According to the window sticker corresponding to the VIN you provided earlier, your order did not come with order code 535, so per the order guide you will have a 2.5" hitch with a 2" reducer.

Oh ok, I though it was a 3" on there. I'll go home and measure it tonight. Thanks for checking.

  2. I picked up the truck finally. I had a few questions. The hitch came with the 2.5" sleeve only. Was it supposed to come with the 2" as well? The dealer is telling me no it doesn't come with it.

BTW, the dealer ended up throwing in Gatorback mud flaps for me due to the length of the wait. :)

  3. The train broke down around Lima.

UGH!!!!! What else could go wrong! What a nightmare ordering this truck. I don't think I will ever special order another vehicle again. 4+ months is just ridiculous.

    Thanks for the info Pioneer.

  4. The delivery date given to you is at the end of the ETA window. Your truck is scheduled to be built on August 17th with a dealer ETA between September 2nd ans 8th.

Your dealer is why it took so long. They had your order coded a priority 19, the lowest priority you can give a special order.

Today's the day my truck is supposed to start being built!!!!!!!!!! :headspin:

Don't know if this helps regarding the topic header... Just saw this at the FMCDealer.com portal.

Oh no........ well 250's aren't listed there so hopefully mine isn't affected.

  6. The WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering) System defaults to priority code 19. Maybe, just maybe, there were other retail orders for that dealership. Most likely it was a case of the individual responsible for placing orders not knowing or not paying attention to how the WBDO ordering system works. Regardless, the next morning the dealership would have received the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) which would have shown that the vehicle was ordering with priority code 19. If the dealership had reviewed the DORA confirmation, all they had to do was change the priority code to a 10 or something lower than 19 if there were other Super Duty retail orders placed ahead of it. Allocation is a different matter but Ford is pretty good at scheduling retail orders even if a Dealer doesn't have allocation. In any event, the Dealer could have sent the order information (Body Code, Order Number) to their Ford Zone Manager and the Regional Scheduler and the scheduling would have been expedited!

So yes, I'd also suggest asking the dealership to do something to compensate for the long order-to-delivery time!

They basically said no... gave me some bs about its not them and they aren't making a profit. I purchased the 8 year warranty too....

If your truck was the only customer ordered super duty then it will get built first anyway - provided the dealer has allocation. But if other orders had lower priorities they would have been built first.

I wonder if I can get them to throw in a set of mud guards or something for making me wait so long?

    Thanks for the info guys.

  9. Hey All,

I was referred to this forum for assistance. I ordered a 2017 Ford F250 Platinum on May 31st and COTUS is telling me I will receive it on Sept 8th. A bit ridiculous if you ask me. I was told 6 to 8 weeks. I needed this truck yesterday.

I was told to post my VIN so here it is:
