

If this is true, I can only hope my order has recieved a VIN.....if not I could be looking at a changed color or worst case a cancelled order. I've put a call/email into my salesman about this but haven't hear back. I know you may be limited in what you can do but anything would be greatly appreciated. Below is the info you need and listed in the first post I sent to you.

    Order # 0002

    Dealer # F58600

    Body Code: P8C

As always, thank you for your help and putting up with my nagging posts/questions.

  2. If you already know you've got 3rd quarter allocation, then I don't even know why you are asking for anything. That means it won't be scheduled for production until sometime in the 3rd quarter of the year. Obviously no one in the world would know when you are going to get the car or when it will be built or shipped until after such time as it is actually scheduled to start production.\

Knowing what you already know - I wouldn't worry about bumping this thread until late - late July or early August.

The 3rd quarter allocation information I just recieved, so my apologizes for the previous posts. Had I known the dealership wasn't allowed to sell the car until sales for that quarter started I would have never asked for any assistance. For what it's worth I do appreciate you doing what you've done and I will bump this thread sometime in late July or middle August.

Again, sorry for the unecessary work..........I wish I would have had this information sooner.

  3. No change. It's waiting on something, I suggest speaking with your salesperson or asking the various Mustang forums for help / info.

Cyberdman I appreciate all the help you do but unfortunately my salesman knows less about the Boss 302 than I do. Odds are your information on a build date and more will be well before he knows anything.

Right now I know I've got a 3rd quarter "allocation" but not sure when it would be built or delivered. The forum boards I belong to are all saying sometime between August and September. It's all just a waiting game.

Thanks for your quick responses......I of course will check back in another month to see if anything has changed.

  4. Who knows, something that is on your order right now, is unavailable. Not sure it they are part shortages or supplier delays due to crisis overseas. You never know.

    Cyberdman,

I guess I am going to count on you for updates in the coming months because when Ford Customer Relations called me today they said the car was not being "Produced." I stated what do you mean it's not being "Produced" and she replied it's a specialty order correct? I told her it was a normal order like every other Boss Mustang but without the Recaro/differential option.

Through our brief conversation she was unable to even give me a ball park month let along this year type of answer.....the only thing she could tell me was the order has been placed and it would be several months before it was filled! She wasn't even able to tell me what quarter the build would start.

So my apologizes for rambling and I do thank you for what you've been able to tell me so far......I will just hit up the tracking request once a month to see if anything has happened.

  5. Cyberdman.....could I please get your assistance with tracking of my new 2012 Boss Mustang if possible? I've been thrown in many directions and can't seem to get any answers. Thank you for all of your help and the assistance you do for all new Ford owners on this forum.

Here is all the info I have to date:

    Ordered 2-14-11

    Order # 0002

    Dealer # F58600

    Body Code: P8C

    Case #: 1585100941

(This I received after calling Ford Customer Relation Center....but haven't heard anything from them.)

I would be happy with a guess as to what month production would begin!!

  6. Good question, who are using for your collectors insurance?

I have found Farm Bureau to have good rates and rate it under the GT Premium.

As long as the mileage is kept to a mimimum and rated as a show car or specialty vehicle they can price well with full coverage. JMO

  7. I ordered my 2012 Mustang GT in Kona Blue but I was tempted to order it in Lava Red, but the computer did not show that option nor would it accept the UZ code. Is it because it's a Canadian order.? I ordered on 1/15.

Good thing you decided not to go with the Red.....after the earthquake in Japan, I've heard several colors (red being on of them) will be harder to fulfill. I guess the pigment used in the color is supplied primarly from Japan.

Before I decided on the 2012 Boss Mustang, I was eager to purchase a 2012 Mustang Premium but was also one who was upset that Sterling Gray would not be a color choice this year. My ideas and plans were to do a "Eleanor" replica using that color.......now I just have to honor Mr. Jones with the Yellow and Black Boss.

Congrats on your new car and you will love the Kona Blue......it was my 2nd choice with the Boss.

  8. In additon to what I have posted above, this was also sent to me via email from my salesman:

"Boss Track Attack" Boss 302 Ford Racing Performance Driving Experiance- Buyers of Ford's highly anticipated Mustang Boss 302 get a high performance hands-on track driving experiance to learn just what their car is capable of as part of the new complimentary Boss Track Attack program. Ford picks up the cost of the 1 1/2 day experiance including meals.

The customer is responsible for transportation and lodging. Customers can get more information by logging onto www.bosstrackattack.com or calling 435-27-SPEED.

  9. Not Yet.

Will have to be done by a ford Performance Dealer.

Here is the information I got from my salesman:

    1. Trackey-(After transfer of title to the consumer)

Consumer has the opprotunity to have "Trackey" Powertrain Control Module software installed at your dealership. This software is only available to the Boss Owners after the consumer purchases their vehicle. This software should be available for installation late summer of this year. Log on to www.trackey.ford.com for further information. You can also call the Ford Racing Performance Group Hotline at 1-800-367-3788.

Price for "Trackey" is $302 plus dealer labor after they take delivery of their car.

  10. Since this is a cool offer Ford is giving away with all new purchases of a Boss 302 I felt this would be the appropriate place to start a thread.

From what I know is all new Ford Boss 302 owners will receive a free full day at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. This full day will include instruction about your new vehicle and time on the track with a professional driver. The only thing you have to provide is your transportation to the facility and lodging while staying there....Ford will provide you with the vehicles to drive.

As of now this is all I know about the program.....listed below is a link to their (Milller Motorsports) site.

  11. The Bosses are not allocated like normal orders and are pulled directly by the Zone rep.

What you need to find out first is what quarter your dealer has allocation in. No use checking now if your dealer has a Q4 build.

    Sparky,

I am told my dealer has it as a 3rd quarter allocation but was placed with another Boss order which was a 2nd quarter allocation. He has put a "priority" on both the order but I honestly do not know what/if any pull he has.

If anyone has any insight as to when 3rd quarter builds will take place that would be great. I am patient but do not want to bug my salesman every other day or week with questions. Trying to use several forums to gather information.

  12. 10 posts? Good to know. Guess i''m right behind you suprmn? 9 to go!

    Grabber,

I am unsure as to why we have to post 10 times before we can make a tracking request but its part of the forum rules. When did you order your car and have you gotten a VIN yet?

I ordered my 2012 Boss on February 14 and have been told by my salesman the vehicle is on "Material Hold" with no VIN.

  13. You can track it a few ways, but not on the web. Blueoval Forums has a vehicle tracking section, but you need at least 10 posts to use. It's done through the generosity of a Ford employees on this forum. Don't expect daily updates as I would imagine he gets barraged with hundreds of requests a day.

Ford Customer service can do it as well, and of course the dealer. You don't need a VIN to get tracked. All you need is order number, dealer number and body type (Mustangs GTs are P8C. I think the convertibles are P8F. There's also P8A. I think that's a V6 but I might be wrong).

I too plan to use the vehicle tracking section once I get my VIN from the dealer however, I still need 9 more posts....LOL.

I ordered a new 2012 Boss Mustang but everything about this car I've found to be difficult to get information on. Best of luck with your order.
