  1. What's the price of the Mondeo relative to that of the Fusion vs. the MKZ? If Europeans don't have a downscaled option, I'd say that it sucks for them more than us, but I don't know if that's the case or if they're getting all the bells and whistles for a better price. And are those lights optional, or are they upgrades? I remember reading somewhere that car buying in Europe is a lot more like ordering from an a la carte menu.

  2. Beautiful! I'm quite partial to the color, too! Hope you love it as much as I love mine.

Just took delivery of my Fusion Hybrid, loving it so far - average MPG is up to 40.5 since resetting it at the dealership after about 70 miles of driving this weekend. Amazing how quiet the ride is. Only issue I have noticed is that the shift knob is not leather wrapped but the dealership is looking in to it for me.

  3. Today we did the same trip; I drove both ways since my husband has a broken foot. Up the mountain averaged about 32 mpg and coming back down averaged about 52, so about 42 mpg overall. That's not bad, considering that this time on the way back I drove faster and worked more to keep up with traffic than I had the time before.

What I'm starting to realize is that this car will do very well on extended drives. Short trips, not as well. Still, this is not any worse mileage than I got in my Prius, overall. I'm a happy camper.

  4. I can't imagine why the Hybrid Titaniums would have a harder time recieving the "Okay to Buy" then the Energis. They already make Titaniums, and they already make Hybrids. The Energi is the newbie. I feel like Ford could have the Hybrid Titaniums in production tomorrow, but are probably pushing them aside to get the Energis out. The Energis being the newest and best to complete with other Plug-ins. We get to be Red-Headed Stepchilds having to wait until everyone else gets their cake.

Agree. This is one thing that really helped me change my mind about the Titanium. Not only were they not coming out with all the features we'd initially expected, but it seemed to me that they were being pushed back to get the Energis out there ONLY because they are less profitable for Ford. That leaves a lot of customers hanging for no good reason. If I had wanted to wait until mid-year I would have thought about ordering a 2014 instead.

  5. My trips are usually short and they vary quite a lot. Took a trip to the grocery store today; was 28mpg going there and 62mpg coming back. On my second tank of fuel now (the first tank that I put in myself) and so far on that tank my average is hovering around 38mpg. I work in a populated area and if I don't accelerate quickly enough in traffic it's not pretty. I'm finding it is those heavy accelerations that are eating up most of my average.

Still, this is about the same overall mileage I got in my Prius, so I'm not losing anything. I am hoping to continue to figure out ways to do better.

  6. I am using Spotify on my iPhone in the car and find it to be very good quality. I'm thinking that I probably will not renew the Sirius subscription; have not found much there that interests me and, you are right, much of it sounds pretty low-bandwidth.

  7. I had given up on getting the brochure. It came in the mail the day after I bought my car, with the coupon. I thought, wow, just my luck. Today I got a call from my sales manager-- they found the coupon in their system and are going to give me a $750.00 rebate check. Sweet! I didn't even have to ask them for it.

  8. Definately made sense for you to opt for the SE then ... Plus you have the Dune interior you could not get in the Ti trim.

Yes! And it's funny, because I didn't think I wanted that color, but I really do love it. It makes the inside of the car seem more spacious and luxurious, and the leather really stands out. Since I spend far more time inside the car than admiring the outside, I couldn't be more pleased with the changes I ended up making in order to "compromise" on this car. It's no compromise at all.

ETA: I also really like the wheels I ended up with. All in all, it's a class act. But they all will be.

  9. Yes, the original time frame I was told was scheduling likely to start in November and production in December. Then that was pushed back a few times. The "big deal" is that I had my old car appraised in November for $14,500 and it had already depreciated significantly when I picked up my SE this week. If I waited another two months (not one month, two months) who knows how much more money I would be losing? I budgeted for this purchase based on my best guess of when the car would arrive. As it is, I am paying more per month than I originally wanted to.

  10. Glad I didn't continue to wait. It might have been worth it if I hadn't had a car to sell. April delivery would have marked four years since I bought the Prius. I probably would have another 2k miles on it and would be worth at least $1000 less. I'll be happy for those of you who do still plan to wait for the Titanium when they do finally get here, though. One thing I am certain of is that you will love your Fusions.
