  1. MY son does the La conte trip in same day- I'd have to stay overnight! (booked a yr in advance ) and I don't like the part where there is a ledge and a great drop-heights are not good for me! Good to know about restaurant-thanks

We stayed at neighbors" (here in Melbourne) condo. Not so lucky this yr-

We buy the corn bread mix and jams at the park gift store! Also got a good deal on shirts last yr as they were changing stylel-made my husband go to all gift shops!!

94 on patio now at 2.

When is your truck coming in?

We spend the night on LeConte. Wifes family has been going every year for last 41 years.

My truck is scheduled to be built next Wednesday. Then however long it takes to get fron Dearborn to here. Ordered May 18th. Longest wait on any I have ordered.

Dislike this heat more every year.

  2. X plan is higher than it used to be - by $275. It used to be under dealer invoice. The other benefits are the $100 cap on doc fees (these can be as high as $400-$600) and additional rebates (usually in cases where there is dealer cash available - x plan buyer gets the dealer cash, not the dealer).

It's still a fair price and an easy way to buy a vehicle without haggling and without fear of being ripped off.

Any way to know if dealer cash is available? I have a truck being built next week. Invoice with no fees deal. A little better than straight x plan. But if there is dealer cash available x plan may be the better deal. I think my dealer will go either way. And if there is I will have to find a pin.

  3. We usually stay at Gatlinburg Falls Resort. Great views of Mt. LeConte. Only down side is we spend most of our time on the North end of Pigeon Forge near Sevierville so it's a little bit of a drive every day.

I can taste those Applewood Family Restaurant apple fritters and homemade apple butter now........

When we are in the area we eat there just for the fritters and apple butter.

    BTW

I believe the Applewood owners run the LeConte Lodge concession also.

  4. That is good news regarding tax ~! thanks!

Sun state ford orlando also honors x plan.

We like Smokey mt National Park-Stayed in condo in Gatlinburg-last 3 times -we would like a condo, but not at a resort community. we like the surrounding 20 milesor so.

Where in Nc is your place? Near the huting area? We like the ashville, hendersonville area and almost bought there before we came here.

Lake Lure. 20 miles from Hendersonville. Easy drive up 95 and across 26. Have you hiked Mt LeConte? If not look it up next time your in Gatlinburg.

  5. Yah-thanks

We will have X-plan-so far it looks like we will have to go to Daytona bEACH 6.5& tax though Estero (ft meyersarea )has 6%..---

We go to Costco and Orlando shopping, and travel to tenn mts so need more space to transport ; also want to get tow package---

    Stay cool-93 forecasted for today

Like akirby stated. You will only pay Brevard County 6% rate no matter where you buy it.

Where in TN? We have second home in NC and wife born in east TN.

  6.

Good luck on your purchase! I'll see you on Wickham!

What dealer did you use, and did you use the X-plan?

Bartow Ford. Cant deal with our local dealers. Did a little better than X-plan with purchase for my business.

  7. I have the 3.73 E-locking rear differential -

The differential itself is an open diff unless you pull the knob out and lock the rear axle, and then it's a locked diff. No limited slip or anything at any other time.

The traction control is incredible - I've spun gravel from both rear tires on a gravel road even with the open diff, and pulled through some snow that would normally stop a vehicle in 2WD in its tracks.

There are 3 traction control modes -

Traction Control - this is just the accelerator limiter, press TC button to turn off

AdvanceTrac - This is the stability control, hold TC button for 5 seconds to turn off.

    * All TC turns back on at 35 MPH, or stays off permanently in 4-LO

One-Wheel Slip control - This makes the open diff behave as a limited slip diff. Can not be turned off.

Good to hear. Went 4x4 with 3.31 gears which are not available with LS. Figured I could add aftermarket LS if needed. Am only around snow 1 or 2 times a year and wanted 3.31 for fuel economy rest of the time.

  8. Getting a little better than that with my F-350 CC LB, 6.2 w/ 4.30 gears on the highway (around 14). Around town I'm hard on the pedal, getting about 10.5 worst case scenario.

Mine has 4.10 gears and 11 around town without being hard on the pedal.

  9. I have a Lariat Screw, 4x4, EB, 6.5 on order. I deleted the Nav after 4 weeks with no scheduled build date. Now I am seeing 20" tires as holding up orders. Any comformation on that? Sure wish I could find a 6.5 bed in stock. Gave up my trade when order was placed.

  10. Anyone with first hand experiance with TC on 2011 truck? Have heard that the TC is improved on 2011 trucks compared to prior years. Seems to work much more like a locked rear with the TC applying braking to one wheel at a time instead of one axle.

  11. Remember a few years back the first time I took ny grown sons to see the race. One commented while watching just out of turn four that of all the racing he had seen that he could not do that. . Saw an interview a couple of years with one of the winners and he said he had the same thoughts the first time he was there seeing the cars on track.
