  1. Whether or not you buy an extended warranty is a fairly personal decision. The 2 vehicles I've owned that had extended warranty's were at opposite ends of the spectrum, one more than paid for itself and the other was barely used. In any case, never, never, never buy any aftermarket warranty (only manufacturer). If you decide to get one, search online and shop around, prices can vary greatly.

Agreed. Mostly a personal decision. I had a extended warrenty on a previous car and there was no need but the previous car I had I could have used it and I didn't have it. Not really much help from me but you can justify it either way.

  2. My dealer told me from the time they get invoice to truck being on there lot has only been taking 2 weeks. Hope that is true as I got my VIN.invoice a week ago

That sounds very optimistic! I dont think I have seen anyone get their truck two weeks after getting their VIN...Good luck though. If that is the case I will be pleasantly surprised when mine shows.

  3. Waiting on the arrival of a new 2011 Edge Limited AWD and I'm curious to know what people are seeing for mileage? Is it possible to attain 23-24 mpg on the freeway cruising at 70-75 mph?

I currently drive a 2009 AWD Edge Limited and I have taken it on several road trips. I would say the best mileage I noticed was somewhere around 23-24mpg but typical driving of mix highway and city averages around 20 during the summer months and a little less during the winter months.

  4. He said by the end of March - which would be what, 6-7 weeks? I had a Priority Code of "10" on my order plus this dealer seems to get ordered vehicles fast. My parents ordered a Ecoboost in Arkansas and they were told 12 weeks too. I think it does depend on the dealer. I could be wrong though.

Did the dealer update you on delivery? Curious to know if it comes in around the time the dealer told you.

  5. Quick Review of my new 2011 F-150. FX4

Ecoboost motor is SUPER quiet. Good power and very smooth.

Transmission is the best part of the truck. 2nd-1st Gear down shift is a lot better then 2009's. Select shift is a fantastic option and works flawlessly.

90% of driving so far has been city driving. The turbo's work so great along with the 3.73 gears the transmission likes to use 4th and 5th gear even going up hills. Speed around 50-60 Km/h.

Gas mileage is around 17-19L/Per 100 KM. Dash calculated

Noticed small puff of Black smoke/aka to much fuel when first getting into boost from start. I only noticed this twice in the first day of driving the truck. Not sure if the ECM has correct the problem or not but I have not noticed since.

Dash is lay out is great and looks nice at night.

Tires: Good Year Wrangler P 276/65/18 SRA. These are not a A/T tire like the window sticker shows and are GARBAGE in the snow. Also seem very soft. F-150 should come standard with LT tires.

    That's all for now.

How is the truck been treating you since? Any changes as you break it in? I am expecting mine in a few weeks...it cant come soon enough!

  6. Hi just thought I would share my timeline so far

3-5 ordered 2011 fx4 eb screw tux blk

received my vin from dealer 3-21

i was able to see my window sticker 3-23

    build date of 3-30

thats a pretty good turn around...I ordered 2/26, got my VIN 3/22 with a build date of 3/26. hope to have it before the end of april for my road trip!!

  7. You'll have to let us know whether your build goes on time. I'm undecided as to whether the hold paint-based material hold is legit or just dealer BS. I just hope I still get a VIN by the end of the month.

I ordered tuxedo black as well and mine is supposedly in production...be interested to see if this is true or not.

  8. My fx4 has been built in dearborn but I cant get any more information and its been over a week. Whats going on

How long ago did you order, when did you get your VIN and what was the production date? From what I have been reading on here and another forum it typically takes about 4-5 weeks from the production date to arrive at the dealer. I am told mine is in production so I am hoping to have it before the end of April.
