It's sitting in one right now

Yeah, I did the same thing, but after about a day it was still triggering the panic alarm. I'll try it again in a few days.. The best part is two key fobs were washed..

...aannnnd never mind, it finally popped off. Apparently I was being too careful..

So, fun question...
I have the keyblade for my 2013, no Remote Start :\
My wife accidentally washed her keys today, and now her key blade is shorting out and triggering the panic alarm. Does anyone know if you are able to open these easily with out breaking it? Looking at the owners manually and not seeing a picture like the remote start fob, I want to say they are not meant to be open with out being broken.
Thanks!

My dealer scheduled my first oil change for me at 3000 miles. Their reasoning being that oil may be 'dirty' sooner due to the engine being broken in. Didn't matter to me as that is one appointment I didn't have to schedule and my appointment just happened to be scheduled when the last recall happened so it was there anyway.

Yeah, I got that update when I took my Escape in for the last recall. There is a picture in one of the recall threads I believe..

That is nice. It was getting annoying to hold the button don three times to reset the trips.

Dealer called me a little while ago Tomorrow is my time.
My Dealer has been top notch with me since this whole thing happened.
I will finally get to drive my own car for the first time.
Ordered it 10 weeks ago and have made my first payment already.
I talked to my dealer and they said they *just* got the update today. Vehicles will be done in the order they were recived, I beleive I was one of the first to drop off my vehicle. So I hope to get a phone call tomorrow to go pick it up.

Looking foward to those changes, once they call me to pickup my car.. I can't wait to get rid of the rental...
-
Damn, I filled up the day before I dropped it off. If I knew that I would of taken it in as is!
-
I beleive I was one of the first at my dealer too.. I called the day after the recall was issued and dropped it off the following Monday.
I hope to get it back asap, since I'm not liking the rental care they gave me.

Looks like they found a fix: http://corporate.ford.com/news-center/press-releases-detail/pr-ford-produces-fix-in-voluntary-37491
So we should get our Escapes back next week.

Dropped mine off at the dealer this morning. The service department wasn't aware of the Escape recall yet. They gave me a 2013 Edge Limited.

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up. Out of curiosity, was the climate control system running (A/C on?) when you did the update? One of the successful Focus updaters indicated he was actively running the climate control during the update.
edit: also, do the voice controls for climate still work after the update?
I had the climate controls off, didn't feel like sucking more gas while it had to sit there idle for 30minutes to install the update, and it was a nice cool day out.
I haven't tried the voice yet, I'll have to try that out tonight.

I updated my Escape over the weekend and I tired out the climate quadrant and it seemed to work fine for me.

Finally received the recall letter from Ford. Looks like they don't expect to have parts to repair the issue until Q2 of this year.
