  1. Yep, but given mine was absolutely flawless for about 60,000 I didn't want to name names :D I did not trade due to that issue I just really liked the Fusion since the first time I saw a pic.
  2. HPFP? Similar, replacing an '09 Jetta. Wanted the Fusion since I saw the reveal @ the auto show...........the mpg is going to hurt but what the heck.
  3. While I feel for the 1.6 owners (I know I'd be bummed) it is tough to build a "perfect" anything these days. Start with the complexity - while it still boils down to "suck, bang, blow" it's a complex undertaking. As pointed out no amount of testing can cover it all. An example - my previous car (an '09) had a 1% catastrophic fuel system failure. This is an $8,000 dollar failure (entire fuel system). There is a suspicion that the part was engineered to meet the fuel specification laid out by the government......the fuel you get often doesn't quite meet these specifications. Four years later it's still up in the air. No amount of testing would have uncovered this "fault". I'd say props to Ford (& other companies these days) for stepping up immediately. Would 1.6L owners prefer the old days? Like when Ford's reply to the Pinto gas tank was "move along people, nothing to see here" right up until they had videos all over the TV? Same for GM & the pickup fuel tanks. The auto makers have gotten much better about accepting responsibility.
  4. I hesitate to use the term "bad idea" (as an owner you can do as you please) but Ford spent a couple ba-zillion dollars engineering the car for handling & comfort. They hit this one right on the head, great balance between handling & comfort = I'm not certain you gain too much of anything without killing something else. It's your call but I'd give a lot of thought to how well it balances now. FWIW - the Fusion rides like every German car I've owned. Supple but capable - it's a very tough balance to achieve. On our first test drive my wife's 1st comment was "wow, how Teutonic.....feels like a 5 series" :D (which is funny given some German autos are getting more American - floaty, Ford is giving a more Euro auto)
  5. Nice pics, first time I've seen good pics of the H-spokes. They definitely give it an aggressive look. Like them better than the stock "bicycle" wheels. No pics yet......picked it up Friday....Ingot Silver Ti. Did have a chance to get a coat of wax on it. Can't think of anything but positives. Ride is excellent, handling is superb. Comfortable - what more could one ask? Seems to be built very well, solid. The 3 blink doesn't bother me - it's the one thing I'm familiar with as previous vehicle was a VW (TDI). Biggest issue so far is working my way through all the touch/interface stuff  Have not had a chance to let it park itself, manged to stay in my own lane so no warnings, and it would seem I'm driving "alert" = it's all good.
  6. Terrible first post & not related to the 1.6L..........exactly what would one be getting in a "luxury" car the Fusion is missing? Handling? Check, has it in spades Comfort? Check, has it Ride? Ride is excellent Features? Higher than almost everything less than double the price, and more than a few in that price. And it would seem the pricing view is skewed - just one example, Lexus ES350 is $43,500 equipped like a Ti. An Acura TSX is 38,500. An Accord is $33,500.........with quite a few missing "luxury" options. But I understand this one, I go back to the day when 20K was astromical - today's prices take some getting used to.
