  1. This is from the Ford Authority blog today:

Sad is the day when the world loses a fine luxury sedan. And in this case, that luxury sedan is the Lincoln Continental.

According to sources intricately familiar with Ford Motor Company’s future product plans for its premium Lincoln brand, the Lincoln Continental will be discontinued after production of the current, tenth-generation model comes to an end. The sources spoke to us on the condition of anonymity, and we were unable to find out specific reasons why FoMoCo is pulling the plug on the model. We were, however, told that FoMoCo invested over $1 billion to bring the present Continental to market after discontinuing the nameplate in 2002.

    Is it true :(:nonono: ?.

  2. What markets in Europe and the Middle East also sell Lincolns? Remember, Continental is the new brand flagship. I will be sold wherever Lincoln has a presence.

Ford has been selling Lincolns in the Middle East sine the early 90s. And, according to Lincoln Middle East website, Lincoln vehicles are currently sold in:

    1. Saudi Arabia.
    2. UAE.
    3. Oman.
    4. Qatar.
    5. Bahrain.
    6. Kuwait.
    7. Yemen.
    8. Jordan.
    9. Lebanon.

  3. Cheap isn't a word I'd personally like to use. I spent $300 on a conversion kit just to go back to coil springs/shocks. Whenever I get around to replacing the shocks, I'll opt for the old style inflatable, self-adjusting air shocks. That way I can adjust how much pressure I prefer to keep the rear end and it would ride just like it would with those air springs. At up to $500 a side, the air springs just were not worth it.

I paid $220 for each side(OEM). And, you can get aftermarket ones that cost $100 a bag.

Because sheep tend to roll in herds..

plus most f150 owners are guys who paint their nails. Trying to hold onto their man-card. Yet their way to buy mulch is in a bag at walmart. So much for getting their bed dirty/scratched up..

Either way. Had one. 2008. POS and weak motor. I’m hoping their ecoboost motors are better. Only time will tell..

  5. It says "The 3.5-liter EcoBoost will be the only engine offered in the new Expedition in North America". Is the Expedition sold outside North America? If so, what engine will those get?

Saudi Arabia's Ford dealership (Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies) is the world's largest Expedition dealer in the world. In 2012, Ford sold 20,000 Expeditions in Saudi Arabia alone compared to 38,000 in the US in 2013.

  6. So the MKZ is world class because the Fusion is world class? And what does world class mean anyway?

I'm not saying it has to be, but it's still riding on a cheaper components and materials that do limit it's competitive reach.

Ultimately I don't care if I like the end result, but essentially you have not changed the story at Lincoln if you treat Lincoln like bolt-on luxury. I have always liked my Lincolns, nothing has really changed from then and now, it's still a really good Ford and I don't expect them to be better than that because I'd have to pay allot more to get the same features in a Merc or Bimmer (or even Audi). There are a million small factors in designing and engineering a luxury car that Lincoln just can't circumvent until they are on their own.

Audi is waiting for you!. Life is too short so don't waste your time in whining.
