  1. Does anybody know of a source to get a complete listing of the voice commands available for Sync with the Sony Navigation system? I have a 2011 FX4 on order and have been trying to read up on the new truck. I know that there are like 10,000 voice commands now. The owner's manual only has a fraction of that number and they are dispersed throughout the manual in different sections.

I guess I'm looking for a printable reference of some kind to see what all the commands/capabilities are.

  2. I would like to be able to get heated and cooled seats on an FX4. Those black seats will be hot this summer. In general it would be nice if you had more freedom to pick and choose options. I know a buddy of mine is not buying a new F150 simply because he can't find a way to get the options he wants on one truck.

    +1

I have an FX4 on order, but would have loved to have the cooled seats. I couldn't stand the blonde woodgrain trim in the Lariat, so I went with the FX4. But in general, I agree, it would be very nice to be able to mix and match the options instead of having to "settle" for a truck that doesn't have exactly everything you want -- especially when it is a $45,000 vehicle.

  3. IIRC, the biggest difference in the Max Tow package is the 3.73 gears. The regular tow package is available with any gearset, even the 3.15 on 2WD EcoBoost F-150s (max 8600 pound tow rating)

So then by going with the FX4 (which comes standard with the 3.73 gears), you are essentially getting the Max Tow package included?

  4. I'm sure it isn't everything, but if you go to the 2011 order guide, it shows which features are new to which models this year.

Yeah, I've done that. I guess I was kind of looking for things like:

    - a fix for the leaky sirius radio antenna (not sure if this is true, hopefully it is)

    - a fix for the leaky 3rd brake light (not sure if this is true, hopefully it is)

    - ability to have heated seats come on with remote start (i know this is true)

  5. Sure thing -

    I called 1-800-392-FORD

Push option 1 for english, then press option 4 for "New Vehicle Sales, Marketing and Owner Advantage Rewards Program", then option 1 for "Sales Brochures and Other Questions About Buying a New Vehicle".

I have *never* been put on hold - you will be speaking to a live operator.

They ask for this information (usually in this order):

    Your full name

    Your ZIP code

Your dealer code (You need your Vehicle Order Confirmation sheet for this)

Your order number (Also on the Order Confirmation)

    Your Address

    Your phone number

    Your email address

They won't give you as much information as the dealer could, but they will give you the current status, and can give you the VIN # (Ask for the VIN if you don't have it). The CS rep I talked to told me that dealers get a daily email and have access to a ton more email than they give the CS reps.

Their hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 PM M-F, closed on weekends

    Thanks for the information!

  6. Does anybody know of a way to see all the changes/fixes/improvements that have been made from the 2010 model year to the 2011 model year trucks? Everyone knows of the big changes like the new engine lineup. Just curious if there is a way to see a complete listing.

  7. High gas prices are no fun. I could probably get by without a truck because I don't need one for my job and don't use all the features of a truck all the time. But when I do, it sure is nice to have. I know that owning a truck will cost me more in gas -- but that is the cost of having that luxury. I would rather cut back on some other luxuries like going out to dinner as often or going to a movie and have the enjoyment and convenience of my truck when I need it.

I have a 2011 FX4 SCREW on order and absolutely can not wait for my new truck!

  8. As Bajabobby said, check with the dealer and the ford site as I know there are additional tire options on certain trim levels and your dealer might even swap tires on arrival.

Should the LT tires come standard on an FX4? I have an new 2011 SCREW FX4 on order and am expecting the LT tires on them. But I've read on other posts that people are getting the p rating tires on them. Hopefully it will come with the LT tires. If not, I am assuming the dealer will swap the tires on arrival.

  9. Quick Review of my new 2011 F-150. FX4

Ecoboost motor is SUPER quiet. Good power and very smooth.

Transmission is the best part of the truck. 2nd-1st Gear down shift is a lot better then 2009's. Select shift is a fantastic option and works flawlessly.

90% of driving so far has been city driving. The turbo's work so great along with the 3.73 gears the transmission likes to use 4th and 5th gear even going up hills. Speed around 50-60 Km/h.

Gas mileage is around 17-19L/Per 100 KM. Dash calculated

Noticed small puff of Black smoke/aka to much fuel when first getting into boost from start. I only noticed this twice in the first day of driving the truck. Not sure if the ECM has correct the problem or not but I have not noticed since.

Dash is lay out is great and looks nice at night.

Tires: Good Year Wrangler P 276/65/18 SRA. These are not a A/T tire like the window sticker shows and are GARBAGE in the snow. Also seem very soft. F-150 should come standard with LT tires.

    That's all for now.

Awesome to hear! I'm patiently waiting for my FX4 to be built. Why would you not get the A/T tires with the FX4?

  10. Factory holdups happen all the time, wouldn't be anything I'd base a vehicle purchase on.

Maybe they're holding it so that it doesn't get stuck by the winter storm predicted for this Wednesday, I hear its gonna be absolutely disusting.

The coupons are in the brochures - call Ford at 800-392-FORD, select option 1, then 4, then 1 and they'll be very happy to send you a brochure :)

Thanks for the information. I ordered my 2011 FX4 SCREW on 2/28 and got an email from my dealer the other day with my VIN # and a scheduled build for the week of 3/14. I'm hoping that this factory holdup doesn't delay things.

Also, with regards to the coupons in the brochures, I had requested one via Ford's website quite awhile ago and haven't received anything. Maybe I'll give that phone number a try. So if I receive the coupon before I get my truck, I should be able to use it, right?
