  1. Hydro, regarding your auto high beams. Rather than fumbling thru the settings menus and trying to disable your auto high beams there while trying to drive, just switch you headlight control switch from "auto" to "on". It will shut off your auto high beams. Works on my car like a charm, and is helpful when following someone on a windy highway because your sensor "loses" the car in the corners and switches the high beams on and off constantly as you go in and out of corners.

  2. Finally, I currently have selected Tuxedo Black w/ Brick Red Interior but I'm having heartburn over the choice. I've been unable to find many pictures/video/reviews other than a few threads and dealership photos here and there. My concern is that the red is too bright, but different photos in different lighting make it difficult to get a good idea. My alternate choice would be Darkside w/ Soft Ceramic but I've been told that may be a nightmare to keep clean. Does anyone have experience with either interior?

I've got a Sterling Grey Titanium with Brick Red Interior and I love it. It's not too bright. The seats are a nice shade of red, the lower half of the interior is black and the head liner is soft ceramic. I've also got all my windows tinted (20% on all 5 rear / back windows and 35% on the front 4 windows) except the windshield, so that cuts down on the light entering the car, making the interior darker. Your headliner may be black, based on the exterior color of our car.

  3. The indexing problem sounds like the old software or your metadata isn't correct. There is an itunes sync program that will identify and fix that.

I have a 8 gb flash drive with all my songs and I can select a song, album, artist or playlist with one simple voice command. It works every time.

I've heard others make reference to this program for correcting metadata. I have 3400 songs, and am expecting my Titanium in a week or 2. I would like to be ready so when the car arrives I'm good to go. Could you point me in the direction of the iTunes sync program?

  4. Ha ha ha, I love when people of forums get to play the victim. You questioning my understanding of what the "E" in ETA sets the tone. I'm quite happy being polite and professional, which is what I thought this was going to be based on the first few posts, polite and professional. You started the tone and the attitude. You may not have meant to come off that way, but re-read through some of your posts to other users and see how they are insulted by some of the things you say. Not knowing you or your mannerisms or your sense of humor (which seems to be as dry as mine) plays a significant role.

I understand that it is an estimated arrival and factors that Ford has no control over affect delivery (weather, derailment, mechanical issues, etc.). You seem to be excessively defensive regarding estimated delivery dates. If ETA's are such a major source of confrontation for you, simply say "See Rule #10 and #20" on your first reply to users when providing an ETA. Oh, and don't worry, none of the ETA's you provided were news to me. The first ETA was provided prior to Christmas by my Dealer, and the second was provided last week, you simply confirmed them for me. I should also mention the "delayed" is a direct quote from the Sales Manager, not something I made up to gain sympathy from you or anyone else.

I also understand your rules and the need for them. I want tracking information, I provide the VIN. Participate in the community before asking for tracking. No chatter in this section, that's what the rest of the forum is for. I agree with the rules and would do very much the same if it was me. Many users of this forum that are in the process of ordering new vehicles, myself included, are thankful and appreciative of the service and information that you provide on your own time, but you need to understand that you are openly and admittedly an employee of Ford on a publicly accessibly forum. As such you are a representative of the brand, and you need to be aware of the tone of our comments and how you deal with the users of this forum.

I fully expect to find this topic locked, as you don't seem to like when users explain or defend themselves in the tone that you have established. Multiple things can happen from here. You can lock or delete this topic, which would not surprise me. You can ignore this and all future posts, which would not surprise me either. You can give me a warning, or have an Admin delete and / or disable my account. Or we can act like mature adults and move past this. Ultimately, it's up to you how we move forward with this.

  5. I provided my opinion of the car being delayed, so that you would know why I'm asking for an update on the estimated day of arrival, as provided in your original reply to my tracking request. Delayed, to cause to be later or slower than expected or desired. Since this isn't the first car Ford has ever shipped, 3 weeks later than the original ETA, it seems to be delayed. And yes, I also know what the 'E' in ETA stands for. Estimated, to calculate approximately. Thanks for the update.

  6.

Hey when did you place your order? I have a similar order and just placed it this week and was wondering how yours moved along?

I placed my order in September, but I knew that it was going to be a long wait as multiple options weren't being built by Ford until early November. It was built on December 17 and was supposed to be delivered January 13, but is now delayed until January 31st.

  7. This is all fine and dandy for someone who wants recurring monthly bills. Pay for it once, and it's done. You've also got to keep in mind not all Countries are treated the same, Ford and Sirius are perfect examples. Don't worry, I watch enough American TV to know that I'm being f@cked over for just about every product or service I receive.

  8. I hope you are aware that a lifetime Sirius subscription on a car stays with the car forever. It can't be transferred to another car. The only exception is if the radio breaks and has to be replaced the subscription can be transferred to the new radio in the same car.

Yes I am, but thank you for the information as other readers may not be aware of that. I'm purchasing this car, not leasing it. A 3 year subscription is $495. With a Lifetime, you're looking at it being free after approximately 4 years. I currently drive a 6.5 year old truck with no plans of getting rid of it, and I see no reason why I wouldn't keep this car as long or longer.

  9. So my 2014 Fusion Titanium AWD is expected in less than a week. I've got the dealer working on a price for a lifetime Sirius subscription and molded splash guards. Is there anything that I should be looking for, any issues that people have found early on that I need to have the Dealer address?

  10. For the 2013 MY in Canada at least, Ford increased the price of the Voice Activated Navigation system from $700 to $800 in May. That cost has carried into the 2014 MY Fusions. I believe in the beginning of December there was in increase by around $100 to the destination fee. That's the only increase that I can see for the Canadian customers. That's the nice thing about the Canadian system, our prices and incentives are guaranteed when I place my deposit on the order. I won't have to pay any increase, unless I choose to go with the pricing and incentives that are being offered when I take delivery of the vehicle.

  11. That is the issue I have here. I didn't get to choose the dealership because it was ordered by my company. I have already talked to my company about it as well and they say that they've had similar issues with this dealership before so it's weird that they are still using them but what can you do.

That's what I'm saying. Since it's a Fleet order they may not be willing to provide any info to you on the vehicle since your name isn't attached to it. They may be different if it's a Retail order and you're the one ordering it. If not, don't deal with them on your personal vehicle, find a Dealer that is willing to provide the information you want when you want it (within reason).

  12. It's been my experience that information varies wildly from one Dealer to another. Also inside the Dealership it varies from one Salesperson to another. I find that if you are upfront with your Salesperson and New Car Manager they are willing to work with you. Tell them upfront that you will be asking for and expecting regular updates on the status of the vehicle before you even begin dealing with them. If they are unwilling to provide the information, ask them if that is something they are willing to risk losing a sale over. If they still are not willing to provide the information, walk out. Don't yell and stomp and carry on. Thank them for their time and leave. You can order your Ford from any Ford Dealer, find the one that is willing to take the time to treat you like the way you want to be treated. I've been working with the same Dealer since 2002. I've purchased 3 vehicles from them, 2 of which were Special Orders and the 4th one will be here in a few weeks. I'm on a first name basis with the Dealer Principal, New Car Manager, most of the salespersons, Finance Manager, Service Manager and both Service Writers. Sounds to me like the Dealer is the issue here, and you are getting passed around from one person to another. It may be because it's a Fleet order, but it may be they way they choose to run the business. The only way to find out is to talk to a Retail Salesperson and see what information they are willing to share on Factory Retail Orders. Best of luck to you. Don't let the actions of one Dealer ruin your experience for the entire Company.

  13. The order guide is usually available IIRC. I'm pretty sure we knew the steering wheel, cooled seats, push button on SE, etc were coming before the order banks closed.

That's only because someone leaked them. I couldn't find any Dealer around here that would confirm or deny any information about the 2014's in May or June.

  14. ^ thanks, just checked. It's still showing 11-30-2000 so i guess it wasn't built today. I originally had a date of the 16th, then moved to the 19th.....hopefully it doesn't keep getting pushed out. My $750 coupon expires 2-5-14 :sos:

I'm not sure about other ways to track your order, I'm just passing along info that I've found out during my attempt to track my car. If it was build on the 19th, it should show up on Etis today with the actual build date, all you can do is check every day. The details of your car will also eventually expand too. I checked the VIN of dealer inventory, and there were a lot more details about that car.

He's more like a "Soup Nazi". He has very specific rules, and I can live with that, otherwise he's bombarded with requests. I just don't like the artificial ass kissing that goes on with most posts. I didn't read that in the rules. I figure polite is enough.

If you check Etis now, you'll see your car was born yesterday!!

  15. toduncom,

Looks like timf said what I was trying to say in the other thread. I waited until it was too close to the Final Order Date for 2013's. By then my Dealer didn't have any more allocation for Fusions and they were unable to trade for an allocation from another Dealer. By the time I found a new Dealer that would negotiate the Order Bank was closed. Then there was an extended period of time where the Dealers around here didn't know what was going to be available for 2014 Fusions, and none would confirm or deny the information that I had found on the internet. By the time option and pricing information was available several months had gone by. I put down my deposit in September, knowing that multiple options that I wanted on the car weren't being build until early November. So now I'm waiting until mid-January for delivery.

So I guess what I'm saying is that if you wait too long, you may have to wait longer than you had originally hoped. I'm not trying to pressure you, I'm just sharing my experience. Either way, it's all about getting exactly the car you want.

  16. Once your car is actually built, Etis will start providing details about it. I checked today, and my Fusion was built yesterday. Not sure if it's the same for everyone, but for me it was 3 or so weeks from having my VIN until a window sticker was generated, and then 5 days from window sticker to built. All I can say is keep checking researchmaniacs.com for your window sticker and Etis for the build date. Eventually it will start to show up.

  17.

It sounds like you have been through a lot to get your car ordered. I hope the build and delivery go quickly. I am excited to get exactly what I ordered, that probably increases owner satisfaction. Please keep me informed on the build of your car.

I am hoping to order one too, maybe very similar soon. I may order sooner than I really wanted to if there are changes that I don't want next year. I am hearing that 70-80% of Fords in North America next year will have the automatic start/stop feature. I don't need this feature, as I mostly drive on the highway and I don't want this feature because I believe that it will cause starters and batteries to fail much sooner. I also don't like the idea that the A/C stops when you are stopped and the car turns off. If this is the only way to get a Fusion Titanium next year, I will have to make adjustments.

Sorry for the rant, but Fords upcoming features may impact when I buy/what year car I order. If I wait I may have to go to another brand for my car and I really like the Ford, and the Red Brick Interior.

The window sticker was issued on the 12th. I just checked and the car was built yesterday (17th). Woot woot!!
