I haven't gotten to drive one after the recall. Be sure to post anything odd you notice otherwise. I'm curious.

I had read that there was a possibility that the transmission may be harsher in upshift & downshift as the system relearned the operation. I have not noticed any driveability issues with mine, although I have only driven less than 50 miles since the re-program was accomplished. I will say that I do not usually use full throttle acceleration, so there may be something that someone would notice at the upper end of the boost range. I do not know how much the boost was reduced.

Thank you as well YT90SC for the information on the coolant "usage"! I can attest that it is not much volume of coolant to go from MIN mark to MAX mark. Seems to be less than 8 ounces. The Owner's Manual specifies that the coolant level should be checked when the engine is cold. Mine is now right at MAX when cold (slightly above when engine operating at temperature).

Here's to hoping the re-program can preserve my head gasket.

  2. OK Blue Oval folks (especially Ford Techs if you will help me out),

I had my 2019 Fusion SE (1.5L EcoBoost ) in at the dealer this week for Field Service Action 19B37 - the PCM Reprogramming to try to prevent coolant intrusion into the cylinders.

When i got to the Service Dept. I told the advisor that my coolant was right at the MIN level. He told me that it is normal for these engines to use some coolant. Even stated that the service manual says this.

So here is my question (especially for the Ford Techs out there):

Is it really the case that some coolant use (not external leakage) is normal in an EcoBoost engine? And is that statement in the Ford Service manual?

I have seen where oil consumption is considered normal, but i have never encountered coolant use (consumption) is said to be normal.

    Thanks all!

  3. Hi All,

My 2019 Fusion SE did not come equipped with fog lamps. The Accessories Manager at the dealership I purchased the vehicle from had quoted me $700 installed for factory fog lamps with the change-out of the headlamp switch unit and activating the fog lamp indication in the instrument cluster. But when I asked him to order the kit, it turns out that 2019 has a different style fog lamp that 2018 and earlier - so the incorrect parts were received.

Now it seems that the dealership is having problems finding the correct parts to add Fog Lamps to a 2019 Fusion SE.

Are there any folks on here who might have the part #'s or the Kit # for the 2019 Fusion Fog Lamps?

    Thanks!

    John
